thank you a lot for the video! this google drive feature annoyed me so much when I was studying in uni and tried to share something with my groupmates haha
so i want to remove myself from a lot of shared documents because i am unsure whether they take up space on my drive as well. If i delete the file (not the folder). If I delete it from my side, but the owner still sees it as shared with me, what's the reality? is it still in my drive? does it occupy my space?
two parts to this answer #1 - if the other person shared the files with you by sharing a folder with you, you can not remove individual files from just your Google drive. You have to remove yourself from the shared folder. If you are an editor of the folder, you can delete the file, but that **deletes it for everyone**. #2 - Files shared with you either individually or through a shared folder do not take up space on your Google Drive. (If the file or folder is under Shared with Me, it does not take up space on your Google Drive)
I have a question: we use the admin my drive to scan files to the folder. Gave manager permission to delegate files into perspective files in shared folders and then delete out of the same scan folder. When manager goes back into the folder, the files show up again and have to figure how where to start again to continue to organize files. Reworded. Epson file folder is in admin my drive but shared access with manager Manager logs in to shared drive to find same folder to send a copy of file to shared folder and then delete out of Epson folder to keep track of files that need organizing When managers logs back in, those deleted files from the Epson folder appear again. How do we stop this from happening or do we need to create a new system for scanning files and organizing
Interesting, I do not know why the files deleted would show up again. I would need to see the admin drive and what permissions are on it before I could answer this question. Likely the person deleting the files does not have permisson to do so, or there is another setting in play. Good luck
Hello friend. I shared a folder with a some people and I want to delete a file from the folder without them knowing I did. But it is showing on the activity log that I did. How can I delete the folder's activity log so that no one sees my action?
The key word here is permanent. If the file is still in the Shared Drive Owners Trash, it may be retrievable. If it was deleted 30 days ago, it may be permanently gone.

Hello friend.

How can I delete the folder's activity log so that no one sees my action?
I'm testing this Motherissupreme. I do not see a way to clear the activity log. It may not be something you can do.
What if YOU'RE the creator of a google doc that you shared with others. If you move it to trash, will it get deleted from the people you shared with?
Yes. The error message is it’s non-existent
wooohh 2024 baby!!!
I hope you are happy because I helped you Jeffrey.
can we retrieve a filed that's been permanently deleted in the shared gdrive?
The key word here is permanent.
If the file is still in the Shared Drive Owners Trash, it may be retrievable. If it was deleted 30 days ago, it may be permanently gone.
