So excited to see Brother Richard Draper in these episodes!!!! I bought the CDs of his Keys to Understanding Revelation lectures in the middle 2000s and find that they are as good now as the first time I listened to them.

Bro Draper is the best. I had him for the second half of the New Testament and Pearl of Great Price. I’m so glad he taught me the Book of Revelation. He is my favorite BYU professor!!! Does Bro Draper still like chocolate chip cookies?

I listen and enjoy your podcast. I'd like to coment on the words of Brother Draper on the break up of the Soviet Union. I was serving in the Army at that time, and stationed on the boarder of East and West Germany. In as I recall April 1989 Missionaries were allowed into East Germany. In Priesthood meeting we talked about it And it was brought up that there is always a blessing to areas where Missionaries go and to the families of Missionaries when they are sent out. We stated it will be interesting to see what happens. As time went on that year we saw more and more East Germans seeking Asylum to West Germany. One could always tell as they drove down the highway with their car and maybe a trailer pack full)l with all their belongings. Well in November of that year the Berlin Wall came down and in October the next year Germany officially reunited and in 1991 Soviet Union was officially over. I saw it happen and know that God had a big hand in it happening.

I absolutely love the followHim podcast! So far I've listened to this episode three times. It has been many years since I last read the Book of Revelation because it always seemed impossible to understand, and the little I did understand was terrifying. This podcast has vastly increased my understanding of Revelation and has strengthened my determination to be a true disciple. Thank you for your wonderful efforts to build Zion!

Love how Dr Draper went from Jesus whip in the temple to the unleashing of His power in the book of revelation.... 😮.. ❤

I love how it’s perfectly balanced :)if you’re wicked and unprepared you won’t see it coming and be able to try and fake it last minute but if you’re righteous and trying to understand and prepare , it’ll be clearer and instead be a source of comfort where you’ll find answers and understanding ❤

But I have confidence that we will not only be satisfied with the judgment of God; we will also be astonished and overwhelmed by His infinite grace, mercy, generosity, and love for us, His children. If our desires and works are good, if we have faith in a living God, then we can look forward to what Moroni called “the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge.”

Beautifully said! Thank you! One other thought about slavery. Human trafficking & pornography are obvious. But what about cheating? Or not paying an employee their just dues? Maybe not as obvious, but as employers we need to be careful that we are not using people simply as tools to make ourselves rich. Just a random thought.

Good point. Unrestrained capitalism often takes advantage of employees or natural resources. The 2008 Housing Crisis is an example of driving profits and borrowing beyond means to secure "things", profit regardless of the consequences or bigger and better homes than we need or can afford.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there is perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

Great show, I feel a kinship with all of you as saints preparing for the Lords arrival! The reference about making merchandise of men is 2 Peter 2:3... maybe it says it in Rev. Also, but thats the reference, I think, if anyone is interested to read about it more... 🙏💙🙏

These discussions are extremely thought provoking. I appreciate Dr Draper's knowledge and understanding of the scriptures, and followHIM for producing the program.
Please help me with one question: at 31:25 there is one word or phrase that is unintelligible to me, and the show transcript fails at this point: "... blaspheming is a willingness to spin lies to bring down ___________ in order to have sympathy for oneself." Please fill in the blank.
It seems to me that there are fundamental principles at work. When societies choose to follow the path described in Revelation and very accurately depicted in the Homer Hailey quote, they bring the destruction upon themselves. Destruction is the natural consequence of such choices. Given our understanding of our divine nature and our eternal possibilities, it is no wonder God is angry. I think Dr. Draper said that just a bit earlier in the program.
    Again. Thank you for this!

"the characters of others" Is what I think it meant to say. Sounds like the audio cut out there.

In the description of this video there is a link to the transcript. Here is from the transcript:
"...blaspheming is a willingness to spin lies to bring down the character rather, in order to have sympathy for oneself."

In the aspect of using people and seeing them as objects, I also would like to add using people for gain, dismissing or undermining gender, and not correcting wrong to help people be more humane. We see this everyday, and to me seeing people as objects is also not correcting wrong behavior in related areas.
