I think the way his channel has been “dying” is the right way to see it go. It’s hard now to appeal to children on TH-cam these days without being obnoxious, especially because there’s such an overwhelming amount of content and what grabs viewers is often among the most extreme. Stampy was always genuine, sincere, and never exploited his fans the way so many children’s TH-camrs do now. He never pressured his audience to buy merch or “smash that like button.” It’s better for him to make content he likes than for him to try hopelessly to stay relevant, because the truth is that the only path out there for relevancy on TH-cam is one of greed, exploitation, and dishonesty. I have mad respect for the man. He will go down in the books as a legend.
Stampy is one of the few TH-camrs I know who made child-friendly content without being...too friendly toward said children. He's an absolute role model and a pillar of light in many people's childhoods. I will now be going to binge-watch his videos
Sunny does have a bit of problem where he claims that someone’s downfall happened when they either do everything they wanted to do and retire or just continue doing what they love with although having it be a bit less popular.
Literally the Mr. Rogers of our generation. The man was a legend and you could tell he loved what he was doing. Big part of mine and many other’s childhood.
@@theorangl7496 he just took a image of him standing at the front of the boat or what he was using, then he would switch to creative and fly to his destination and then while editing the video, remove the background of the screenshot of him on the thing and mask it over the footage of him flying to his location
No matter what happens, no matter how the world changes, no matter who comes and goes, Stampy will forever be a legend and a fundamental pillar of my childhood. Thanks for the memories and the fun, Stampy.
i thought this guy related to young kinds with a age demographic of between 4-13, but mentioning bob ross obviously showed he appealed to a older generation too
OnlyUseMeEquip yeah I’m proof of that! I’m a little bit older than most who watched him in his prime. While many kids were around 5-8, I was on the older end at 13. Those kids are now just hitting puberty where as I’m in college
when his channel was declining, he still kept going, collaborating, making wonder quest, playing other games and making his lovely world series. This man has helped raise millions of kids around the world.

everytime i hear stampy's voice, i always get a warm feeling as if the world wasnt so stressful and everyone around you is fine, i remember the times i watched stampy with my cousin and everything was care-free and i just wish i could relive them.. watching this made me just stare into the ceiling as my heart just felt tickles as i was remembering the memories, and i dont know if im either sad or happy... im just thankful.
He’s genuinely just a great person, even after his views started stopping, he didn’t care, he didn’t do it for credit, or money, he did it because he enjoyed it
I respect how kind and genuine Stampy has been through this entire thing, and I respect Lee for distancing himself to save Stampy's reputation. I still have a little packet of Stampy Cat pins sitting in my drawer from years back, and looking at them is just so bittersweet. He is an absolutely incredible person and deserves all the respect in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up making his own cartoon for children. He definitely has amazing potential.
stampy is my childhood and is the reason on why i do youtube today. he is the most nostalgic youtuber to exist for me. and brings me back to simpler times
Stampy, got burned out his audience got older and the new audience has gotten bored or just not into him and he stopped his lovely world which stopped his old audience to watching him so....Stampy was the one who got me into Minecraft and made me happy, he also made the world brighter just by talking, we love you Stampy! Your amazing!
i think hes the only minecraft youtuber that wasnt problematic. even with l for lee, he handled it really well and did a really good job to tell others why he left
Well, Stampy did lie about one part of the L for Lee allegations. Towards the end of Lee's appearance Stampy said that the L for Lee character was being played by someone else in the description of his videos (this is no longer there though). Lee, in his own video addressing the allegations said it was always him right until the end. So, you have to take Lee's word for that. But there wouldn't be much point in Lee saying this unless it was true because he left to protect Stampy's reputation in the first place. So spreading false information would just oppose Lee's own reason for leaving. Other than this, Stampy handled the situation remarkable well considering the entire situation (the nature of the allegations and Stampy's young audience). Not going into why Lee left as to not draw more attention to it etc.
@@bearmugs1408 yeah true but considering alot of people who watched him are kids, saying that he had to go on his own adventures is a good way to say why we wouldn't see him anymore
I love how Stampy basically just slowly stopped because he got tired of it, there was no drama, no change in personality and content, no shady stuff just a man who got tired
Don’t be too sad, he looks as happy as ever. He never cared about the views and live-streams all the time and you can tell he’s having fun with it. I recommend you go check it out. Not just for nostalgia but because his content is as good as it ever was
Personally I wouldn't say hes not doing well, obviously hes not a big as he used to be but hes not doing bad, personally i think if your not doing well you would be unhappy but he seems very happy, the thing about stampy is that he doesn't need money he said it in a stream he has his life sorted he just wants to have fun. Plus i still watch his videos and enjoy them and there are thousands more that also do and if people still like his videos i would say thats a win. furthermore he can probably get veiws if he wants to, he very rarely uploads a lovely world video but when he does they still get a million veiws he just doesn't enjoy it as much. Also i wanted to say this was not an attack at you i just wanted to say how i feel about.
@@supersplashgamer8505 yeah the comment that said we just grew up really was a perfect sentence, he grew up and just didn't like the kiddy vibe i guess, but hardcore fans will still support him to the very end, it's just sad that one of the building blocks to my happier personality was because of a cat that played Minecraft with a British accent was fighting a guy that wanted to steal his dogs to take over the world, im gonna check his channel out and if you see this, make sure to check it out too
The man has achieved the full life cycle of being a TH-camr. He made it to the retirement stage. He left an impact on the world and that itself won’t be forgotten
Stampy wasn't a parent. However, he managed to raise an entire generation of children and there is no one else who can or did do what he had. He was our childhood and will always be with us no matter what.
Y’all remember the lovely garden and the rules 1. No asking 2. You can only be on it if you sent some fan mail And did anyone remember the underground one too?
i still remember the intro: "hello, this is stampy and welcome to a minecraft letsplay video" i heard that so many times ansd its now practically pasted in my brain nostalgia hitting imma cry for about next three days
I used to have that and the way he said it memorized. Would wake up, turn on a lovely world video, and do his entire intro with him while my grandma sat there with me. God. Miss it so much, but I've just grown up
Though it's true. I remember when i was younger i loved his videos. Some how i grew out of, we all changed together. New kids now-a-days wouldn't know of Stampy unless they were there from the beginning.
Now it’s all fortnite, I remember I use to watch stampy a lot, hopefully these 9 year olds realize fortnite won’t remind you of childhood unlike stampy and his Minecraft did.
Yeah it was fun, even though I haven’t watch one of his videos in years. And yet I can remember events from a lot of the videos like it was yesterday. I feel fortnite caused the downfall of a lot of channels and games. And so I really just respect channels that have stuck to their ways. I’ll miss stampy but I’m glad I was able to watch his videos. I’ll always remember him and his unique way of making videos. ( especially the trip to the moon made of cheese, I loved it😊 )
Ikr i used to love his videos. Now i grew up and i dont follow his content but i still respect him for his videos. Its actually sad that kids on these days follow shit content youtubers and stupid trends like tik tok.
as someone who watched his videos as a kid and later went on to primarily be a detail builder whenever I play the game (thanks Grian), I realize now that his world from the OG letsplays are genuinely really impressive. Of course he had help but creating a world that has a sprawling and yet homey feel like that is difficult, and can only really be done right over the course of years.
His skill was in Minecraft but, he just grew up, he got tired of everything and he never got a break, he was the difference within all the other Minecraft TH-camr's He was polite, thankful, and an absolute legend, he was child-friendly, educational, entertaining, but he just wasn't fit for it anymore, people didn't like the minority of Minecraft in his channel, and begged him to start from where he left off from but, he just gave up, he grew up, children really didn't like this, so that's the reason they stopped, he started to replay unfamous games but, he just lost his spark, so Dear stampy We wish you goodbye and a thank you, thank you for entertaining the children, farewell, I'll miss your spark
Another problem was that Lee, the beaver like character was charges with false rape and abuse charges. It gave him a bad name for awhile Edit: I got this from another article, o didn’t realize that part of it was in the video.
Let him rest... let him be in peace... and let him be the person he always was when he had the beginning and chance to play with us in our childhood sparking people's imaginations and giving us our own thoughts of child's play... goodbye... StampyLongNose I will miss you and I'm sorry... 😔
We *all* grew up. He was an integral part of my preteen years and watching him made me really happy. I miss those days where I'd be excited for a new episode and binge watch his content for hours. But now I'm almost 18 and have graduated high school this year. I have realised that growing up was hard but with him, it all seemed so simple. We all just grew up...
Chase McHenry I watched him around that age too! Him and Squid were absolutely my childhood. I loved watching stampys series and all the adventure maps he and squid did together and much much more... good days XD
Stampy is one of few people who never did anything wrong to fall, it’s just what happened. I believe he’ll have some amazing new content for other people later in other forms, not just TH-cam. I probably stopped watching stampy back in 2015 or 2016. I started watching himself when I was 9, I can’t believe that. Years and years of just the same thing was just interesting to us back then. But once you realize all the magic behind it, you appreciate it less. And eventually you get older, and find interest in other things. It was a childhood well spent, and it’s what got me into minecraft. I had pocket edition, but I never would have gotten java if it wasn’t for stampy. I’m starting an rp this summer, and it’s hard to believe it was because of him (and also some other people, but I wouldn’t have found them in my recommend if I didn’t watch stampy). I don’t know how he stayed on the same world every day for year though. It amazes me.
I remember watching him when I was ten and his play-throughs were always so fun and carefree, I even watched him when I was sick. Now the nostalgia and just sweet nature he always has makes me wanna tear up so bad. One of the few you tubers I feel like has actually left a big impact on me as a person. ☺️
I'll be honest, Stampy is taking his decline like a champ. Not making a fuss, not blaming anyone, just accepting that he had a good run, and that the run will soon be over
I literally started watching him again not too long ago and holy crap, the memories from this guy just make me feel so happy, i remember when he would do little series with iBallisticSquid, i remember when he played octodad, i remember how he never left without his boots, i remember his favorite food was cake, i just really miss his videos overall. He was a great guy and it's sad that he's lost so many views
I loved him so much dude, I remember wishing and hoping I would be in his lovely garden, I bought merch and watched every video. I hate seeing people I watched as a kid not have an audience now :(
Yeah I think this hits the nail on the head. I personally never liked Stampy's channel because I thought his videos were too childish, but I totally get why people like him for that very reason
Thank you so much Stampy for helping me go through many traumatic things. I watched you from 2011-2017. You will forever be missed as a legend. I cried after I watched episode 401 btw (I thought that you were ending) 😢 I love you so much bro. Have a good life. Edit: It was 301
Yeah... I used to watch him back when I was like 7/8. I kinda watched strictly him because I had gotten in trouble in the past when I stumbled upon a channel that swore and my parents heard, but I knew he was okay. I watched him for a long time. But being in my early teens now I'm not quite as interested in gaming videos as a whole other than an occasional video. I kinda forgot about Stampy, but thinking back I'm glad he was around and hope he has a good rest of his life.
@@wrentheelf2656 same I used to watch him then as well with my sister and brothers we loved him. But soon when I grew up i thought he was cringe I even remember that Minecraft Christmas video he made Lol
I used to saw his vids since in 2015 and i stopped in 2017 because i just got bored and started playing Cod Black ops 1-3 and i missed him when i was 7/5 :(
It's a strange age for TH-cam. For many of us, it was just a funny video site for random stuff back in 2005-2006. Now it's been 15 years and the kids that once watched it have aged, and the direction the platform has gone is for monetization. It's sad, but something new and better will come around eventually.
I grew up watching Stampy. It’s so sad to see his channel decline. First Minecraft TH-camr I actually liked because his videos were catchy and really fun to watch. Makes me feel so nostalgic and quite upset to see. 😢
Man that comment *"his channel didnt die, we just grow up"* actually shocked me because of how true it actually is. If this video didnt come to my recomendations, i would probably still not remember him.Its actually quite sad to realize that we all grow up and forgot about him and even now that we got reminded of his existance we still wont watch him anymore. Its sad but true, *we did grow up*.
Yeah that hit me hard I rewatched that moment like 5 times now knowing that I enjoyed it so much when I was at a younger age (I’m still young 14 almost 15) but it’s still a huge shock to know that we grew up and it felt like yesterday I was watching him
Never really had a downfall just that everyone who watched/played with him just grew up in life which is honestly probably better than just falling off the internet
I remember he always wakes up eating cake and milk, then he goes to this flower garden full of signs where he puts the names of his fans. One of his series that I absolutely loved other than his main world is when he was playing skyblock with ballisticsquid.
I remember when Lee would always walk through the painting and it surprised me every time. I remember when on a Christmas video, and he put Santa Claus in his love garden... i ‘ m n o t c r y i n g.
Man, I remember: -waking up everyday hoping for a new Stampy video -getting excited whenever he would fight Hit The Target -crying when Lee left -Enjoying EVERY minigame he played -Always wondering how his Teleporter worked Oh man, the nostalgia... Edit: -trying to get featured in his Love Garden EDIT EDIT: - AmyLee :(
Damn, he just seems like such a nice, down to earth guy. I remember back in like grade 2-4, everybody in my class would talk about his videos at recess. I hope he reads this comment section just to know how many childhoods he made. I could ask anybody in my grade, and they’d all know him. I love how he doesn’t care about his views, and knowing that he’s making people happy is enough for him. Damn, I just love him. I remember him, and squid, and that whole race to the moon series. I wish I was back in 2014.
"His channel didn't die, we just grew up" Y'kno words couldn't be more truer than this, At some point, we all grow up whether we like it or not. People, things, Games, all age. All the children watching Stampy's video, including myself, we've grown up. Though, even if we may have grown up, that childish and imaginative Nostalgia will always be with us.
Thats what he was sent here to do people like him, DanTDM, and PopularMMOS inspired all of us now look at where we are playing online games like r6 and call of duty
I done see this as a downfall, he said on a stream that he feels more comfortable creating for a smaller audience. He’s a great guy, and he’s finally living the life he wanted when he was popular.
its how these documentaries work even if the creator doesnt mind something similar happened to a spanish youtuber called gona who does it for fun but hes on lots of lists of dead channels
Stampy is literally a puritan. An iconic, lovable, and unforgettable content creator that never forced his personal life onto his viewers, never cared about the money, and just wanted to have fun. Little did he know that he'd be leaving solid memories that we all still cherish to this very day. It was always about the journey to him and we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you Stampy
This man practically raised a generation by himself. I remember getting excited each Friday and I woke up early Saturday morning to watch his videos. I also tried to recreate some of his builds like his rocket ship which I know many people at the time did, but sadly, every good thing eventually comes to an end. I grew up and his videos just weren't very appealing to me anymore and I also moved on to other games other than Minecraft. I am 14 years old now and just graduated middle school and it seems like just yesterday. I will never forget you Stampy. Thanks for all the amazing memories.
i dont know what you mean by fake exactly, but i remember from a news report with him i think it was, he said that he goes in to creative on his lovely world and gets all the necessary blocks/items for that video's project.
Fiona Bury he said somewhere that his lovely world series lore like Hit the Target and obviously the rocket and ships were fake. But the building and material gathering were real.
I remember Stampy, he was a good creator when I was younger. I'm not saying he is a terrible creator now, I think he was great for his time. Lots of people who were viewers moved on, it happens. I still mention him when people ask me about the early TH-cam channels I would watch.
Same bro I use to watch him a lot but now I'm a Hitman 2, Team Fortress 2, and Hermitcraft guy. Now that I think of it... If he were to join hermitcraft he would get a lot of views.

i think hes the only minecraft youtuber that wasnt problematic. even with l for lee, he handled it really well and did a really good job to tell others why he left

-crying when Lee left
-Enjoying EVERY minigame he played
-Always wondering how his Teleporter worked
Oh man, the nostalgia...
Edit: -trying to get featured in his Love Garden
EDIT EDIT: - AmyLee :(
I remember trying to make his machines in my world and always wondering why they didn't work...
I remember finding out that the time travel machine was just editing and I was like "Impossible!"
Maso-Kun same I did the submarine and car in fact I bought Minecraft bc of the building vehicles that was really just good editing
same
i remember recreating his hot air balloon block for block and it not working. good times.
Stampy was my childhood, it's so sad to see his popularity decline
Damn, he just seems like such a nice, down to earth guy. I remember back in like grade 2-4, everybody in my class would talk about his videos at recess. I hope he reads this comment section just to know how many childhoods he made. I could ask anybody in my grade, and they’d all know him. I love how he doesn’t care about his views, and knowing that he’s making people happy is enough for him. Damn, I just love him. I remember him, and squid, and that whole race to the moon series. I wish I was back in 2014.
exactly.
just for one day, i wish i could go to the past an rewatch his videos. but have the same emotions i had in that day.
I can happily say the same
Same for me. I showed him to several friends and they were hooked. We loved watching his videos together.😥
I remember getting home and watching his videos all day long
"His channel didn't die, we just grew up"
Y'kno words couldn't be more truer than this, At some point, we all grow up whether we like it or not. People, things, Games, all age. All the children watching Stampy's video, including myself, we've grown up. Though, even if we may have grown up, that childish and imaginative Nostalgia will always be with us.
your a snowflake
@@attxckonanime3297 Minecraft never died, it has beat fortnight and will probably be here for a long ass time.
@@attxckonanime3297 well minecraft came back unlike almost every game in the world couldnt do.

@@naturality2134 yea, but I'll probably always come back.
This man helped an entire generation of gamers to find creativity
Ong
Thats what he was sent here to do people like him, DanTDM, and PopularMMOS inspired all of us now look at where we are playing online games like r6 and call of duty
@@Enderprofection I swear them three were my first yt I'd watch every day all day
Yes
trent Wortham I agree then 3 were my childhood but now I have started playing other games like rainbow 6 not cod but rainbow 6 siege yes
Till this day, I still go back to watch his old videos. Not just his, SkyDoesMinecraft's, DanTDM's and other old MC youtubers
Not to be rude but Dan still uploads videos and they perform quite well actually :)
@@fusion1203 yeah, he is still very relevant
I done see this as a downfall, he said on a stream that he feels more comfortable creating for a smaller audience. He’s a great guy, and he’s finally living the life he wanted when he was popular.
its how these documentaries work even if the creator doesnt mind something similar happened to a spanish youtuber called gona who does it for fun but hes on lots of lists of dead channels
he's our childhood and we grew up but we'll never forget that
It's comforting to know that his downfall has overall been a positive since he's more comfortable like this.
Dude is this you or not th-cam.com/video/tQqnB0xDidw/w-d-xo.html
Just know how when they refer to “children watching”...those children were us...
Noptin yes we were those children. Oh god I feel old
yes that was me. i would watch him everyday and watching his old videos just slapped me with nostalgia.. that was in 2013 btw
sis if you were a child then you still are now. this was only 6-7 years ago
clancy woods Considering the definition of a child, most of those people grew up and are now at the age of 11-19 so yes and no.
Dear god...
He shaped and molded who i am today tbh. would be a totally different person if he wasnt there
This man practically raised a generation by himself.
I remember everyone at school saying his videos were fake, and then other people saying they weren’t. Good times.
i dont know what you mean by fake exactly, but i remember from a news report with him i think it was, he said that he goes in to creative on his lovely world and gets all the necessary blocks/items for that video's project.
They were completely fake but fun
Fiona Bury he said somewhere that his lovely world series lore like Hit the Target and obviously the rocket and ships were fake. But the building and material gathering were real.
you are legally ill still takes time to make the builds tho
Same
I remember Stampy, he was a good creator when I was younger. I'm not saying he is a terrible creator now, I think he was great for his time. Lots of people who were viewers moved on, it happens. I still mention him when people ask me about the early TH-cam channels I would watch.
3:44 isn't that the hill were he build an creeper rollercoaster back in the day
Same bro I use to watch him a lot but now I'm a Hitman 2, Team Fortress 2, and Hermitcraft guy.
Now that I think of it... If he were to join hermitcraft he would get a lot of views.
@@alertedanemone7 Yeah, but it's a very different style of content.
Think about how his current style shaped you as a kid.. would you really want him to change and have other kids miss out on that?
Now “kids” content is mass produced trash. If I ever have kids they’re watching this series lol
Look at those likes lol
Lets be real, even though he doesnt get the attention he got from way back, he'll still go down as a TH-cam Legend
