I know someone who's daily drive is a 4.2 Cerb.. He's had it for 6 years and loves it. He's a decent DIY mechanic, and has upgraded a few things, but always takes it to a Trevor specialist for its 12k service and tappet adjustment. He reckons its only let him down twice, and never since he relocated the battery.
Sounds like a bag of galvanised nails in a washing machine round town, and like Brian Blessed gargling Coal when you open the taps. He's stripped the chassis once, and says it needs doing again next year, but it's an amazing drive.
Haha he sounds committed to that beast - fair play! I’ve always liked the Cerb since seeing it on Clarkson’s ‘unleashed on cars’ when I was a toddler, but for me it will always be the Sagaris

Excellent choices lined up here mate. Didn't even think of the Cerbera for a sports car sub 20k. They really are BEASTS of car and sound insane. The 20k market seems to be the sweet spot now for all manor of cars and pretty new ones at that. Keep up the fantastic work!
£20k is definitely a good region now, although sadly all the cars I’m after are in the £35k bracket!

Actually the new Mercedes A45 S has the most powerful inline 4 at 421bhp
I prefer saloons to coupes because at 6 foot four I struggle to fit in a coupe without my head jammed against the roof. Great review JB. Pete 🇬🇧

There’s two things about the Mercedes AMG that I can’t stand. The first is that for pot engine which sounds in my ears dreadful for a car of this kind. The second is that dual clutch automatic transmission which having used one is so jerky around town it becomes infuriating.Thanks for another great review JB

Great vid, BUT a45s i4 produces way more power all around that cla you mention. Like in terms of hp it is like 70 from top of my head, so the final top1 claim is wrong by a mile

Not to be a nitpick but the CLA45 doesnt have the most powerful 4 cylinder, it might have been at the time idk but I think you might be referring to the new 45s engine in the new A45S and CLA45S, with around 412bhp.

Not that it’s a coupe but s3 saloon has to be one of the best looking cars within its price and power range
Worlds most powerful 4 cylinder is Amg 45? Volvo V60 Polestar is 367 bhp and came out on 2016
Coupés or saloons...definitely coupés. Especially 2 seaters, other people can walk ☺ Nah, I do like saloons but good looking ones are rare whereas most coupés look pretty decent.
Edit: On the 987, remember it was initially a 3.2 and then a 3.4 but with 295hp.
Hahah over covid I’ve started to question whether I need more than 2 seats... but post lockdown I might regret going out of my way to buy a 2 seater exotic and have nothing useful for mates 🤔
@@CarsWithJB They can drive themselves! I would rather have the extra seats but it would either mean losing practicality or having a bigger car. Will probably go back to that next time but I'm enjoying not having to read the width restriction signs intended for lorries!

@@JosephiGoebbeli theoretically, but i probably won't do it. There are some diesel enthusiast in Germany who do cary stuff, hp 313-400 and torque 630-900 nm. With just minor modifications, like 2-3k cost in total. That way, it does 0-60 in like 3,8 seconds?
@@fistofdragony3213 that’s pretty good. i’m a bit of a diesel enthusiast and would like to have a high-power diesel car. i’ve heard that 3.0 tdi Audi A5s are pretty good for tuning
I think i prefer saloons as they are often bigger and look more like proper cars and have more presence than coupés
