Thank you Michael 💗 as always for being so in formative. I am planning and looking forward to consulting with you for my SF garde n in the very near future. Love all your knowledge, videos and input.
Yes, absolutely. You are coastal so most natives will do fine. It's when you get inland (colder) that some of the south florida natives will suffer. hope this helps. 😀🪴
Hello Michael :) My new goal is to "pleach" a tree or two in my backyard. I have no idea why people in the US don't pleach trees like in the UK gardes.
Hi Marta! Pleaching is so beautiful, but I like a tree bosque layout better, there is less trimming maintenance and trees can naturally form the semi-pleaching look, albeit a bit less formal. Pigeon plums trees/ jamacian capers/ Japanese blueberry/ Ilex cassine holly are a good trees for bosque effect IMO (informal pleaching)😀🪴
Hi there. Some more good natives for you are the native grasses ( fakahatchee, spartina etc) Another is wild coffee and american beauty berry is a great native that bears fruit for wildlife as does the florida native- darling plum......and there are more natives too, but it depends on where you live (coastal or inland) what are you specific native look are you interested in?😀🪴
@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN I've got all the ones you said I'm about 10 minutes from the beach so can grow costal and inland. Don't have darling plum yet but I just want everything I can get going for that jungle look
Very interesting your TH-cam channel. I have not seen a channel dedicated to plants here South Florida. You should make a video about evergreen plants in South Florida. Also , this channel have IG or Facebook pages to follow ? Thanks Mike !
Hi. New subscriber to your channel and I live in 10b. So glad I found your channel! I'm growing vegetables, but I'm planting Florida natives and I love them! They are easy to grow, low maintenance and have brought beneficial insects to my garden. I'm thinking in the future to make a portion of my yard a wild meadow of native plants and flowers. I currently have wild coffee, red stopper, fiddle wood, pigeon plum and scorpion tale. Found some new natives via your video. TFS.
Hi there ! Wonderful! Thank you for subscribing. And you are so right, natives are amazing, super tough and they help bring in pollinators and wildlife. Also, I hope your wild meadow flourishes, that would be sooo cool to see.😃🪴
Great video . but i will never go back to that nursery employees dont know much about plants I went very excited looking for native plants and they didn't even know the name of the plants. I left very dissapointed. I never give them business. Not a nursery for me.
The content of your video is very useful, but your audio sucks! Can't hear the other person talking, and hearing wind and cars passing too loud. Look into WiFi microphones. They can be worn on your belt clip, and the wire attaches to your shirt collar or on the shirt near the mouth. Seriously! This would probably be good if it could be heard.
Thanks. Noted. Got it. I am NOW on my third Rode wireless mic set with dead cats and I'm working very hard to correct sound issues. BUT I'm not an expert at audio/ video yet. Patience please. M
It was nice to see video of full sized natives. There’s not much info on them and even less video/photos of their ultimate size and look. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀🪴
Congratulations. From Ecuador. The planet need more ideas and people commited with protect nature

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with them. Thats a bummer.
This video should be renamed "Virtue Signaling."
