    The rifling in British Brown Bess's never existed, therefore the rifling was never "shot out".

    Wow, very surprised to hear that 14% of all British officers who fell during the war did so at Bunker Hill. Also, I didn’t realize that the long rifle was so present during the battle. I thought the Long Rifle’s greatest contribution to the war was during the Saratoga campaign.

    An American longrifle couldn't shoot 4 times a minute. The British regulars could go a long way in 15 seconds. Since the longrifle didn't have a bayonet Americans using longrifles were forced to run away after the first round or two. The American regulars used smoothbore French muskets with bayonets so they could stand and fight.

    As great an advantage as radar in ww2. Often overlooked by revolutionary war historians. At the battle of king's mountain every British officer was taken out in the first 15 minutes of the battle by rifled firearms
