Always nice to hear and watch. In my youth I could hear 'small' Ardennais horses for hours in the forest, chains, the far voice of the driver and the noise of a hoof hitting a stump.
I have done this work a few times with 'Bea', an old 'Gelders' horse when I was was young. What a beautiful experience it really was. I still remember the joy the horse herself had, she really liked the work. The muscles swelling up, the sound of the chains, to experience this force from close by...
Nice team. In the early 60s (pre skidder days) I watched logging done with a 4 mule team. They were rigged 2 X 2 and since they worked together every day they were amazing and they didn't tear up the forest like a skidder. The logs were mature pine 30"X25'.
Everyone looks like they are in fine fettle. Bob is moving well, better than I have noticed in a long time. Looking forward to seeing what Tim makes with his planks.
I love your videos SO much!! They remind me of my home town! I used to have a draft the was more of a pasture pal for the horses we boarded than for work. It's so cool to see what Horses can really do.
Oh I just loved watching this!! We recently moved to an overgrown ten acres and every time I pass our many fallen logs which have been left on their own for years I think of Flora and Henry. Could you perhaps hire them out to me in Kentucky? They didn't mind pulling, perhaps they wouldn't mind the flight over. ;)
I love the way henry looks around 1:30..... kinda wild and feral with all that hair, blowing around his face... :D Much more my kind of horse than those shiny horses with their hair in braids who never leave the barn.
hello Tim and Sandra i enjoy to see this advanture i think henry is stong then flora but they makes a great team togather and i allso want to see bandsaw i think it will be big thank you againe good by.
my kids and I love watching your videos. I see why your animals respond so well to you, because your gentle and wonderful way with language even has a very soothing affect on us. Just wondering where your accent is from. it's lovely. And good luck to ye.
Matthew Purcell What :D ? I don't even have Videos on my channel ^^' But if you want me to, I can head over to your channel and see if I like the content :)
Wonderful job training them Sandra and Tim! Do you use them for any kind of carriage driving? I'm interested in learning carriage driving but thought of using a mule for it instead of a horse, since mules generally eat less and have that hybrid vigor. Your cobs are HUGE! Thanks again for sharing and aloha from Hawai'i!
be careful to get the gravel off the outside tim, otherwise you'll be replacing too many blades, i drag wood being my tractor and I'm sure to wash the logs off well. (chainsaw mill). good luck and thanks for such great vids!
Thank you. You're right. That's definitely a down-side to dragging logs on roads and I hope washing them will be enough to get the grit out. We'll see.
I like cobs a lot. How tall are they? I have two 14.1 hh ponies in the US. One I've started under saddle. I like so many of your vids, especially the horse vids.
Ah! Maybe my girl DOES have some cob in her after all! She’s a “meat truck mutt” as my mom calls her. we got her for free when she didn’t grow tall enough for a friend who bought her at an auction as a yearling.
hi I fear your blade will not be under enough tension to cut anything substantial... Hope I'm wrong... Mechanical Engineer from Coventry now living near you!
We have tried other ways but a bit really is the best. It doesn't hurt them at all (as far as we can tell, of course) and we only use it so everyone stays safe. These horses are so strong and if something goes wrong they could easily get hurt - we love them and look after them everyday, but we have to be in charge all the time.
No se como se desarrollarán tanto en esos países si se remolcador hacia adelante no para el lado es elemental el saber para donde se realiza la fuerza es sólo física elemental para no dañar los caballos se nota que no sabes trabajar con ellos
take out that piece of metal from the horse's mouth it hurts the animal so much. I saw a video on youtube few days ago about this and it was sad how they finally break the animals' teeth.
Good job Henry and Flora 👍👏 They are such beautiful animals and soo strong lol. 😊
Thanks for taking us along. Take care-Debbie

Look at this horse, this horse is amazing.
I don't why but I enjoy seeing your videos they are nice.
I really want to see that bandsaw!
It's coming along nicely, but it'll never be as green as yours : - )
My favorite youtubers commenting on each other's videos? This makes me so happy for some reason! :)
me too :)
Yeah, I want to see it also.
What fantastic helpers! I am considering a gypsy or two to help out around our homestead
Tim, if you throw a bag of grain on Henry's back, would you have Corn on the Cob?
and the best pun this week goes to....
(In my best Elvis voice) Thank you. Thank You, Very much.
peaceful to listen and watch. thank you.
you always treat your pets with care, love ya!
Wrong they use bits which isn't love and care nor is it even respectful.

What lovely horses. Like small Clydesdales. And it doesn't get any better than that!
What beautiful horses. I love how eager they seem to be to pull, like they really enjoy it.
I love those horses. Such beautiful animals.
Cool! It's nice to see horses in action!
Everyone looks like they are in fine fettle. Bob is moving well, better than I have noticed in a long time. Looking forward to seeing what Tim makes with his planks.
lovely to see draft horses having a job!
I love your videos SO much!! They remind me of my home town! I used to have a draft the was more of a pasture pal for the horses we boarded than for work. It's so cool to see what Horses can really do.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
that was quite a sight to see. Thank you!
Very sweet how Henry works on the farm.
What Good Calm hard working ponies!! Must be the trainer!?!
lol great video!! I held my breath the whole time
that was fun , thanks for the video
Dang Irish cob horses are strong!
if you plan on doing more of this, you should consider some sort of sled for the nose of the log so it doesn't dig into your driveway. ;)
You're right - and I have a plan..!
Hi Tim! Dont forget to document you building of THE Bandsaw!!
/swede
Love this video. My kids loved it too and are saying that we need a couple of horses😅
and maybe they're right!
Hahaha 😅 I think they are😉
ive towed trucks with those hooks! i was think of getting a couple horses but this settles it i think!
I love the way henry looks around 1:30..... kinda wild and feral with all that hair, blowing around his face... :D
Much more my kind of horse than those shiny horses with their hair in braids who never leave the barn.
Henry's a magnificent horse!

Thanks, Melissa. Yes, we do use them for driving - we haven't made many videos on that but there are a few - have a look in our 'Workhorse' playlist.
I sure love your videos your both great and you are all women.

Yes, we do. How about you?
be careful to get the gravel off the outside tim, otherwise you'll be replacing too many blades, i drag wood being my tractor and I'm sure to wash the logs off well. (chainsaw mill). good luck and thanks for such great vids!

They're about 14.1 too. (Maybe we should call them ponies? Or you could call yours horses?!)
Ah! Maybe my girl DOES have some cob in her after all! She’s a “meat truck mutt” as my mom calls her. we got her for free when she didn’t grow tall enough for a friend who bought her at an auction as a yearling.
hi
I fear your blade will not be under enough tension to cut anything substantial... Hope I'm wrong... Mechanical Engineer from Coventry now living near you!
Me too! (Are you still Mechanically Engineering?)
Funnily enough i'm retiring to a life of knife making in my wife's barn.
Henry looks a bit like my horse that I ride called polo
I thought when you said tim is building ..you were going to say a bigger boat!
One day... : - )
Those snaps are only rated for 250 pounds or so, no wonder it broke.
U should use a buffelo to pull that havy log..
Luckiest horses of the world. Love it.
Hi Guys,
Just wondering how you get to live this wonderfull Man/Woman relationship around Mother Nature. I'm searching my way :-)
Your lucky it didn’t whip round at you the chain l mean...seen that happen can be very dangerous.
Hi! When he was pulling the logs I saw his mouth was being pulled open with the bit , that must hurt, no hate ❤️
We have tried other ways but a bit really is the best. It doesn't hurt them at all (as far as we can tell, of course) and we only use it so everyone stays safe. GRASS POWER HA HA

The horse are doing that because that don’t like it and how would u fell if you had to do that
What are those dogs doing, standing around? Put THEM to work!
The bits 😭😩
Poor horses... Shame on you for using bits!
No they are not 'poor horses' - they are well loved, well cared-for and safe!
(Perhaps you don't know quite as much about bits as you think you do?)
Way Out West Blow-in blog bits are actually very bad for horses even scientists say it to
Bits used in the wrong way - or the wrong bits - are very bad, I agree. But that's not what's happening here at all.
why dont you get a tractor? it would be a lot easier and less time consuming... well i love your horses anyway
But what would the horses do? They like to help out with jobs like this one.
fair enough i guess
take out that piece of metal from the horse's mouth it hurts the animal so much. I saw a video on youtube few days ago about this and it was sad how they finally break the animals' teeth.
You're right to be concerned, but the bit is no where near the teeth. We wouldn't use anything that harms our horses!
