I had no idea Pam had Victorian memories. Victoria died in 1901 ending the Victorian period, which was followed by the Edwardian period. Pam is gorgeous, but much older than she looks, considering she has Victorian memories. 🙃.

I recently used normal dark walnut stain for aging and it was perfect for the aged brown look. Then I thought... Home Depot has lots of colored stains in small containers. Blues, greens, reds, browns, blacks. They are so much cheaper than buying the small prepared Tim Holtz stains...especially for the basic most used colors. I love this idea of a way to use up the paper I don't care for and make cards for people etc. Love this, thank you!

I have "collected" so many single sided papers that I bought but never used and this is such a creative idea to use them up. I love the idea of putting them inside a journal. Your desk cracks me up! So much creativity goin' on there and your mat looks so well loved! 😂 As for the Victorian Era, I absolutely think this is going strong still! I LOVE everything that looks Victorian and aged. Another good tip you have given is using those larger makeup sponges for inking! I have a couple I was going to throw out but I'm going to repurpose them into a crafting tool. YAY! Thank you!!! Hi Pam! Thank you for the inspiration. I do have many of the 12x12 papers that I can use for this project. The glue bottles you're using, I went to your Amazon favorites but I don't see that this bottles have a lid. I know they're for piping frosting but do they have lids? Please let me know, as I am interested in purchasing it but I want to know about the lids first or how do you keep the glue from drying out? Tfs GOD Bless

I'm an odd bird! I never liked the vintage look. To me it just makes everything look dirty lol....so in a way I hope it does go out of style for a little while. So many times I want to buy a journal and I just cant do grunge or vintage. But that is how I started making my own lol. Its funny we are all so different.

I love watching and listening too several of the ladies on TH-cam who have these "crafting and journal" channels. I get lost here and lose time, lol. I'll start in the morning while having coffee and before I know it, it's after lunch and my stomach feels like it's trying to munch on my backbone, hahaha! Anyone else do that?? Then I will find myself, the rest of the day, lost in making and creating most of the things I have just watched. My days will meld into one another. What a place too be though, when the world is going crazy! These videos and the amazing ladies that produce them keep me sane and gives me a calm and peaceful feeling. Thank you so much! Hi Pam, you mentioned about trying other inking ideas. I haven't crafted for years, & sold all my craft items. I will be making only one shabby chic recipe journal, using ur method of a book cover out of cardboard &:a center spine. But I can't decide on a paper cover or a fabric cover. And how durable either will be, But I want to add Lacy stuff, small dollies, shabby made flowers & etc, trinkets. Could u guide me as far as paper top / bottom cover as opposed to fabric cover ? I have a thousand questions. Smiles 😁 thank you
I tried junk journaling, but it just wasn’t me. I make tons of handmade greeting cards to mail to friends &.family, and donate to Cards for Troops and Cards for Cubs (for caseworkers to write notes of encouragement or birthday notes in, to kids in foster care). So, I think I can make this fun fold into a card! TFS!
Pam, You've shown us how to use paper scraps, billing envelopes, book pages, cancelled stamps, old letters, cardboard, stubs of ribbon & lace, thrift store books, newspapers and tissue boxes. I may never put another piece of paper in my recycle collection bin!

Pam, you craft like I do. I make a small area in the middle of my desk to work in, too. A messy desk is the sign of a creative mind, right??? Maybe it is because we are both in Florida. We live a little looser here, lol.
Try making a little cardboard sleeve to fit around/under the brad. That will give you enough room to wrap your string.

I love your idea for the “ugly” or “just not my style” papers in a paper pad. More than that though, I just love how you do something that doesn’t work on camera and you leave it in your video. I don’t know about other viewers, but I appreciate knowing that my favorite TH-camrs don’t always achieve perfection on the first try. Gives me hope and keeps me from getting discouraged. 😊 Thanks for sharing your ideas!
