You should try cooking with tvp (textured vegetable protein)! Been a vegan for a decade and it’s a staple for me. You can get it at a natural food store pretty easily. It’s shelf stable, you just hydrate it to cook with it and it’s like $3 a pound dry where I live and I can make soo much food with one bag! Perfect for tacos. You just rehydrate with veggie stock, then cook it like you would with other veggie crumbles

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe! Loved the pencil sounds, too. Also, I have an idea for you to try the next time you make veggie burgers. I discovered that by adding some cooked, minced mushrooms to the "meat" mixture, the end result seems more like ground beef in texture! Let me know if you get a chance to try it for yourself!

Haha I know. Technically oil is plant-based, but it’s not Whole Foods, so that’s the difference! But I’m still using it as needed 🤪
