Thanks for this video. I feel like some of the videos of these kinds of extreme fuzzes don’t really know how to make them musical, but you did a wonderful job showing the range it can have.
I agree the EHX Russian Big Muff is not the greatest pedal out there. I wanted to love it and it never sounded awesome to me. I'm waiting for the Warlow Alt Version right now. Have you checked out a DOD Carcosa Fuzz, I think it sounds super awesome!
Those are the CuNiFe Wide Range Pickups from Madlove Pickups! HIGHLY recommend them, I bought them from Australia and they arrived to my home in America in literally like a week, maybe 2. they are literally like half the price of the fender ones too which makes them sound even better to me! i have a video about them from a while ago on here too!
@@kuglepen64 yup! I run it straight into my interface and I have a Neural DSP amp sim on my computer, it’s the Soldano SLO-100 amp sim! As for the pickups I have a video about putting them in, they’re Madlove CuNiFe Wide Range Humbuckers!
in defense of the green russian, the circut CAN be killer! Way Huge makes the russian pickle, which in my opinion, is amazing, quieter, smoother, brighter than the EHX. The Union Tube and Transistor Tsar Bomba is an amazing boutique version. that being said, I have the Hizumitas on my board currently, cause it does sweep the Green russian no question for like shoegazey postgrunge or whatever teens are calling it.
If you put the toggle switch on the Big Muff tonestack mode, max all the knobs but keep the pedal OFF, do you hear a crackling/faint distortion sound in the background of your clean signal? It disappears or gets fainter if you roll back the distortion or tone/filter knob or if you switch to the RAT filter mode. I noticed this issue with my Warlow, sent it back for repairs and they sent me a completely new pedal and it has the exact same issue. I've tried several different power sources (all isolated, no daisy chains), different cables, different guitars and the issue persists. Sorry for the random question but i'm just wondering whether i've just had bad luck and got two faulty pedals in a row or if it's an inherent problem in the circuit.
i think it’s just a thing with the pedal! i noticed when i dime everything it does that too when it’s off so i don’t really turn it up all the way, generally i keep most things at noon personally, with the distortion around 2/3oclock to avoid it!
@@lifeinsteadofjesss Hello, sorry to bother you again but i've been in contact with JPTR FX about the problem we discussed recently and i told them about our discussion and that i'm not the only person who's having this issue. Apparently the crackling sound is not supposed be a normal thing and i'm the first person ever to contact them about it. They would want to know more so they can fix the problem so they asked me to tell you that you should contact them and tell them about it. Whether you want to do that or not is up to you, i'm just passing the message.
how do you handle the volume on the warlow? mine arrived this past few days and unity volume is nearly above 0, and comparing it to a rat 2, unity volume is around noon
I saw this pedal on your instagram and now this video has definitely sold me one!
Thanks to this video I've got the pedal on order now. Great tones & riffs man! Very inspiring.

This video sold me. Mines supposed to be here in a couple days. So excited
5:20 settings gave me whole -basement tone vibes immediately.

@@lifeinsteadofjesss What guitar is that exactly? can't find any JM's like it online.

Hey there! Are you running directly into the pedal and then to the audio interface? What are the pick-ups you have in your Squier?

@@lifeinsteadofjesss Yeah i was suspecting it might be a problem with the design of the pedal. Thanks for the response!
