most of you folks are really out here pretending you have a doctorate in music, huh? it’s a young ensemble, it’s not going to be perfect. you can’t have professional ensembles without having this. music education matters despite the level of playing. things could be better, but that applies to anything. i think this young ensemble is doing great for what they may have and what they are doing. i’m sure there will be more improvement. focus on the good that young musicians do, not just the bad.
@Keegan Lee You can give criticism without being mean, and unfortunately, that is what I’ve seen many people do on this video. Also, do not come for my grammar whenever there are no major errors (besides the fact that when I typed this comment one year ago, my phone did not have the letters capitalize automatically.) I get that sometimes young people can make mistakes and thats fine with me. They are still learning and I can understand but its a little rude to give hate towards young people who are still learning. I think it is good even if there are mistakes.
Every conductor is different, every band is different. If you're a good musician you should be able to change the tempo however you need, but if you're looking for one that is faster and probably the tempo your using, look up music from pirates of the carribean band medley and there will be a video that's thumbnail is mostly red, they do amazing all the way up until the "one last shot" but that song is difficult and they still did pretty well. If all else fails, just find the sheet music video, it only has two of the four songs though

My band is playing this arrangement and the slowness is agonizing since its written that way and we cant change the tempo because its being judged when we perform next week.
And also its just very faint because it is just a sfz so just very loud then soft. The othe instruments just cover it not even taking into account the decrecendo down to piano so thats why. It just cant be heard

tbh one lost shot was pretty good compared to mine.
There isn't that much dynamic changes and the tempo is so slow for the first part of the song compared to my band
