  • In this lecture we are tackling proximal humerus fractures! We go through a case, shoulder anatomy, the Neer classification and treatment options. We hit all of the high yield points that you will encounter on your rotations and below we provided some questions that are frequently asked on rotations. Everything you need all in one video, brought to you by Student to Stud.

    What is the primary blood supply to the humeral head?
    What is the innervation to teres minor?
    What are the fracture characteristics that predict poor prognosis of humeral head ischemia?
    What are the muscles that create the border of the quadrangular space?
    What structures traverse the quadrangular space?

    Thank you. I'm currently in a sling and approaching 3 weeks since I fractured my proximal humerus greater tuberosity.i have been checking out videos to see exactly what it means and treatments. This was useful.

      Please tell me how do you feel. I broke 5 weeks ago i felt down from my bicycle. ו can't raise my hand at all. Can you raise up your hands?

      @Doron Dori I'm great now. I was in a sling for six weeks. Then I did two or three months of physical therapy. It's been over a year, and I'm great. Have 98% movement. I should probably work on weight lifting a little, but I do as well as I did before the break. I'm 69. Yes, I have no problem lifting my hand or reaching behind me.

    Hi Sir on april-2021 ORIF was done on my humerus fracture. Plates and screw are inserted. Screws and plates are part of the body for life time or it should remove? Kindly suggest me sir.

    What is Proximal Humerous undisplaced means?? Somebody if know share th answer. thanks in advance ..

    • @studenttostud8789
      @studenttostud8789  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A nondisplaced proximal humerus fracture is when there is a fracture but this has not caused the normal anatomical alignment of the proximal humerus to change. For example, say there is a fracture through the surgical neck but the shaft and humeral head have maintained a normal head-shaft angle and the humeral head articular surface is still articulating with the glenoid, this would be a non-displaced fracture. You can use this same idea with any fracture, if the normal bony alignment and position has not changed, it is non-displaced.
