- In this video I reviewed one of the most popular Russian cars Lada VAZ-2101 also known as Zhiguli .
I had the rare chance to drive this 50 year old classic car and spend some time to explore the interior . - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I consider it damn near a luxury car by my definition because it has those wonderful vent windows. I miss those so much
I love how simple everything is!
A soviet dream indeed, you are one lucky man to own one of the Zhiguli
Such an event driving it
My wife and I were staying in Bath, England. As a 'Yank' I was attempting to master the 'Right Hand Drive' arrangement with my rental car. One afternoon, as we drove about (and I was feeling I had mastered the whole arrangement), some 'chap' in a Jag. drove only inches from the rear of my car. Being a back country road, and no real safe place to pass for some distance, I was the object of his hate. I finally hit the brakes and turned off! As he rushed by I realized I had turned into the lot of a car dealership. But it was not 'any' car dealership....it was a LADA DEALER. It was Sunday, I viewed his showroom floor (though the window). I had owned a FIAT 128, so the car looked very similar. I always puzzled over the 'Viking Ship' logo Lada used (guess that was to indicate the ruggedness of a Viking long boat in its construction!).
The Viking explored well into Russia navigating the famous Volga River where the Lada factory is built next to, l love your Rent A car story Sir 😂
@@markotango54 That is correct...Vikings were headed to the Black Sea and on to Byzantine Empire to trade, not raid. Many Vikings however stayed among the Slavs? Viking words would make their way into Russian as well?
@@brianlinke1856Vikings established the first Rus’ state and the first Russian Rurikid dynasty was of Viking origin.
I love this car,i remember the first car of my fathrr
It was such an event for me to have the chance to drive it so many years after it was built
Ooooooh Daa 😎👌
These were sold in the UK and were the least costly car in Britain at one point!
That must’ve been the real people’s car
I have an original UK rhd model 👍
@@jonnysedge7412 you are lucky I believe there are very few RHD left on the road.
I drove one (gasoline,/natural gas) in Canada for a short while many years ago. The Lada sedan were described as a Fiat 124 assembled in the dark. Apart from being dual fuel, they were cheap and considered as a three year lifespan throw away car.
I was in Russia (Moscow, Kemorovo and) a few years back and was stunned at the number of Japanese cars on the road. Combination of left and right hand drive vehicles on the same roads is a recipe for disaster. A few of the four wheel drive Nivas are still on the road, and they could have sold in the US if it weren't for politics.
The Fiat assembled in the dark. That would have made such a good title
this just proves that camera quality doesnt affect a great video
Glad you liked it!
@@Battery-Powered the music and rhe whole vibe, its just so cool
