Imo the trade was also an A+ for the lions given the sheer amount of amazing picks they got from that deal. Like, Gibbs, hutch, Laporta, and Brian branch and Penie Sewell just to name a few. And Goff has been great there and perfect for their offense. The fact that in just a few short years they’ve gone from a joke to perhaps the best team in football is crazy and that trade is a huge part of that.
Agreed. I feel like his logic is inconsitent. Like with Rams getting a superbowl I get the A+, but applying the same metric to the lions is wild. The Rams literally made it to the superbowl 2 years before they traded goff and we're still a good teams, lions had been awful for years when they traded away Stafford. That trade was what sparked what maybe one of the best rebuilds in NFL history. I feel like not taking into account team overall improvement seems really odd.
I’d argue that A is a good grade because what if the lions never win a SB with Goff and the core. Until they win a SB the rams have the better grade bc in 5 years the rams have won a SB and if the Lions haven’t, then the Rams won the trade. The relevancy boost and the Lions not being a meme anymore is true asf tho
As a Carolina fan, lets put that C+ into perspective by looking at a few stats so far: ... 2023/2024 QBR: 34.1/48.0 Points Scored: 2/24 Rushing TD: 0/4 Sacks: 62/29 HUGE improvement but overall it'd say from an F- to a D+ is a fair grade. Improving but tons of room to grow on the verge of a C grade. Excited and nervous to see next year
By your own logic you said that any trade that nets a Super Bowl deserves an A. So that means that the chiefs deserve an A+ since they got 2 post Tyreek Hill.
Yea I agree but it’s more so the opposite only lol. Like they didn’t win a ring because they traded Tyreek. Rams won a Super Bowl because they traded for stafford
how is going from never winning the division since the 90s to winning the division because of the trade not result in an A+. bad take on the lions grade
I feel like the bills grade should be way lower, Stefon diggs is a really good player but he was such a big baby they had to trade him away and on the other hand Jefferson is gonna sleepwalk in the hall of fame
I think A for Stef Diggs is very fair, some would say lower because we got the worse player and we never won anything with Diggs, but Diggs in my opinion was essential to Josh Allen’s development and without Diggs, I don’t think Allen would’ve ever turned into the mvp caliber quarterback we see today
Dude, Chiefs off-loaded a HUGE looming contract (Hill) and got rookie top notch players McDuffie (CB) and Rice (WR). Its a win for both teams but the stats show which team won much more after that trade...
I think you overlooked a lot of the moves in trades in regard to adjusting for cap. How much of a contract that a team has to pay or more importantly doesn’t have to pay is a major deal for it. Seahawks fleeced the broncos even more for not having to eat up as much of the contract, same for the chiefs with Tyreek. That and if an impending extension is coming that is enough to have good enough reason to trade a player along with draft capital. Still though that other pats of the explanations were well done
There is no way this dude just said Jameson Williams is one of the better WR2’s in the league… I mean he’s fine but he isn’t a good wr2. A good wr2 is Higgins, Godwin, Smith, Addison, Kupp, waddle, Diggs, smith-njigba, Aiyuk, Allen.
I dont think you can give the wilson and watson trade the same grades. Broncos and seahawks were both mid before the trade and are both mid today. And wilson playing well for the steelers looks bad for both teams While watson trade took one of the worst teams to b2b divsion titles and a playoff win as the browns had their very talented team crippled and will now require a rebuild
hey bro, just stumbled onto your channel and thought the video was pretty good. got one critisism, probably should have just "incomplete" the caleb willaims/bryce young thing. objectively speaking the williams trade if you had to grade it on outcome not future potential, it probably would be a D or D- for both teams. though bryce young is showing some signs of life, you can't claim he's been living up to the no.1 pick. and you can easily say the same for caleb. since you obviously value future or potential, i would have incomplete the grade on that trade since on field they've been bad for both teams. as for the question at the end, i think you're right about the grade for the bills and vikings. if the diggs thing didn't go sideways the last two years, i'd say it was an A+, but diggs became a distraction (I won't say a cancer, he wasn't that bad, frankly one of his best traits became the problem, the dude has jimmy butler's need to win, i can't hate a guy who just wants to win, even if he lets that get out of control a bit and starts demanding the ball, because he thinks things would go better if the ball is just forced to him)
I’d say this about Rodgers on the Jets. As a patriots fan Rodgers has been a top 15 qb in the league and is certainly not a reason the a jets sucked this year. I still understand the poor trade but Rodgers definitely hasn’t been horrible Edit: Christ this aged horribly after the Bills game 💀
It is so much worse of a trade. Minnesota did not become a worse team because of that, they made the divisional round at least. The browns made such a bad trade, their team made it further with their backup than their starter that they paid way more money for than should have been fathomed. The contract is a huge part of the trade because Deshaun required it for his no trade clause
In reality I think Goff is a B for Detroit since as much as he found it out he didn't win super bowl pre extension which Essentially means anything now isn't as result of this trade and more of free agent acquisition
Weird take. They also got Gibbs, Jamo, Laporta, and Campbell form the trade. All players who are positive contributors to the lions, and the trade was what sparked one of the most successful rebuilds in NFL history. Literally wild to say it's not an A imo. Imo it's wild to say it's not an A+.
@ambermurray2496 I always believe it's a reach to get a first round RB especially one that isn't a true RB1 since he splits with Montgomery, Jamo has not lived anywhere near his hype, LaPorta is good but it's important to see how he ages, and Campbell was also a reach considering yes he's top 10 this year but was barely starter level last year line backer being such a volatile position am not sure how consistent he will be. Then with all that Goff didn't win a super bowl before his contract ended. Which takes away a bit especially considering the Rams won their super bowl year 1 and we are still waiting on Goff to get his first ring. Also from cap situation Stafford put the Rams in a much better cap situation as Goff was more expensive and will limit them bringing everyone back.
Imo the trade was also an A+ for the lions given the sheer amount of amazing picks they got from that deal. Like, Gibbs, hutch, Laporta, and Brian branch and Penie Sewell just to name a few. Hutch, branch, Sewell were not picks the rams gave up. Are you just naming the lions best players haha

Shoutout to the Vikings front office for laughing at the eagles taking Jalen Ragor leaving Jefferson on the board for them to draft
Watson not F. He is the WT F

@@MatthewGeist1 I respect your opinion. Since the Hill trade the chiefs sured up their defense.
@@MatthewGeist1the trade directly affected the Chiefs chance of winning the Super Bowl
@@MatthewGeist1that trade allowed them to build their defense and oline
In my opinion the best decision Detroit made was to get Jared Goff and draft picks
9:03 thanks for disregarding 3 of those losses!
Tyreek trade is hard to grade, definitely the worst Super Bowl winning trade ever, but probably still an A+ cuz of McDuffie
Saquon??

I love the screen thing with the NFL games in the Background, where did u get that? 😅
would have been good to bring up the tunsil trade with how its shaped so many teams as a result
Ahhhh, no jump ahead button when fast forwarding a video. A shame i couldnt get through the sponsorship bit that much quicker.

Jamison "Dope smoker" Williams is one of the best #2s in the league? Hes arguably the worst 2nd wr in his division lol

As a Jets fan who's watched every game, he is DEFINITELY a reason we've been bad.
Tyrod Taylor is better
Decent grading on the panthers I would give them a B+ because they got a franchise qb so they got what they wanted
Whats that sport clock in your background?
Called a tidbyt!
What's the scoreboard you have in the background called? Love the vids btw
Thank you! And a tidbyt
