Same in Ireland😂 I live in Australia now and see this problem here. If you're going to build a home with as much structural integrity as a shed, expect problems!
At least termites eat a healthy diet high in fiber, so I suppose they deserve credit for that. Wouldn't want a million obese termites with colon cancer to have to take care of.
Because houses in America are built with wood. It's the cheapest option for the construction lobby. In Europe they build them with bricks, stone, mortar etc, and there you won't see or hear of any termites
Hello, we are the production team of SBS in Korea. We are preparing a broadcast about termites, and we hope to use it after revealing the source of this video. If possible, please give me a reply. The broadcast date is May 22, 2023 (Monday). Thank you.
Get termite service. Termites build the tubes because termites can’t live more than 30 seconds. They have to stay in the dirt or soil hence the mud tubes.
This is all well and good but the termites in comparison to this house are massive and are going to likely do so much more damage. I totally get what they're trying to say though
@@wildcard7451 you do realise every one outside of U.S and Europe does that due to wood being very costly but cement and bricks cheap, 0 wood is used. idiot, u don't need wood at all.
Termite to house ratio was off the scale lol…if that was a full scale house and the scale of termites to that ratio would be like a car packed to the brim with termites…a cars worth lol…abit much I would’ve liked to see this done abit better like 1/3 the termites or a quarter of that done with this test
“How do we prevent significant damage“… Hm…one aspect might be not using wood for everything in the first place and use bricks & concrete building blocks instead? Much sturdier anyway than these flimsy wooden houses.
@@roofermarc1 I wish I knew about this when we had our house built and before installed drywall after finishing the basement. I would've spray the entire house with boric while it was being built.
@@Methodical2 my house didn't get hit but my workshop did. I've since repaired it and gotten rid of the Formoson colony which was in a 300' radius of my shop. It took 3 months to kill them. @@roofermarc1 I've never had a termite treatment since we built the house and it's been longer than 10 years and on top of that my neighbor told me they had termites under their deck, shed (fresh wood sitting on the ground) and on their fence (untreated fresh wood), according to a pest company, so I need to act now, just in case they decide to travel my way. Yeah if you’re paying the cheap stuff they won’t do nothing for you but if you got a good company and pay them good they’ll obviously take care of you
Fun Fact: Termites are very closely related to Cockroaches. I can't think of a more fitting familial connection than that.
Fun Fact : people often eat termites right off the ground as they taste like pineapple and are a nutrient packed snack.

If they get NEAR and find a gap as little as 1/32nd of an inch and find wood it will happen to your house as well.

This is for you Americans building wooden houses. If you built yours out of brick, this issue isn't as severe.
