We decided to upgrade to the Peloton Bike+ PLUS after stopping by our local peloton store and taking the new peloton on a test ride.

If you want to see the new peloton bike plus up close and in person you can watch our video where we visit the store and learn all about the new peloton bike+.In this new peloton bike+ plus review we go over some of the new features the bike has such as the rotating screen and how exactly it works. Initially we were wrong about how the peloton bike+ plus screen rotates due to some confusion in the wording and images used in the product launch.
After seeing how the peloton bike plus screen works in person it seems like much better design then we initially thought.In this Peloton Bike Plus review we also learn how the apple gymkit works to connect the apple watch to the peloton bike plus seamlessly. The sales rep at the store also shows us how to use the digital resistance adjustment to make use of the Auto Follow feature on the peloton bike+ plus.This is the New Peloton Bike Plus that was just released, and we just spent an extra $250 to upgrade our standard peloton bike order we placed last week to the brand new Pelton Plus for a total cost of $2495, and in the next few minutes I'm going to tell you everything we learned about the new peloton bike when we took a trip down to our local Peloton store this evening here in Santa Monica, California.I'm going to show you how the Apple watch connects with the Apple Gymkit in the Peloton Bike Plus review and how the Auto-Follow digital resistance system works and the differences between new and old models. The new larger screen DOES in fact rotate all the way around 180 degrees to the right and ALSO 180 to the left, so effectively you can position the screen in any direction on a 360 degree circle, you just cant rotate it all the way around past the 180 degree position, probably to prevent cables from getting twisted.From the initial video footage, pictures and blog post Peloton released it literally ONLY showed the screen rotated 90 degrees to one direction in every picture and video and there was no pictures of the screen rotated all the way around, so it was a bit confusing to me, why wouldn't they show us it rotated all the way around in there video?Anyway, it new bigger screen does effectively have 360 degrees of rotation, but not only that, the screen tilts up and down as well.With that part of the Peloton Bike plus cleared up lets talk about some other features on there newest indoor cycling bike.From a distance the first thing you might notice about the new peloton bike plus that differentiates it from the standard model is the new shiny lettering on the spin bike which replaces the red peloton lettering on the standard model.Next the screen is 1.8 inches bigger, and when you see it in person it REALLY looks a lot bigger and nicer.After you actually get on the bike and have a chance to adjust the new magnetic digital resistance knob you'll immediately notice the knob is extremely light to the touch and very easy to turn which is a lot different then the mechanical knob on the standard peloton bike. As you already probably know this digital resistance knob allows for a feature the are falling Auto Follow which automatically remembers your target metrics and scales your resistance up and down based on instructor guidance, so essentially the new Peloton Bike Plus has the ability to automatically adjust it's resistance without you ever even touching the resistance knob. Pretty neat.We had a chance to blast the audio and it was LOUD, but honestly it would do you no good for me to play what we heard for you because ultimately the audio device you're watching this video on is playing the audio you hear and will not accurately represent the peloton bike plus.Ok so lets talk about the Apple Gymkit. This was honestly one of the biggest features and reasons we decided to upgrade to the Peloton Plus. To connect your apple watch up for your ride all you have to do is tap your apple watch up by the camera at the top and center of the screen. Additionally the knobs on the new peloton bike plus have been upgraded to the circular style knobs that are much nicer to the touch and feel. They also just look nicer. Not a huge deal, but definitely shows there attention to detail.Soo if your thinking about upgrading to the peloton bike plus I hope this Peloton Bike Plus review is showing you the features of the bike and is helping you.What do you think of the new peloton bike plus? Is it worth the upgrade to you? I mean it is 600 buck more, but I think you have to admit, this new bike is pretty nice. But the standard bike is also nice, I mean we just bought it a week ago at $2245 so obviously we felt it was worth it, and now at a new price point of $1895 the standard Peloton bike is an even better buy.

Thank you for the video. Have been on the fence about upgrading but pulled the trigger. Lets be honest, there is nothing like a Peloton. The instructors, community and bike are amazing and, truth be told, is both therapy and a workout in one. The more immersive sound sold me. 1.5 month wait for delivery (am in your neck of the woods).

Get my bike+ on 10/6. I've had my current Peloton a little over 2 years now, love it. That said, I've been wanting GymKit integration since before I got my first one! The upgraded speaker system and auto-resistance made this an easy upgrade.
Sweet! we'll have ours a week earlier ;) really looking forward to it! We'll be spoiled to have all these new features right out of the gate with the new Peloton bike plus!
There is a population of new Peloton owners that are getting screwed with this new upgraded offer. My bike was ordered on July 22nd and delivered on July 30th. Mr. Foley informed us of the new bike+ on September 9th as well as reducing the value of my recently purchased Peloton. They are refusing to rebate me the difference in price. The new bike+ and the price reduction for the original bike were clearly on the table when I placed my order. I am disappointed in the lack of transparency that the company has exhibited.
to be honest this can be said for any iterative product. If you bought and iphone 11 last month you would not get credit for a price reduction if the iphone 12 gets announced (tomorrow) and they reduce the 11. It sucks for sure. Personally, this is why I like being an early adopter, you get to use the tech for the maximum amount of time before an upgrade.

This is such a cute/fun and helpful review, thanks guys! I was in the exact same boat - after using a bike off amazon for a few months to make sure I could commit, I bought a Peloton bike. A week later, the Bike Plus was introduced along with the $350 rebate option for the regular bike. MAJOR DILEMMA! I opted to cancel my order and upgrade to the Plus (after a few days of not hearing from Peloton, I decided to just place a new order for the Plus and deal with the refund later). Installation is Oct 26. One feature I really wish Peloton would add is the option to turn the music all the way off while keeping the instructor's voice. I'd love to be able to play my own music but still ride along with a class. Anyway, thanks again! Your review has me feeling better about my purchase of the Plus :)
Wow! Thank you for sharing Kathryn! Your situation seems to be darn near identical to ours... That's a really interesting point you bring up about the music, it seems like it would be possible to have audio controls for two separate tracks so you could listen to only the instructors voice, I wonder if they ever will implement that. I think a lot of the rides kind of use the music pace as a cadence indication, so it might change the feel of the ride have music with a different beat. Definitely an interesting point. Finally, someone who wants the music to be completely off. It is the only thing I ask of them, really. As of now, you can slightly raise the voice of the instructor over the music OR raise the music over the instructors voice but thats it. However, that right there tells us it is more than possible so I really dont understand why they dont add it. I get the music goes with the pedaling but still.
@@TamerBekir i've started to just take classes on mute with subtitles while playing my own music. i DJ so it's easy for me to change the BPM of the music to match the required cadence. i hope that the automatic resistance adjustment of the bike + will be helpful in this regard. honestly, i just wish they'd play some decent house and techno instead of pop and EDM garbage but i guess that's asking a lot ;)

Sept 21st arrival for ours. Last piece for our redesigned home gym. Can’t wait ! Covid has us working from home for at least the next 6 months and after that our companies will be letting us work from home 2-3 days a week move forward so way more time to workout now. One positive out of this whole crappy thing.

I was torn but went with the standard as the additional features in our spare room won't get used. I have an apple watch, but happy to use the garmin heart strap, and my daughter doesn't have a watch and wants to use the bike. I have a good sound system in the room that I can link to, the room is not big enough to do floor work, so tilting screen not much use, and can stream to the 50" TV in the main room if I wnat to do floor work, auto resistance is down to instructor controls (currently) so rather have my own control. Only selling point for me is the fact that the power tracking is more accurate on teh new bike, but I can't justify the premium for that
Elliott Lansdown-Bridge The standard bike is where it’s at! Only big feature addition in my opinion is the resistance changing automatically but if your someone who pushes hard that wouldn’t be of much use either. I’ve had the bike for almost a month now and love every aspect of it

so funny cause we upgraded our original bike to the bike +, waiting for delivery still of course, I was so confused about the screen rotation because of the advertisements too! Why would they not show the screen turning all the way around in one of their trailers! I was happy to find out it does in fact go all the way around due to the fact that i will be doing boot camp classes in front of the bike because we have it caddy cornered and I didnt want to have to rearrange furniture! Bike+ delivered on October 12th... Broke 2 days later. Screen was dead and needs a new frame. Frame was to be delivered last Wednesday.. Peloton canceled the day before and wanted me to reschedule for December. I canceled and they picked up the bike today. The 2 rides I did were great and I loved the auto resistance... but now wondering if I should just order the original bike. The crew that picked up said they have stopped deliveries of the Bike+. Anyone else have issues with their new Bike+?

Just changed my order, was getting the old bike next weekend, added four weeks to that but I feel it’s worth it. The Apple gym kit and auto follow features were big sell points for us.

Getting this bike. The screen clearance is worrisome. Wish the handlebars moved. Super stoked about the improved adjustment knobs and quick release.

So if one doesn’t have the Apple Gym thing on the watch (I don’t have the watch) then besides the larger screen with swivel and better knobs then there doesn’t seem to be a huge need to go to the Bike +? I prefer to manually change the knob and don’t feel the need to automate that and worried it’s one more thing to possibly break. 😬 (I know, stinkin thinkin). Is that a fair assessment? I’ve been back and forth on buying my first Peloton. Thanks
Do you see any difference in adjusting the height of the seat or the handles up/down, forward backwards? Is there any difference in adjusting the handles with the new screen?
I'll get back to you on this soon, working on a video for it now. I'm not sure on seat height changes, but the handlebars still cannot move forward and backwards just like the standard model. There are new knobs that are nicer to the touch and easier to turn on the bike plus. The saddle does appear to be easier to adjust. Hope this helps!
Can you tell us more about the video resolution? I have the original version and when I do the Scenic rides, they just look grainy and wish they would be in 4k.

What was your reason for upgrading from your echelon bike, and what made the large price difference worth it to you? How does the ride compare between the bikes?
Honestly the Echelon bike is perfectly fine, a big reason we got the Peloton was due to the strong and effective marketing campaign they have! It will take some time to give you a true response to the questions about whether it was worth the big price difference and how the bikes compare side by side. We'll definitely be posting new videos comparing the two indoor spin bikes soon!

Yes, you can! You can also completely turn off the auto resistance feature.

Sorry one last question. Did you notice any noise using the automatic resistance feature? I'm asking because I know Nordictrack automatic resistance feature has a noise when utilized.
I didn't notice any noise at all, I might have to stop by the store and listen closer next time, but no there was no obvious noise

What is the sound like on the onboard speakers? I don't mean how loud but the quality of sound. Thanks
the sound quality it really really good for a tablet, my klipsche speakers are still better, but they cost like way more ad have a dedicated receiver
From my understanding the app will now have more classes (including ones that include weights)- Can you access the new classes on the older version? I'm scheduled to get mine next week after waiting 3 months, and to get the newer version I would have to wait another 3-5 weeks so i'm still undecided.
They did mention the weight training classes you are talking about. I am not sure if you will be able to access these classes on the standard bike or not, but this is an excellent question! If anyone knows the answer please let us know here! And wow that is quite the dilemma on upgrading considering how soon your bike is being delivered after how long you've already waited!
These classes will be available on both bikes according to the peloton site. “Peloton introduces Bike Bootcamp, the latest way to combine cardio and strength training in one class on the Peloton Bike and Bike+”

You can access all classes on and bike or device.
The bike+ when you ride, the screen shakes when your cadence is high and out of the saddle. Kinda sucks actually. Someone told me that the old bike doesn't shake as much. is this true? This feature is quite important to me.
We already are upgrading since we only had our standard bike for 2 weeks so they let us swap it

Do you know if the resistance adjusts with the knob even when the screen is off? Can you manually increase resistance without it being connected digitally?

I watched it but it didn’t answer my question. With the old bike, you could manually turn the knob to the right all the way to lock the wheel. My question is: can you move the knob to the right to lock the wheel WITHOUT being connected to a class?
Just changed my order to the Bike + and its coming two weeks earlier than the old bike (arriving next Monday)...yippee! But no heart rate monitor in the basics package. So if one doesn’t own or want an Apple Watch but wants to monitor heart rate...what is suggested??

The auto resistance adjustment is not a game changer. I have it on my ProForm iFit bike. And it’s been out for 2 years.

Naples sales agent was really excited about the new Bike Plus when asked if we made the right decision to cancel our order for the Bike and upgrade to the Bike Plus. Said the new bike was “AWESOME!”
The closer I look at the new bike the more little details I notice have been improved upon. The standard bike is good, I'm happy we upgraded to the bike+
What about the Tread+? Can you connect your Apple Watch to it? Any fixes to the unit regarding the vibration?
Good question! They didn't have the new Tread+ on display in the store yet and they made it sound like it was going to be a while until we could see it in person!
Nope, the GymKit does not work on Tread Plus. Apple & Peloton have only reached agreement on this one product: Bike Plus.
Its frustrating to go to a store and know more about the product than the sales person trying to sell me the product. Something I experienced at a Peloton store recently. BTW this person wasn’t just starting a new job, it was a manager.

Does it tilt downward so that it's facing the floor if you're doing floor exercises?
Yes it does tilt down towards the floor maybe about 15 degrees if I had to guess a number, but it definitely tilts up toward the ceiling a lot more than it tilts down toward the floor I noticed. Do you have to use the peloton shoes on the bike+
No. But the bike does come with delta cleat pedals stock on the bike, but any shoe with a delta cleat will clip into this pedal. Also you can remove the pedal and replace it with a different pedal, such as SPD cleat or even no cleat at all if you'd like. Hope this helps.
Guess that answers my question if you upgraded haha. I’ll wait for yours and other reviews about GymKit and AutoFollow before I decide. Ie) is gym kit that good, is it just heart rate on the screen. And is auto follow worth it or will you find yourself doing it yourself more.

It’s the future of indoor fitness. Now that Apple is getting into the fitness industry with their Fitness+ service, it’s exciting to see where it would go eventually.

I ordered my bike a week ago, and I too got the email saying we get a $300 plus refund or we can upgrade. I saw your 1st video basically saying you didn't think it was worth the upgrade, I agreed with that, but now I see you're going to upgrade so I'm still trying to decide. Did you check out the auto digital resistance knob ? it'll be nice not having to reach down all the time to make the adjustment.

700 buck rebate for these small upgrades do not justify paying over 1000 bucks more, rebate should be based on condition and age of peloton bike. Mine is a year old. They were supposed to come out with a rower!!!
Kimberley, that's a very good point you bring up, I would think the condition, and maybe even things like ride time, would play a big factor in the actual value. I don't know anything about the rower, maybe that will be released sometime soon?
There is a gadget to attach to the screen area on the basic Peloton bike that will allow it to rotate that much, its from a company called Top Form Design.

decent overview, but the image you have is clickbait. Its not a Full review at all. The video at key moments is blurry and this really spoils it and so many ads for a 8 minute video which is actually 6 minutes if it was not for so much B roll at the end

$600 for a screen that rotates, is slightly bigger, and is slightly louder. Plus it turns a knob for you (it was never difficult to turn it in the first place...). Not worth it IMO.
Check my new in depth review out, there is more to it that I initially realized. Its hard to argue against the value in the standard bike now at the lower price!

Same - pretty frustrating - I got my bike in late June so if I wanted to upgrade I would only get a $700 credit....so my bike depreciated $1500 in 2 .5 months....bs. Those have been some expensive rides.
Why should you get your money back? do you ask for money back when i new version of your phone is released ? do you go to the store 2 months later if a piece of clothing is marked down in the sale ? You got what you bought, no ones taken anything away from you!! If a company releases a new product they don't owe you ANYTHING!
@@sigunz Well in my opinion - big ticket items come out in cycles. Ala - your phone reference. I wouldn't buy a new iPhone in September when I know a new model is coming out next month (since I could wait and get the 'older' current version at a marked down price or decide to pay for the newer model). Same cycle for most high-end electronics also most vehicles. So if they had alerted people that a new bike was on the horizon, people could make their own decision to wait to see what the new bike would offer or purchase the current offering.
@@matthewbgordon Had you done your "homework" and looked into the bike before buying it you would have seen that a new Peloton bike has been talked about and on the horizon since early this year! it was due to come out when Covid happened and was then pushed back! Its not up to companies to alert you! and this is the first price drop/new bike since 2013! took me all of 15 seconds with an online search on google to find the following from May 6th: "5/6/20 - On Peloton’s Q3 earnings call, John Foley said that they still are working on new products, but the global pandemic has delayed those plans. They do still plan to announce/launch new products, but said they aren’t ready to reveal the timing yet on it. They did reiterate their commitment to having the best treadmill at a lower price point "
Please keep in mind that if you live in a condo or apartment the sound travels through the floor.

It's really interesting they decided to only do the Apple GymKit! perhaps there will be a software update in the future, but it may require additional hardware?
