    Warframe is a HUGE test of patience, and that goes for trading and making plat as well, it's all about persistent small trades vs. a single big trade; the only things that are kinda viable as one big pricey sale are frames and rivens, but rivens are incredibly situational and frame prices are always in flux

    This is exactly the perfect advice for honestly anyone. As a long time player I only recently started loving doing trade chat things and really cleaning out my inventory. The amount of dupe mods I had that I was like "oh those are actually kinda valuable, I should sell them" was amazing. I was able to make a ton just off of mods. And now I kinda have an addiction to collecting prime warframe sets to sell for later. It's a very profitable plat maker (although you have to wait a year or more for the investments to be worthwhile) but it also takes into account two things I still love about warframe: the trading economy and running fissure missions.
    Another thing I love to do for plat is buying veiled rivens for cheap and the opening them and selling. Or if they're for a really sought after weapon I might roll them. Obviously that's the super unlikely scenario but I find unveiling rivens to actually be kind of fun so even just selling the unrolled versions is profitable.
    Another thing I still like to but is not so much as worthwhile is farming kuva liches. When the old blood update first came out, it was my ultimate goal to get a build for every kuva weapon WITH a 60% version of whatever element I was going for. At that time there wasnt transfusion so that would've been nigh impossible without trading. But with transfusion now its sorta a long time goal I'm still going for while making plat off some of the liches I don't want.

    Whilst I agree farming plat isn't hard, it's the method(s) in which you have to sell them that feels tedious and archaic.
    I haven't played in a few years now (so feel free to correct me if my info is dated), but selling plat by constantly typing in the trade chat, standing in Bazaar (which you have to be active/not afk), or list them in an external website, where you and the one messaging you (still) have to be both active/ingame to follow through with the trade.
    I don't honestly know why Warframe still uses an early 2000 mmo buying/selling system as their main (and only) way to trade goods between players. There's not even a proper mailing system, aside from gifting something from the store to a player..

      @JustBeans_Really no that's been around for years, what I mean is not having to go through all the hassle of sending a message, seeing if they're online, going to dojo, waiting for them to finish their trade while someone else is waiting for you to finish your trade, trying to maintain 5 conversations at once, over and over again, whilst you could be doing something else.
      What I would suggest is an in-game marketplace where we can list items to sell just like on the current market website, but in this case the buyer just clicks buy, and it's immediately bought and the transaction is complete. It could fairly easily have an offer system, too, that doesn't rely on the players being online.

    Once I realized I have more relics than I need, I started selling them. Turns out, I had a bunch of relics for vaulted frames, so they actually had some pretty decent value. I also open relics to get new prime items. While doing that, I also end up with some prime bits that are actually worth something, and currently my ducat threshold is 10 plat. Anything below that becomes ducats and anything above that gets sold for plat.

  • @c.Orange
    @c.Orange ปีที่แล้ว +5

    sell relics in bulk and get 500platinum, the dude who you sell them to makes 700platinum and next time he comes and buys 700platinum worth of relics from you and so on.
    even though you may sell at a loss you can get more reliably trades from people that keep coming back to you to make so on so "profit off of you" but you also get trades fater and easier.
    this is a valid market strategy because you win over the other sellers of those relics in the first place and make more and more profit together with the person that buys your relics and sells them slower and for higher prices.
    ive been doing this with lots of relics and ive got thousands of platinum this way so far.
    and i keep getting told that people cant make profit easy meanwhile these people that keep struggling get their wukong sets and try to sell those at marked up prices and wait for weeks to get the set sold trough trade chat.

  • @osholay
    @osholay ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Yes, as an on-off player for 4 years who rarely trades, I agree it's easier after time as I have things stacked up. And I completely understand sometimes it's hard enough getting one copy. I think relationships help e.g. I give stuff away for free (like a duplicate mod) and people choose to give me a relic(s) in return, or I've sold stuff in my clan e.g prime junk. My clans vets sometimes give free stuff to newer players if they need. But I get MC's point about playing what we enjoy as maybe we end up with duplicates. & as a more solo player, I found it fun playing with my clan more, and we brought along a newer player (mr6), so they got steel essence, opened relics etc. I sold some more common items last week e.g. ayatan sculptures, aura mods, less popular prime weapons, but I know even those can take time or have other uses.

    I feel like there used to be a lot more of unique ways to get plat in warframe. Rare mods like kinetic diversion suddenly became a much easier drop which made it fall in value. The elemental sets (like voltaic strike, high voltage etc) also dropped in value because they were introduced with baro. I used to enjoy doing farms for random rare mods with mission types that i normally dont run that much but since they drop in value there is no longer a reason to visit those missions. It feels like its much more linear gameplay to earn plat nowadays and its a shame.

    So- If any new players are looking at this, the warframe market is essentially a must have tool. Of all the stupid things that have bought me the most plat over the last few months, it was Syndicates that did it for me.
    you get the syndicate points passively, and if you actively go after syndicate missions to get the sigils/marks/whatever you can get a LOT that way. Each mod sells on the market for about 10 plat at time I'm writing this, and quite a few go for more- You mark yourself as having each mod in your syndicate, and only buy them when the buyer hits your party while you're in orbiter.
    Prime parts are an excellent starting way to get plat as well. Do spy missions/disruption if you want to generate useful things like other relics while you're cracking them, or exterminate/capture missions for speed.

    problem for me is if you only have like an hour or two each day or god forbid each few days
    you not only may have other things to do ingame
    but now you also have to get quite lucky with drops to get anything worth selling
    and even then the majority of prime items which to me seems the easiest to do that actually sells
    sells for like 5-10 plat a piece and sometimes you may get something that gets you like 30
    so on a good day i can perhaps get 20-30 plat which is certainly not that much

    Good advice, I think the "platinum per hour" is relevant when you think about getting that "critical hit deal" on an item.
    I used to be crazy about farming gold to "play for free" in World of Warcraft, and I realized that you can spend more time waiting for something to sell at a crazy price... sometimes literally months when you could have just sold it for less and had the gold in your pocket.
    Ultimately, the "gold per hour" was higher when things don't take months or weeks or days to sell.

Most of my plat gains were from the big sales (rivens and arcanes) but things like relics, weapon parts and random mods I find I have make a respectable portion of my plat. There's people in trade chat who are willing to pay 20pl for mods which aren't even that difficult to get.

I bought up the resources that people weren't using for cheap, offered more if they sold in bulk and I was walking around with a low level character with million upon millions of creds in less than 12 hours LOL! As you said, never bypass the small things, often, that is where you can make the biggest profit. Look at the market and see what people will constantly need and farm those things so that people buy them from you. I even did the same with another item because I hated the price of them on the market (they were barely usable but costed a fortune if you didn't want to farm the item yourself) so I made a pretty penny undercutting other sellers and even got the price permanently lowered to boot LOL! or you can just sell them as prime junk when Baro arrives, you still get a nice amount. Won't make you rich, but will cover your basic needs, like potatoes, formas and stuff. At least that's what I did last year. Now I'm on the other side. I sell them for ducats and sell the mods instead, takes more time as you have to wait a few weeks before prices go up a bit, but will get you more plat.
      (Quick math: a primed mod costs 350 ducats, that's 3x100 + 45+ 15, which would get you about 20-25 plat and the mods usually sell for 30-50, or if you have the endo to max them, up to 150)

I would spend HOURS trying to sell of prime parts and mods that were just "run of the mill" and i only had 2 buyers and made 80 platinum. Realistically if you want to make loads of money plat, you need to get lesser players on your friends list and target them. There is no "real method" of earning platinum in this game. Stil i find fishing on deimos sometimes a pain in the butt.
    or they trade me serten relic prime parts if they dont have plat.
