- We slumped to a second consecutive defeat at the Emirates, and in truth can have few complaints about the result.
Champions Liverpool put us under pressure for most of the 90 minutes, while up front it was a frustrating evening for our forwards, who had very little to work with all game.
We held the visitors at bay for the first half, but once Diogo Jota was brought on, Liverpool moved up a gear and ran out comfortable winners.
It was a scrappy opening 15 minutes from both sides, before Liverpool slowly began to force us deeper and deeper into our own territory.
In fact we were struggling to get out of our own half at times, and the visitors really should have taken the lead when Trent Alexander-Arnold cut the ball back to the unmarked James Milner, but his first-time effort was off target.
The first-half stats did not look pretty for us. We managed just one shot compared to Liverpool's six, while the visitors enjoyed twice as much possession as us in the opening 45 minutes. To make matters worse we lost Kieran Tierney to injury just before the break.
Tierney's replacement, Cedric, had our first effort on target of the match, forcing a diving save from Alisson after being set up by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But the general flow of play remained towards our own goal, and Liverpool eventually took the lead through substitute Jota. His powerful header was too hot for Bernd Leno to handle after meeting Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross.
Five minutes later Mohamed Salah doubled the lead when he threaded the ball through Leno's legs at the near post.
We were architects of our own downfall for the third goal. Gabriel gave the ball away when playing out from the back, Liverpool worked it back into our box for Jota to gratefully tuck home his second.
The result leaves us stranded in ninth place, as attention once again turns to the Europa League this midweek.

Leno is so comfortable right now and thats why he's been complacent. Play Mat Ryan so Leno realize that he's got competition
I think the problem is also the mentality and bad momentum at the club. Once that gets into your head you subconsciously act less confident which leads to more "errors" or at least shaky moments that should be much less shaky
Nah, when Martinez was there leno was on his heel. Now he looks comfortable like he doesnt have a challenge. If you watch other gk like mendy, schmeilchel and Henderson. They have amazing blocks and keep the team in it but leno isn't a on their level. Cmon man he even isn't Germany #1 goalie or #2

Good shout. Ryan is an Arsenal fan at heart, wants to play and is very vocal and commanding of his defence. Give him some game time. Some of the stuff we're been seeing from Leno for the last month has been shocking.

I'm pretty sure next season arteta will buy cover for Tierney, Leno, RCB, and new RB. And we really need CM who can score goals. I don't mind to have Ramsey back as long he cut his wages. He bleeds arsenal, he already knows the manager and the squad. Playing 433 with partey CDM, him RCM, and get odegaard playing LCM will bring back memories of coquelin, Ramsey, cazorla

Without KT, Auba is a liability. He can't dribble like Pepe, he can't hold the ball like Laca, he can't track and defend like Saka, and he can't pass like Martin or ESR. His attacking pace needs space.
Hence why I always tell people Arsenal need an Alexis Sanchez type of player, a technically gifted player who is able to dribble in small spaces therefore creating free kicks so we can regroup.

Since 2009/2010 arsenal have had four game with less than three shots, all four of those games have come under Mikel Arteta. This while having the most expensive front 3 in the EPL in Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pépé.

We are now faced with the possibility of both Luiz and Tierney being out for our UEL quarters and semis should we progress. Arteta has some serious thinking to do. We don't have natural cover at left back and no surprise that as Tierney went off all 3 Liverpool goals came down that side against Cedric. I would revert to Saka at left back moving forward and Marí has to play, Holding is not good enough as that right sided CB. Everyone pretending he is can stop with the English bias

Seems like Saliba, Martinelle, Pepe, Guendouzi, have been badly mismanaged. Emile Smith Rowe only got a chance because of injury and wasnt getting played at all. Pablo Mari rarely gets played but a great centre back. God damn Willian getting played over Martinelli. Starting to think Arteta is a disaster zone.
