Great scenery. Last time in Olbia in 1986. Head to Costa Smeralda to hang out with the rich an famous. Some of the yachts had helicopters on them. Nice landing.

Wife and I spent a month there traveling around the entire coast (did Sicily’s too) Had a great time as we do all over Italy 🇮🇹 We flew there in a spanking new a220 and the pilot gave me the grand tour of the cockpit plus gave me the flight plan (which I’ve used in my simulator many times!). Best thing about Sardinia, almost as romantic as Venice 😊 and excellent boating/sea excursions!
Great video! I notice on approaches that you are holding the yoke long before the autopilot disengage horn! Why are you holding the yoke while the plane is on autopilot!??

i have started flight school this year at 49 years old and im almost done my PPL. I will be going all the way to get a airline job , yes , its true , im going for it . Keep up the good work and encouragement DPG.
Yet another excellent video and, as always, the details and thought processes are well illustrated and described. The big news from my end is that my daughter recently moved to a major airline here in the USA and has been assigned the 737 (previously A319/A320/A321). She started SIMs training today. Sardinia is a beautiful place. I was there in 2015 helping with some issues at Fiume Santo Power Plant in the northwest area of the island but also visited Cagliari to get some machine work done. All very good memories and great folks.

I really like the the little 'Calypso' intro to the vids with your logo (Great logo!)...and then the chime tone familiar to air travelers as various info come up...I LOVE the info you provide...I love the way it appears and disappears from the screen...I love the interior cockpit view mixed with pov and map views...I love the background of jet engine noise and instrument klaxons...like the disengage of Auto-pilot...All in all you are producing amazing technical art, not to mention being a proficient pilot of a multi-million dollar aircraft full of persons who are entirely reliant on you. I admire you and am inspired by you sooo much! Thank you!
@@DutchPilotGirl Oh, there is a particular event in each of your videos that fascinates me and that I've wondered about: When you disengage the Autopilot and take control of the yoke, if that is the right term, I note that you must immediately start putting in many subtle adjustments all the way to touch down...almost as if you are feeling all the axis of rotation and correcting for them, as if the jet were a glider...Is that the sensation that informs your inputs...are you actually flying that huge jet by feel?...
A pilot lady that is so beautiful and kind deserves a big long kiss from all passengers. It was a very good landing! I surely can get all the kisses from those who forget to show up and receive them.

For a moment there, I though you were going to end up a little low going over the displaced threshold, but it was absolute precision - the "50" call out came at the exact moment that your nose crossed the line. Yeah, I get that you do this a dozen times a day, every day, but it's still cool to see just how perfectly it can be done.

Thanks! It's a separate system but we usually disengage them at the same time. The auto throttle disengage switches are on the thrust levers.
