    We own this one, but a 2018. Myself, my wife, and 2 year old live in it full time, and have traveled all over. Pretty much the same as our 2018, but with a few changes. Some better, some worse. We pulled the bunk and pull-out sofa, out of the bunkhouse portion, and put in a crib. Desk became a changing table. Turned the dining table sideways and pushed up against the wall, for a work station. Attached a high chair to the end of the island, and it is now the dining table for my small family. The A/C is amazing and quiet, and has kept the inside bearable during 110 degree plus, west Texas summer days. We also installed the stackable washer/dryer, in the closet. The loft doesn't get much use right now, but that will change as our little one gets older and starts sleeping up there, instead of the crib. Only had one issue, and that was with the bedroom slide leaking in heavy rain, if the wind was blowing at the right angle. But it was enough of a problem for us to take it in and have it looked at/fixed. We got ours for 60k.

    This is my FAVORITE layout overall. I would full time in this coach with all it has to offer. If you're willing to purchase new but the previous model I've seen them as low as $55k on RVtrader. Food for thought I suppose. Pretty incredible for the price.

    That’s my rig.
    Fits two families with ease. We have an expandable pole with curtains that we hang inside across the top of the rear slides which partitions the living room as another bedroom. I agree it needs a deeper slide in the bedroom, my only real complaint.
    I pull it with a 2019 Ruby Red F450 Platinum. Like they were made for each other.

    It's a nice looking rig no doubt. My issue is Jayco as a company. My past experiences with their customer service and warranty have been less than to be desired. For that reason, not only would i never purchase from them again, I try to make it a point to inform anyone I know who is looking at one to reconsider. As usual btbrv we enjoyed the video, its always appreciated!

      Luke K Ray I believe that Jayco has a 2 year warranty. Customer service and warranty work often lies on how good your dealer is. Also a lot of you may not know but Jayco was recently bought out by Thor Industries.

    I don't think I've seen any of your RV reviews that DON'T have a deep discount from the MSRP (which are absurd btw), which indicates to me that the discounted price is the actual dealer asking price from which you should negotiate your purchase. This "discount" is to make you feel like you're getting a real bargain when actually you're not, and to discourage buyers from negotiating for a better deal.

    This is almost the exact unit I have. We have the queen bed in the master which does give more space along with the stacked washer & dryer in the closet. Ours is also equipped with the Onan Generator, the Norcold RV LP/electric fridge, heat pump for the main whisper quiet AC and the outside TV. We are planning to remove the outside TV and relocate it inside as we have found it doesn't really work for us. Possibly going to swap it with the TV in the bunk room and move that one to the outside kitchen area instead which makes more sense to us. With the generator we also have 3x 40lb propane tanks. Between the hitch box and the suspension, it pulls like a dream. I definitely agree that a dually is needed with these units as the weight is higher and stopping the combo is much less white knuckle!!! Thanks for the great reviews and I look forward to more from your channel!

    Right on the money, had my 377 almost 2 years now and wish the bedroom area had a bit more space by the dresser and I do find it a bit tight right at the front door area. Couple of options people can get also are the euro bunk which which is a powered bed that would come down over the main sofa for additional sleeping option and the new Jaysmart safety lighting system which Is cool, so when you say turn on your blinker all rear and side running lights will flash at that same side as well to provide plenty of warning your turning, and has a rear backup light as well.

    • @dwightkohler9057
      @dwightkohler9057 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The smart lighting system is now standard on the 2019 units! We were worried ours would not come with it as ours was one of the first 2019 off the line but it is there. Also, the backup/reverse lights along with the rear camera are great for more visibility!

I've seen some basic quality finish issues on the Jayco rigs that I've looked at that I havent seen on the GD rigs. It was all basic stuff like exposed staple heads, flickering lights and such but for 90k I want near perfection .

    That model is running into the 430 sq. ft. limit that is prescribed by RVIA for 5th wheels. Any more than that and a model cannot get the certification, which means it cannot go to shows. This is one reason why the upper bedroom slide is limited in depth. In addition, they wanted to not have to crack the fiberglass like many builders do in the gooseneck portion of the 5th wheel. To limit those stresses, they kept a short slide.
    I also wish they had a deeper slide though.

    Not a fan of the bunk over the sofa in the den ... Not a fan of the loft but could be good storage space ... would be interesting to get to stuff... AGREE with you on addition of a small ‘coffee bar’ next to the den door ... would prefer the den door across from entry door as in the Eagle mid bunk .... makes that end wall of the kitchen sooooo much more functional!!!

    • @dwightkohler9057
      @dwightkohler9057 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can tow it but you will most likely be over the payload capacity of your 2500. You can "tow" anything but doing it safely and also STOPPING it are two entirely different things!! Definitely make sure to do your homework and be very skeptical of what any dealer says you can do with a vehicle/RV without having the paperwork to back it up!! Most dealers are out there to sell units and not necessarily do it in the most honest way.

    • @bishopgeorge1333
      @bishopgeorge1333 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's a little too big for just my wife and I and since we are not full timer their is no need for something this big so we will go with something and little smaller for us. Which my next truck will be a 1 ton in probably the next two or so years, also I think that for something like this a dually will be in order but anyway life is good.

  • @dedalliance1
    @dedalliance1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Dang, even 65k isn't 'cheap' but that's a huge fifth wheel. I'm contemplating buying a Fifth Wheel to live in while working construction to save on rent. I've been looking at a bunch in the 15k or so and under range because it keeps that's where a lot of 6-15 year old units are listed at.
    I'd really like one with a 4 seasons insulation package, Washer and Dryer hookups and it's just me so no need for bunks (Not that I'd turn it down if it had everything else I needed) but if there were one was a nice little desk area that would better. I'm not yet convinced on a fifth wheel or a bumper pull. The Pros on a Fifth Wheel is I could pull my small boat behind it while going camping, but then again a bumper pull I could throw a four wheeler in the truck and my boat up on a ladder rack. But if anyone knows any of models with the stuff I mentioned that would be cool and I can look them up on RV trader. Or if anyone just has a good brand they like I'm open to a lot of different ones. I just need to stay below 14k pounds. I wonder if Jayco has solved all the Outrigger issues in Pinnacle and Northpoint? There was a whole lot of bent ones at slide rooms that caused whole heap of slide issues particularly at kitchen slides (weight). Also there is a lot of cracking at bedroom slides, Jayco brags about their frames and don't use stress relief at the corners. Mines cracked 2 months out of warranty.

    You know I just had a good idea and I’m curious how long it will take for RV dealers to design this, which is why don’t they make a toy hauler style RV with enough room and weight capacity to put a small car like a Fiesta or Fit in the back? It would be really convenient but of course the weight of an actual car in the back could be a problem. Then again if you’re putting 2 side by side ATVs and a dirt bike in the back you’re getting pretty close to that weight.

    For the most part this is a really cool Floorplan, If I was looking to get away from a toy hauler setup this would really have my interest, expect for one thing. The windows, I really dislike those windows. You get almost no air flow through them. I personally would not buy any RV with those windows.
    Also don't like the thin outside storage doors, as you mentioned those doors should all be at least an inch thick, 1¼ would be ideal.

    Wait, nearly 17k trailer on 14k worth of axles?
    I've towed my 17k Trailrider with a SRW truck from Cali to Wisconsin and back through snow and high winds with no stability issues, dually isn't an absolute must.

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      17k is generally over the max rated towing capacity and payload of almost every SRW pickup. So even the truck manufacturers, who tend to overrate their trucks in this area, agree.

    • @JeremyPrattigmp2u
      @JeremyPrattigmp2u 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigTruckBigRV A 2018 Ram 3500 SRW with the right build will do it according to this chart based on SAE J2807 compliance: www.ramtrucks.com/content/dam/fca-brands/na/ramtrucks/en_us/towing/2018%20Ram%203500.pdf. I had a 2007.5 Silverado dually and before that an 03 Sierra 2500HD with the 8.1l, Allison and 4 dimes rear end, both pulled the Trailrider like a champ though the 8.1l never shied away from making friends with every gas station around. With the 2500 I never fully loaded the trailer so it weighed in at 15,750 on the Cat scales, the dually got a full load.
      I'm still really shocked that Jayco put 2 7k axles on that rig, even with tongue weight offload that just isn't right in my book.

    • @tomm_d
      @tomm_d 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremy Pratt , you’re forgetting the pin weight. Over 3k lbs of that 17k is carried by the hitch, leaving less than 14k to be carried by the two 7k axles.

  • @littlejonnyb18
    @littlejonnyb18 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to say that this is probably my least favorite layout of all the fifth wheels I've ever toured. I do love the amount of space that the kitchen and living area have but unfortunately the sleeping quarters suffer because of this and for a long campground stay of a week or 2 I think I'd be less than happy about this. I've come to find that I do like the living space to be either up on the 5th wheel with sleeping all towards the back, or the living space In the middle with 2 separate sleeping quarters, one up front and one in back containing the 2 fold out couches 👍
