Dave, I actually had a little bit of warping on one of my fins with the wood filler method. I ran some water over both sides and put it under a book with 100lbs of weight on top over night which seemed to have straightened it back out.
Is it worth putting a screw on engine retainer on this rocket? I bought one, but could save it for next one. Also, I was looking at Cessaroni motor case like you show here. 3 grain or 6 grain? Or buy a starter kit that has both cases?
Personally, I chose the starter kit when I first ventured into high-power rocketry. The retainer is a matter of choice. The bracket retainer used here seems to hold well enough, and is much less expensive than the screw-on variety.
It looks like you should have had the nut plate the other way around. So that when you tighten the screw up the nut plate will get tighter inside against the plywood.
I got my Junior L-1 certification with the help of this video thank you!
Glad to be of service.
Thank you for this! I had some trouble following the written instructions so this is super helpful!

Glad you liked it.
@@REAR_rockets I don't know how I missed this series in the first place. I am always looking for good videos on mid and high power construction.

Thanks, will do!
Underrated channel! Let’s get those likes up for him. TH-cam algorithm sucks.

Alvin the chipmunk in the center of the video cracked me up. 😂
That was unintentional.

That is a beast.... where do i get a launch pad for something that big?
I built my own. There are plans in one of the issues of Peak of Flight by Apogee Components.
@@REAR_rockets thank you sir... im working on one of your featured rockets soon and your tips and info is very informative
Question one of my rings has two holes, will that mess with anything?
No. It’s used in some kits but not this one.

It does when installed.
Good editing for 200+ subs
It's a Loc IV because it has a 4" body tube, Loc I has a 1" bt, the Loc VII has a 7" bt.
