In Japan, the youngest most inexperienced employees of companies are often encouraged to give their oppinion first in a meeting because the management recognizes that their ideas, may be more free and not tied down by established thinking. I think that is the coolest thing.
Toyota was a big pioneer of that--James May did a bit where he talked to three Japanese automotive plant guys from the 1970s and three American dudes from the same era. The difference in responses was stark--the Japanese auto plant guys, even when they were young and new at the company, were always encouraged for their input, and all three agreed that they felt valued and as part of a team. The three American guys, who worked at Ford I think, told basically the opposite story: we slapped 'em together cheap, and if you had a "good idea" you kept it to yourself--you don't *talk* to the suits. That's why the Japanese killed the Americans in the auto sector: it wasn't just better cars, it was a better working culture. Always chasing improvement instead of resting on laurels.
Also in Japan if you have a certain last name that ties you to a farming family you will never become anything more than a farmer

imagine the prestige of being part of Kamaz team in Russia.. im a firefighter in europe and we still have zil’s 130 and 131. Europe likes to talk shit about Russia but when you get your europian firetruck stuck in the mud, you have to call for the zil 131 to pull you out. i live for those moments lol. to watch the zil131 being half wheel deep in mud, pulling another truck thats wheel deep in the mud with barely any effort gives me goosebums every time.. russians know their offroading man..

yes in western europe we build roads out of asfalt so we don,t need these old offroad firetrucks
@@thijs2411 i live in central europe with many vilages that have bad roads, especially during winter/autumn/spring:( unfortunately most of the times these are the houses that catch on fire..

Tatra in cooperation with suppliers such as THT makes very capable offroad fire fighting vehicles, both on its Phoenix and T815 platform. Just sayn.

Nope thier strategy they run with four trucks, obviously thiers chances to win are always high, the others like loprais, de roey, tatra buggyra race with single trucks. Kamaz master team strategies are clear they put the best team at fore front and the other 3 trucks work as support and supply trucks.
Huge company-huge money. Racing sport its just now only about money for development. This is reason why i love Loprais and Macik team and families. Own development, limited money and just pure love for motorsport. This russian guys do dakar because they Must 😂 Putin will be proud 😂

Think that's epic? I sat at my desk for 10 hour straight getting ready for a meeting. Then, 10mins. before the meeting the printer wouldn't work! Almost didn't make it!!!

because it not russian. the engine is liebherr , transmission ZF, both from Germany, suspension Öhlins fron Sweden and the tires are Michelin not from russia, racing chairs not from russia, oil total... and so on.. probabbly the chassis and the cab is made in russia.

@@vtkrey yes and no. everybody uses top components (who has the money), but not everybody makes from this a NATIONAL victory, like made in russia, all made in russia is tot performance! many russian don't realize that all the performance parts in that truck are made in the "decadent and aggressive accident", and they think that russia is the best at this too. They've entered this sport as laughable underdogs and yet ended up building an amazing team that became the most dominant in the history of the sport, that is definitely something to be proud about and I think you need to get over it, it shouldn't hurt you to see someone else happy.

Well, 22 years old doesn't mean unexperienced in Russia... especially if you're from a village.
If you're born in Siberia, you learn how to drive truck through mud and nasty stuff as soon as you're strong enough to stear and press the pedal to the metal! Which is around 12!

Not that it matters much, the top speed of trucks on the Dakar is limited, besides, Kamaz trucks are not even the most powerful. It's the TEAM that is filled with capable individuals, so when a champion stops racing a few others are already there to continue the tradition of being absolute badass.

You either are adept at something or not, if he didn't have the talent they would of signed someone else who does.
