Which will be next? Choice A is Lost Odyssey and Choice B is Blue Dragon! Both are linked in the description and on screen at the end to help decide where the series goes next. The most interactions wins!

I don't think Lost Odyssey gets mentioned enough.
How about a video on Infinite Undiscovery, very underrated Square-Enix RPG. FUN FACT = Ryo Mizuno, creator of the Dungeons & Dragons style Japanese RPG Record of Lodoss War which was famously adapted into an anime trilogy (Record of Lodoss War, Chronicles of The Heroic Knight & the spinoff The Legend of Crystania) actually wrote Infinite Undiscovery's story & lore.

Man, I remember hearing kids at school talk about Fable around that time which was rare, because I think video games were still mainly considered nerdy/geeky, and that wasn't a good thing yet. But something about the open-world rpg with "mature" choice and consequence, I think, intrigued even those "cool" kids (speaking partly out of hindsight). Loved it when I finally got to play it, but then moving on to the (in my world) unheard of Jade Empire blew my damn little kid mind. Everything from the combat to the environments, to the depth of choice and consequence, story, side quests, companions.... On and on... I was truly amazed. Had access to a modded Xbox with a HDD full of games, yet still re-played this damn game at least half a dozen times, each time marveling at all the different ways the game reacted to me. I actually just started Divinity Original Sin 2 recently, and am getting some of those same feels. Even nowadays, games like that are few and far between

I remember getting Jade Empire back in 2006 as a kid for my original Xbox. It is currently my favorite game of all time. I love the characters, the setting the concept, it's amazing to me, even to this day. I play it every year or so and still adore the writing, though as I have gotten older I see its flaws. The game is almost tailor made to an open palm playthrough. My favorite follower is probably between Henpecked Hou and The Black Whirlwind. I find their dialog to be super funny and entertaining, though I usually see TBW as that sort of older brother who is a sort of fratboy that has all of these stories of getting drunk and is a bit of a misogynist. I do like how there are characters in the game that I don't like on a personal level. They're not poorly written, just I don't like them as people, which as a means to comment on the writing, is stellar.

I will never understand why Bioware never made Jade Empire 2. One of the very few reasons I bought an Xbox for.
You never ever see Martial Arts-themed RPGs and as a lifelong fan of Martial Arts and Martial Arts films, shows, anime & games and also a lifelong RPG fan, Jade Empire was genuine dream come true. Everything about Jade Empire was brilliant: The story, the lore & world building, the gameplay, the combat system, the characters, the music, just everything about the game was (chef's kiss) extraordinary. We need more Martial Arts-inspired video game RPGs like Jade Empire.
FUN FACT: Nathan Fillion of Firefly, Castle & DC Animated Green Lantern fame voices the main character's villainous rival early in the game.

One of my absolute favourite games of all time! I'm also a huge language nerd, so knowing they constructed a language for the game made it even more awesome! Sadly, they didnt use the language to its full extent and only have a bunch of various lines that they reuse over and over, but just knowing they went so far as to make it at least a bit more than just gibberish was awesome!

This game actually has my favorite gameplay from a Bioware game. I actually do like the DnD-style turn-based combat, but I think this was actually a really fun action based combat system with RPG stats and leveling. The sheer number of different styles is awesome. It's fun using a different avatar every playthrough and tailoring different fighting styles to said avatar. I wasn't as inclined to do that in games like KotOR, where I just played as a scout and Jedi Consul every time, with little consequence on whether my combat style. Though, just like this game, KotOR still has a good persuasion system.

I love Jade Empire, am playing it again after about 8 years or so. One thing a lot of people don't realize is the voice cast had some pretty big names, Armin Shimerman, John Cleese and Nathan Fillion

Played this last year cause I really wanted to since watching the review on xplay as a kid. It’s a lovely game. Would love to see 2 on the next gen.

Love to see an episode on those often forgotten PS2 RPGs like Rogue Galaxy

Dude, you’ve *gotta* do Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines eventually.
I know the sequel is going through a lot of hurdles at the moment, but the original is an RPG *masterpiece* (with mods that is).

I second that, Bloodlines is amazing.

I'd love to see his face during the Nosferatu Warens section lmao

Played JE a few years ago, never got why it didn’t get a sequel, it was really great like all old Bioware games...it would be great to see a follow up set years after the first one...always felt a show set in the universe would be cool as well
Also, for future episodes you could do Alpha Protocol, The Witcher 1 and 2, Deus Ex: Human Evolution and some obvious ones like The Elder Scrolls games, the Fallout game and the Kotors...maybe the Mass Effects and Dragon Ages too

It's unfortunate that Jade Empire 2 will likely never happen. They even had some plot points they could draw from based on each character's epilogue. What would the West look like in the Jade Empire universe? Jade Empire is still probably my second or third favorite Bioware game depending on how I feel when I'm asked.

I had the limited or special edition of this game (the one with the red cover). It was the only game that all my sisters and I played. There is nothing like this game in term of theme, story, and style to this day. I really think that Bioware should remake or make a sequel to this game. For now, I'll continue to replay it.

6:48 Not sure how much that can be attributed to old school Bioware, sounds like they hired the right guy and he absolutely geeked out on the opportunity. I'm not a linguist but I would go utterly ham if hired to create a language for a video game lol.

I don’t know if you ever played the original Deus ex but it’s definitely one of my favorite games from my childhood. Wasn’t the craziest choice and consequence game but it had some. The skills also allowed you to play the game the way you wanted and built your character around

It's a love letter swan song for the original Xbox. The budget wasn't too huge but it was vital for prototyping facial expressions before Mass Effect.
