@@boulevard14 - stop being silly mate. You can see the lie like the rest of us. The growth under Labour will not come because they wont give business the tax breaks they need to grow and create jobs. When the growth fails to materialise - then the tax rises will come. Massive tax implications for many ordinary families.

@@craigpearson2189 Dude the UK had a 19% corporation tax rate and the level of investment in the economy did not change at all - UK productivity has flatlined since 2008. You can't just say "tax cuts = growth" when it's not that simple, you're being too ideological. USA had a federal corporation tax rate of 35% for a while and they had much higher levels of growth and investment than the UK. Even with Trump's 2017 tax cut that cost trillions - it still hasn't paid for itself! The main that needs to happen for the UK is to improve business confidence and having an industrial strategy, an actual plan of growth which Labour is proposing.

Just hope Labour does not have to handle another pandemic/lock down or another burden on the people due to war. This has been stressed enough in conversations and canvassing - the Tories looked after those in work during lockdown with a furlough scheme that had to be paid for - hence the tax rises notwithstanding the rise of oil and gas prices due to war. I dread to think how Labour would have managed these catastrophes.

Labour essentially will take money from anyone who has got their act together and made a little bit of wealth (a house, a bit of pension, savings, investments etc) and gift it away to many others. The justification will be that we need better wealth distribution. Absolute nightmare potentially coming up with a Labour govt.
