My recommendations
Tribit stormbox micro 2 - $60 - 8/10 -
A really great sounding speaker at an affordable price and also very compact. Perfect for biking or the beach.
In addition, an application with an equalizer and a battery indicator is available
Soundcore Motion 300 - $80 - 7/10 -
Great sounding speaker with a nice customizable EQ and an adaptive EQ that changes the sound depending on position. But it can distort sometimes
JBL Partybox Encore - $300-330 - 9/10 -
A good loudspeaker with deep bass for a party. It has an equalizer app and has bass boost options that make it even better
will enhance the party. Additionally, there are 2 microphones in the box (USA) and 1 microphone in the EU. I even prefer the encore to the boombox 3. New models have now better battery.

I personally can say (they arrived yesterday) i like their sound. I have got too many of the newer Bose Products (Subwoofers, soundbars, open ears, …)
And you know what it‘s like a cuddly blanket that you feel in love with. Their newer line up has that distinct Bose, although heavily processed sound, you feel there is some black magic processing going on. I believe the company knows it‘s buisness when it comes to audio since they have been doing it since the 60s, 70s.
They don‘t blow me away. Although when I‘m tripping balls or high AF i like this magic that i talked about.
Also i wound‘t call the max a distorted mess but rather a clever device that’s constantly adjusting the EQ with their active equalization software, giving you the lowest of lows when listening at moddest volumes and sharp highs and vocals to give you the SPL for a small party.
Also i really like the materials Bose uses. They ain’t cheapo. But their prices are also high of course. They deliver most products with a style that no other company can match IMO. 21 yrs o. Me.

Love my bose MAX!! Very nice sounding. My new fav. Excellent clarity, and the bass is very clean. If u can afford it, its very nice product. If not, roll with plastic soundcore speaker. My current 2nd fav is the boom2. Adjust the EQ and its the best sound u can buy for 130$.
Max only sounds great when you are exactly in front of drivers, a little movement to up or right make it sound pretty bad, also its really boomy somehow, yeah like bose speakers

Xtreme 4 deserves better signature tuning, but is more refined sounding speaker. After finer EQ in another app, it more than holds its own.

The Bose was designed to be more of an indoor speaker, due to its heavy bass response. Most people will benefit from this indoors, where the bass can reflect off of hard surfaces such as floors, walls, etc.
The EXTREME 4 was designed to be more of an outdoor speaker with less low bass than the EXTREME 3 but with more upper bass & more well pronounced mods & highs playing loud & clear with a 24 hr battery.
Lol xtreme 4 have way less upper bass than xt3 but xt4 have more lows
@@DominikReviews The frequency response may be lower on the 4, but from what I heard on multiple comparison reviews, the 3 had the lower, fuller sounding bass.
You also have to consider what frequencies are being used for the crossovers. This does make a difference, regardless of frequency response.
@@jedolivier2688 Yes 3 was more fullboded while xtreme 4 had a bit more in 50-60hz region but a lot less in 70-200hz

I’ll stick with my 2 Bose Soundlink Flex’s. $400 misses the mark by about $100. Especially since the Xtreme 3 can be purchased right now for about $219.99.
Do you know if there is any delay on the sound for aux in with the Bose? like if you used a speaker with an aux out to this one, is there an echo?

Yup, bose is overall weird sounding but on low level listenings i prefer it over xtreme, xtreme is just really harsh at mids and highs, even after i reduced them

"Relying on deep bass" is such a weird term. It is hard and expensive to pull that off, it's a quality with value. So if JBL can afford that move, they are technically doing something right. Same with tops. All what is needed is different tuning on the DSP.
Each to their own. I wish you heard what harsh mids and highs really mean. 🤭 Then Xtreme 4 would feel just slightly elevated. 😂

Bose is sounding really muffled with eq on 0, while xtreme is really really harsh without eq...

The Bose Max has exactly the same problem as the Soundlink Mini 2. As soon as you don't have the speaker at head height, it sounds really bad The bass also sounds really bad

I am experiencing an issue when playing really bass heavy music at high volumes, with the Bose Soundlink Max, there is quite a bit of distortion more I than would expect, is this normal behaviour? Example of a song would be bad guy from Billie Eilish. Thank you for your help.
Yup i also can hear a lot of compresion and distortion, try maybe lowering all bands in eq or just lower bass band

Bose is not lose bass high volume and very powerfull bass to much heavy but jbl xtremen4 lose a lot of bass % 65 after volume because bose is premium sound
Nah, bose lose a lot of bass at high volumes, it can sound like it have a lot of bass but it just rumbles, there is no kick, jbl tries to have some kick but also fails, there is only this bass carpet, but bose is even worse, also i'm not sure about bose and premium sound, premium price ok but premium sound nah

Overrated
JBL Xtremes are mid.
They get outperformed by other small speakers.
And Vifa has superior sound quality.
JBL Boombox 4 better have deeper bass than JBL Boombox 3 Wifi, otherwise it's overpriced trash!!!
well boombox 3 wifi was already for me too bass heavy in deep bass region, it lacks for me mid and upper bass, it sounds just thin
