it always surprises me when ppl are surprised by his suicide. he's written soo many songs that are literally about depression. for anyone who has it, it's clear he was struggling with it too. the lyrics for this are especially sad because it was one of his more recent songs before his death.

@@user-vc5rp7nf8f Just because someone wrote a lot of lyrics regarding their illness doesn't mean that they are close to taking their own life. Most musical artists use their own experiences/emotions for the songs and it can be an outlet and therapeutic to put it on paper and say it out loud. They are surprised because even with all these very heavy lyrics in all their songs over the years, he still carried himself as a happy, quirky, funny and overall amazing human being who everybody knew struggled with mental illness, but thought he had it under control. It was a surprise because it literally came out of nowhere, since they had just dropped a new album and they had a whole tour set to start and nobody would have seen this coming with all those plans for the future. I don't even think that he knew he was going to do it at all, let alone when he did. Sometimes things just escalate so quickly that nobody could have seen it coming even if the lyrics over the years should be an indicator.

We tried, sometimes though it's hard to get through the darkness we can find ourselves stuck in. It's too easy to get trapped in the idea that nobody can understand. All of us who were in a similar place as Chester was saw someone who definitely understood, and it helped.

Seriously so happy to see you loving them. Yes many of us grew up with them, 20 + years of our lives were spent with them constantly. They are family. And they will stand the test of time thank you for reacting. At least for me. Thanks for mentioning the mental health side of things as well. As another person with severe depression, ocd, PTSD, anxiety, a.d.h.d (hyper focus) seeing all of this is awesome. I do have a psychologist and we use Chester and Linkin Park as a helping hand since they were so big in my life growing up and saving my life countless times and helping me make the choice to live. And Chester helped so many. As you can see in your comment section lmfao. But I'm glad you are here in this LP family with us. Welcome!:) This song is another one of my favorites from them so happy to see you listening and getting into them.
Yes they actually have quite a few slow songs. I have their entire library memorized, including unreleased songs. And demos. And I'm sure if you live them so far you'd love the rest of them. If they got you this far in you're stuck just like the rest of us. Gosh dang I'm feeling it again after hearing the song again. Fuck. Well if you ever listen to my rambles I'm happy or if anyone does fantastic and if not it's alright. Talking is a good thing when going through a hard time or wanting to share thoughts to in a way make a new friend and synergize with them and understand one another sharing emotions through something we both love or what not. Ok I'll stop. Haha have a good day, to whoever read this, #makechesterproud and make yourself proud in a healthy way. That's what he'd want:) love you all and love you Chester. Rest in peace man you deserve it. Everyone does but man you do to. ♥️👊🏻🤘🏻

I've stumbled upon your very first LP reaction video during my binge watch LP reacts. It's refreshing to see and hear the opinion/reaction of a person who wasn't familiar with LP tracks at the time of react(it's honest and not over the top reaction). Really happy to see you vibing on the 2nd react video and appreciating the vocals. Also thank you for doing the fundraising. One more light has become my fav song in the place of my old fav Numb. I would love to recommend you to listen to Crawling original release version first then listen to Crawling(one more light version) for future react video if you can do 2 song in a video because it's same song but different version and really want to see/hear your reaction and opinion on them.

Hey Ellie. Just discovered your channel and your Linkin Park reactions, which I'm enjoying massively.
I'm also relatively new (just before Chester passed away) to LP and discovered them while going through a dark time. Surprisingly, their songs help me get thorough those times, mainly as the words strongly resonate with me but also because it reminds me I'm not alone. The best reason however, is because I can sing along to them (badly) and rid myself of anger/anxiety.
It's true though, that once you learn of Chesters back story, the meaning of the lyrics are magnified 10 fold.
    Keep up the good work.

Landon Tewers is the lead singer from a band called The Plot In You (who share a lot of similarities with BMTH and who you should also definitely react to), has his own side project which is pretty much just him and he covers a lot of different genres, he has an absolutely incredible voice and amazing range. I have seen this video so many times, I don't know why it hit me so hard watching your reaction. I know Chester is gone, but somehow rewatching this video it made me think about how much I used to look up to him and wanted to just be him. I thought he was the man, I was always like man must live the life being a good guy and having a great voice, why could I not have been born as him he is so awesome. Obviously not knowing what he was going through. Then what happened happened. I'm just rambling but at least it bumps your algorithm. It hit me hard tonight.

I'm an old man in my forties, who manages to suppress my feelings very well, few things can pull a lonely tear out of me, and this song is one of them.

The back story to one more light was for a colleague that worked for linkin park & passed away from cancer but after Chester's passing this is the one we all started listening to took me 12 months to watch the one more light video because everytime I hear the song it brakes my heart 20 years of being a linkin park solider (fan) still raw after 4 years R.I.P Legend 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔😢😢😢😢😢

I’m pretty sure they came out with this music video after he had passed. Which makes it even more heartbreaking

His best friend Chris Cornell, who was the lead singer of Soundgarden, was best friend of Chester. They were there for eachother through bad times. But one day He committed suicide. And he dedicated this song to him. But surely Chester was breaking apart inside. And when Chris Cornel's birthday came, Chester probably couldn't take it anymore and committed suicide that day. This is so sad. I wish people with depression get help and get people to be there for them.

They put a lot of memories of Chester in here. They did this video after his death.

That's leaked footage. That song never made a music vid. It was a tribute when he passed. Really touching

6:23 Well a lot of their songs are slow depending on your tolerance. They have done loads of reworks like "adele's - Rolling in the deep". But at the very least "Leave out all the rest" was way before "One more light".
