    I just placed an order for Bull Bay's Artillery Custom Spinning Rod Inshore, 7'6", I've owned the Bull Bay Sniper rod for a while now and paired it with my Shimano Stradic Ci4 2500, has been my inshore go to rod. I will pair my new custom with FFP's new Carbon edition 3000 reel that I also own and have caught a few slot snooks on it . These US made quality rods are really affordable too, just can't wait for my custom. Good job guys!!!

    Picked up a MF Bolt 7’6” and MH XF Banshee 6’8” this winter. They are both phenomenal rods. The Bolt has a ton of sensitivity and the Banshee for being a MH @ just 6’8” cast great and is just slightly less sensitive. Craftsmanship on both is immaculate. I’m contemplating on outfitting my other three inshore rods with Bull Bay now. Awesome rods

    The double-locking seat as shown at 5:10 on the Artillery has a great feel. It works amazingly well (I say this based on the newest Fenwick HMG, of which I recently bought two).

    I like how the inshore rods have longer handles. It allows you to have the option of putting it under your armpits as you fight. Rods now a day's have such short handles so you have to hold it above the grip on the blank itself when you pivot the butt on your waist or stomach. I hope more spinning reels go back to longer handles like these. Great looking reels.

    The EVA foam above the reel seat appears to be a bit short if one wants (or needs) to put extra pressure to pull fish out of the mangroves, off a wreck (if using the offshore rods), etc. Everyone fishing differently, and I tend to grab the rod a full foot above the reel seat as I reel fish in to get a bit more leverage...to each his (or her, in my case!) own!!

    I think my Stradic, would look real good on that Sea Foam Green rod....Those all look very nice. I know St. Croix rods are nice, but I honestly don't see anything all that great about their Sub 200 rods. I've made the decision 2 or 3 times to go buy the Mojo Bass, but Every time, I've walked away with something else, because the SC just didn't feel that great to me....I hope they come aboard....I'm still getting one of those Toadfish rods though!!!!!

    • @Saltyscales
      @Saltyscales  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sonny Dryer The Mojo is a great buy for the money but it definitely doesn't have the polished feel that other rods do. It's a little heavy but I can attest to great strength and we have caught a ton of fish with them. The Toadfish rods seem to be holding up well thus far.

    I was looking at them and love the ease of ordering a custom rod for a decent price. However I remained undecided because their website said nothing about the quality or contents of their blanks. I would've liked to know the type of graphite they use, the modulus, glass blend, etc. Right now I'm looking for a strong rod with a little sensitivity.

Out of 11 rod and reel combos, my highest end rod is a Team Diawa Tierra casting rod 12-25 lb test and it was $79.XX .. As much as I'd like to purchase one of these rods, I'd probably feel guilt knowing I have other needs a little higher on the list.
