    Yes that spray glue was pants, I had to throw mine away as it also went brown. But glad it was not just me. Great trees, thanks for sharing your achievements.

    Hi, the idea with using the scatter for apple trees is genius and shows why we should watch videos even if you know how to do the topic. Thanks for the tip. Regards Simon

    Hi Geoff those trees are fantastic. My favourites are the WS tree armatures with sea foam and then covered in WS scatter, they look brilliant. I want a lot of trees in my layout, quite dense in places and that looks like the way I want to go. Thanks for the tip.
    Regards Chris

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Chris. They are definitely my favourite too. I’m going to try the same technique on some of the larger armatures too, I think they will work out well. All the best Geoff

    Hi Geoff. Excellent video. The box of trees from woodland scenic looks very much like Sedum spectabile. Got some growing in my garden.
    Keep up the good work.

    Wow, Geoff! These have turned out absolutely wonderfully! Together at the end they look amazing and will definitely make that brown hillside come to life. Can’t wait to see them on the layout. I think I like the sea foam ones best as they are less dense and look a bit more autumnal, but I think the important thing is that together, as one big woodland, the variation of individual trees is what makes it. Nice work sir. 🌲 🌳

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks very much Michael. I’m going to try sone larger armatures with less sea foam in the hope that I can add a little more variation. All the best, Geoff

    Geoff - really good video.
    Be careful with the spray adhesive. Most spray adhesive have a comment on the tin along the lines of "a single spray will create a temporary bond - to create a permanent bond you need to spray both surfaces". Spraying both surfaces on trees is a little hard. I have found that with just a single spray, after a fee months, and occasionally brushing the trees with my arm as I work on sections behind the trees, the "leaves" start falling off.
    After reviewing a number of other videos on tree building, I have tried spraying the finished trees with a spray matte medium and with a cheap hair spray. Both keep the leaves fixed to the trees, but the hair spray is a lot cheaper. I have also tried just giving the finished trees a second spray with the spray adhesive, but the result leaves the tree looking a little more artificial.
    I will be interested if any of your other viewers have had similar experiences with the spray adhesive.

      Hi Eric, thank you. So what I’ll do is hit them with IPA through a fine spray and a fine spray of scenic cement when I add them to the layout, I really should have said that in the video. All the best Geoff

    Hi Geoff, excellent video, i think making trees is an art form in itself and you’ve cracked it there mate. I was thinking of buying a batch of cheap Chinese tress and doing much the same and you’ve confirmed what I was thinking. Sea foam and armatures was the other way especially after watching Luke on Lukes APS and you. The effects you’ve got are great, but what I must do is get on with getting the track bed done and lay some track and not being distracted, lol! Thanks as always Geoff, John

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, haha I’m the king of getting distracted so I know that feeling well. The only downside to my method with the cheap trees is that they come out very dense but I think that’s better than the uniformity of them otherwise. But I think using a few different methods should give a good result on the layout. All the best, Geoff

    Hi Geoff, great video. I like the way you use the WS armatures with the sea foam. I might give that a go as I have some WS armatures that I gave up on but this method will turn them into great looking trees. Cheers John

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John, glad you found it useful. I definitely feel it’s the best way with the armatures otherwise they are not ‘bushy’ enough. All the best, Geoff

    Great job Geoff, liking them very much. I do prefer the sea foam variety as they are so much more like a real tree. Like you, I find the armatures from Woodland scenics need to be worked on, but good results in the end. Thanks for sharing, regards, Chris

    A great video Geoff, very informative and a huge help as I have yet to delve into making my own trees. The sea foam trees look particularly good, I’ll definitely have to hunt down some of that material. Does anyone else produce the sea foam material aside from gaugemaster? Cheers, Julian.

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Julian, thanks very much. I didn’t realise you watched my videos, I’m a big fan of your channel. I’ve struggled to find any different suppliers however you can buy sea foam seeds on eBay.... if you have green fingers? Lol all the best, Geoff

    Hi Geoff - Thanks for the video as I was wondering what method to use for trees . I do like the seafoam with scatter and the woodland scenics tree kit. The armatures look ok for small trees///////cheers Kev

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Kev, so after a bit of research I’ve discovered that you can get the armatures in a larger size so I’m going to try some of them too. Hope you’re keeping well. All the best, Geoff
