I agree completely. Good points. I spent 8 years in Turkey, a Muslim country and pretty much experienced kindness and immense generosity everywhere I went. I was never harassed. There, I met many Iranians and found them to be so kind, warm and shared memorable times with them. Most westerners are so propagandized (and don't know it )and think only "the West" has the answers. We have much to learn and share with our Muslim, brown, black, and non-western brothers and sisters. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

That's good, so maybe things are better than in the late 80s when I was there or maybe not, I just read this, lots of info about continued repression of the Kurds in Turkey:
      (from The Conversation mag)
      "Suppression of Kurds
Kurds are often denied equal access to political representation, economic resources and cultural freedoms compared to the majority Turkish population. One of the clearest examples of their political marginalisation is the closure of Kurdish political parties. Since 1990, five Kurdish parties have been closed by court orders in Turkey.
This strategy has perpetuated the conflict instead of fostering dialogue for a political solution. In many ways, this approach mirrors the initial British strategy in Northern Ireland where criminalising and excluding Sinn Féin from peace negotiations only prolonged the Troubles... -"

@@Palestineisoccupiyinghearts Don't tell me what to do. You don't know me or what I have read.
I have a complete library on history of both Ireland and Palestine and even more on religion including museum worthy leather bound books on the Ecclesiastical History of Great Britain and Ireland published in 1702 during the reign of Queen Anne and many pictorial embossed travelogues on the Holy Land from the 19th century as I have been reading and studying for five decades since working in my father's bookshop in County Down as my father and grandfather were both bookworms, and many of my articles on such subjects have been published around the world in English and Hebrew, even though I may not be as well read as your erudite self.
If one is biased it does not matter how much you have read as you will not let truth seep in anyhow. In order to be reachable you have to be teachable, and that is not the case on here. 🙃
I also bought a library of leather bound books from a seller in Wicklow which are the bound Missionary Intelligence of the Anglican Church founded in 1809 as the London Society For Promoting Christianity among the Jews, founded a year later in Dublin in Sackville Street, now O'Connell Street, and which were valued on the Antiques Road Show to be worth £16, 000.
There is only one other library of these books in the world, and that is in the Anglical Library in Jerusalem, and the other is on display in my home. They feature where Jews lived all across the world with hand drawn engravings and are of historical value even to Jews for the information they contain, and I have written a 300 page book based on the Irish history of this Society, including links to Oscar Wilde, the Titanic and Cadbury chocolate who built a wing of the Jews' Hospital in Jerusalem in thanks for caring for Richard Cadbury before his death from diptheria after travelling on a steam boat on the Nile enroute to Jaffa, where I lived for four years.
However, now that I am terminally ill as a kidney patient with Amyloidosis, the rare disease that Martin McGuinness, the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland succumbed to, the manuscript lies on my desk as I have no energy to get it published, despite my story being published by Four Courts Press in Dublin in a book on Irish missionaries entitled A Road Less Travelled. I will try to obey your command to read more history and religion, although I do get very fatigued daily.
However, I find that on platforms like this being well read can be an impediment as folk will respond with caustic replies like "I'm not reading all dat" or "I don't need an essay." 🤯
So you recommend more reading, yet many on here cannot even read a full text! 🙃

The man who's funeral he attended is known as the Butcher of Tehran (overseeing executions of thousands). He should have gone to Iran to stand up for ordinary Iranians who weren't at the funeral, and for the Iranian disapora, who need the world's support. Just because the West is fucked too, doesn't mean we need to think the Iranian government isn't.

Lol you are both women? Women don’t have rights to legally fight against domestic abuse, lol so I could literally beat you guys and face 0 consequences legally, like maybe justice by mob, but thats unlikely when 66% of women face domestic abuse, as well if they don’t wear the towel on they’re head they can get 10 days too 2 months in jail, with a fine of 50k up to 500k rials depending. Women should really be on women’s side.

@@Champz2323Ok, let’s examine injustice throughout the world, not just in Iran. Right we’ll start with the hegemonic and imperial power which is the US and work our way down through a couple of hundred nations. Ok nothing to see in the US of A. No slavery, no genocide of the indigenous people, no near extinction of the bison(see Ken Burn’s brilliant documentary on the subject), no racial segregation, no 2.5 million incarcerated, no national health care, extreme poverty, homelessness. A clean bill of health there. Now we’ll look at the US’s sycophantic sidekick which we’ll call Squealer, aka Britain. There have been plenty of state collusional extrajudicial slayings in Ireland. Legislation has just been passed shutting down any investigation into these dirty deeds. Leave out your silly whataboutrey.

If we had to embrace the policies, morals and ethics of every country, any of us have had the good fortune to visit, none of us would leave our hall closet!
