    Lyrics:
    INTRO
It's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig?
And it's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig?
But, if it's raining in Manila, hindi kita maririnig
So, I'll be waiting in Manila kahit di ka na babalik
    VERSE 1
Maulan ba sa inyo ‘pag bumubuhos dito?
    Paumanhin at mukhang hindi ko
    Masasabayan ang ‘yong yapak
    Sa pagngiti at pag-iyak
Sa paglipad at pagbagsak ng araw-araw
    Sa pagpikit na lang kita
    Matitigan sa mata
    Sa panaginip na magpapaligaw
    PRECHORUS
Kamusta ka na? Kahit ‘wag nang sagutin
'Di ba nawala ang kintab ng bituin?
Sana ganun ka nga pa rin
    CHORUS 1
‘Cause, it's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig?
    Mahirap bang mag-isang nanginginig?
And it's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig
    ‘pag wala ang mga tala?
    Madilim ba ang mundo?
    VERSE 2
May kulang ba sa inyo na naiwan dito?
    Aanhin ang ulan sa paradiso?
Sakali madulas ay dati malapit ka
Ngayon walang kahati ng init ‘pag maulan
Sana naman tumigil na ang ulan
    PRECHORUS 2
Kamusta ka na? Kahit ‘wag nang sagutin
'Di ba nawala ang kintab ng bituin?
Sana ganun ka nga pa rin
    CHORUS 2
‘Cause, it's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig?
    Mahirap bang mag-isang nanginginig?
And it's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig
    ‘pag wala ang mga tala?
    Madilim ba ang mundo?
    BRIDGE
    PRECHORUS
Kamusta ka na? Kahit ‘wag nang sagutin,
'Di ba nawala ang kintab ng bituin?
Sana ganun ka nga pa rin
    FINAL CHORUS
But, if it's raining in Manila, hindi kita maririnig
    Nakahiga, mag-isang nanginginig
So, I'll be waiting in Manila kahit 'di ka na babalik
Andiyan lang ang mga tala, andiyan lang ang mga tala
    Saan mang sulok ng mundo

"Hindi ka ba nilalamig pag wala ang mga Tala?"
-In my own interpretation, it is like asking How are you doing, without your friends/family/love ones.
Are you doing fine even you are alone?
Tala represents the one we love. As im pretty much sure that our lives will be dark without them. "Madilim ba ang mundo?"
Deym! Knowing the depth of the song hits differently now. ❤️‍🩹
OFW here. 🤘🏼🥹 Rock on Lola Amour! ☔️

This suits the families and friends for all OFWs and those who are overseas to study or pursue their careers. Leaving one’s home is never easy, though for some it may be temporary, there are those who finds their life in other soil and decides to settle for good. Undeniably, deep in their hearts THERE WILL BE NO PLACE LIKE HOME. Memories made remain truly alive in their hearts and minds as they reminisce their happy yesteryears. Bittersweet but for betterment. ❤

Im the one who left manila. But eversince umalis ako i knew, manila is my natural habitat. Ive never been so much alive in manila despite all the chaos. I loved the chaos. Loved the culture and its people. And im coming back to enjoy what’s left of my 20s kasi di ko na maiibabalik ang kabataan. The money is good outside but the stress is as equally bad.

I always thought that "Rain or Ulan" in this song is a symbolism for Tears or Sadness. I thought "Maulan ba sa inyo pag bumubuhos dito" is you asking another person if they are also crying or sad just as much as you do.
It also applies to the chorus "It's been raining in Manila, hindi ka ba nilalamig?" which is like saying "I am sad (or crying) right now, how about you? how do you feel".
The lyrincs "Aahin ang ulan sa paradiso","Ngayon walang kahati ng init pag maulan", and "Sana naman tumigil na ang ulan" also hits harder for me thinking that "Ulan" means Tears or Sadness.

I also wrote not hundred percent translated in tagalog song which is entitled "Shes Gone" and I translated in tagalog song, but some understand the impact of the lyrics and some are not, although it is not hundred percent understandable to the original song but mostly will appreciate and subscribe and sing the song because its unique :-)...Just see the results..

I feel sad too kasi I relate to the song kasi aalis na rin ako ng Pilipinas soon. This made me think what the people I will leave behind will feel and think which is very sad :((

ang ganda pala ng lyrics at the same time pwede din na para sa ldr. nakakalungkot lang na may mga bagay tayong kailangang iwanan dahil sa pag abot ng pangarap natin. maraming taong makakalimot sa atin pero sa pagbalik natin umaasa tayong makilala pa nila tayo ulit. the fact na yung ulan din ang nakuhang concept it enties with our emotion of being lonely and cold. sana sa mga mga kaibigan ko at mahal ko sabuhay na sakaling maiiwan ko sa pinas sana maging okay ang lahat para satin. at sa gf ko na pagkauwi ko ay maiharap na kita sa altar. salamat lola amour for this quality with duality of sorrow and happiness. mabuhay po kayo

I didn't know this was that deep oh my... Akala ko literal na raining lang bhe cause this was released while it was raining, I was the first few people to listen. Knowing the reasons behind the lines makes the song more you're like able to connect with it and I'm kinda relieved na it actually means much more. Living and working overseas for more than a decade now. Aside from Ph I lived in two other countries. I considered myself lucky for the experiences I had. I also consider myself blessed to have close friends I'll trust my life with. We still keep in touch. Some on a daily basis, in an active gc; some on an irregular basis--like every couple of months. One thing is the same though--it's as if yesterday we were still attending our class in our rundown uni in Sta. Mesa, or starting our careers in an accounting firm in Ayala, or celebrating our small wins in a cozy pub in Phnom Pehn. or sharing a bbq in their home's backyard in East London talking about life. This breakdown of Raining in Manila made me appreciate the close friends I have along the way. I could only hope and wish that we never grow apart such that we will no longer recognise each other, I would prefer not to start our conversation with 'how are you'. Cause if I do, do they really tell you how they are? :)
Thanks for this Lola Amour! I'm a new fan and I'm immersing myself in your music for days now.

Exactly a year ago, I was supposed to meet a girl from Mindanao in Manila. I was full of hope that she would become my love, but she stood me up and didn't come to meet me.
Due to the storm, instead of in Manila, I landed at Clark International Airport. When I arrived in Manila, it was still raining. I was very wet, but the rain was nice and warm.
I had an amazing adventure and met many nice and helpful people.
I didn't fall in love with a Filipina, but I did fall in love with the country of the Philippines.
Hearing this song reminds me of my arrival in Manila and the loss I felt at the beginning.

Touching meaning of the song. The feeling of being left behind by a friend is as hurtful as having break-up with your partner. Sucks.
I miss highschool and college friends, decades after magkita kita iba na Sila pero ako ganoon pa rin yun pagkamiss ko sa kanila, you can't help but wonder if ganon din ba Sila. I just keep it within me.

I know the song is about old friends moving away for good but somehow i got a bit sad because it sounded like a friendship that was over. And you sometimes wonder if they think about you. I dunno that just parts hits me a lot because i had a friend that i had to end my friendship with them because i just told them my concern for them and they never bothered to reply back even after a couple months. It made me thought maybe im not as important to them as they are to me. But yeah that was just how the meaning of the song meant for me.

Masaya yung tugtog pero yung feelings na naeevoke ng kantang to ay lungkot at loneliness, and longing for someone and friends and family.

In the beginning of your statement about the migrants that moved in the city from the province. it's exactly what it comes down to, sadness. I moved here sa US when I was 17 and left all my friends sa manila. It was the toughest time of my young days then. Yes, we moved to have the best opportunity but it does not mean that we forget what was left behind. Moving to another country comes at a price. And sometimes, you can never fill in the gap that is empty. Life moves forward and you have to make a decision of you are moving with it or not.
I honestly do feel your explanation and it's emotional. after 24 years since I left, this song reminds me as if it was just yesterday. Great composition and best of all, your music touches the listeners. That's the best! Congrats! to you and your band.

Gagi I think I’m going to cry. I’m studying in europe for uni bumalik lang ako for summer, and I’m about to leave ulit in less than 2 weeks. It’s bitter sweet nga ksi you want to just be with your friends pero you can’t really stop them or yourself especially if you have an opportunity to better yourself. I sometimes wish na elem nalang ulit kmi to relive those carefree days, or even if I stayed nalang here to have drinks with them, to hear yung mga kwento nila. I am at a lost for words rn. I am sad, happy, thankful, and just a mess overall. Thank you for this.
Sincerely limited edition european boy na humiga in front of versus. Inuman ulit bago ko umalis hahaha

4:23 is a double-edged sword, kasi you don't have to deal with the problems your family and friends face in the Philippines but at the same time you want to help them and you can only do so much but not "physically" help them.
