Pre ordered it a week ago, another week before it arrives. I'm excited for my very first vr, I was never interested because the headsets were too heavy and not comfortable to me along with I don't want to tether. I waited 6 years to hop on the band wagon, and then missed my opportunity to get the index and by the time they were available next gen was the conversation, so I waited. I'm excited
Would you mind sharing where did you preorder your headset? It seems extremely fast to get the headset in a matter of 2 weeks already when you pre-ordered just a week ago. Most stores show delays even up to end of April.
Hi Simon , great video! , xr elite has a great streaming performance so far , i was wondering if it possible to have passthtrough feature through this streaming session from a pc ?
I was thinking this was a stupid question but I also want to know. I don't *need* wireless VR, I'm just looking to improve upon my existing original Vive. Can it be used natively with SteamVR through wired connection?
Hello, I’m having issues connecting my vivo xr to stream vr please. I followed all your steps and the steps online but it just won’t appear on stream vr. What to do please?
I bought the vive focus plus headset and controller with charger and tried to plug it into my pc but it's not connecting to my pc (steam account) what am I doing wrong?
Very curious if you were able to compare WiFi 6 versus WiFi 6e performance? WiFi 6e is supposed to be able to transmit more data, so I'd expect it to perform at least a little better than WiFi 6. Perhaps even the perceived latency may be better on WiFi 6e? HL:Alyx, Pavlov or Population:One would be good test applications.
Virtual desktop won't be available for now. VD creator has mentioned that he has a few things to adjust (with communication from HTC) before it's launched in HTC store. It seemed like it should happen soon (this month)
@@mtherlihy i have only experience from quest 2 using air link, virtual desktop and usb c cable. For most games it seemed fine. Extremely fast paced games could be an issue - beat saber for example. However I've heard quite a bit of feedback from people using quest pro and Pico 4 paired with new Nvidia series GPUs and the latency despite being similar in numbers doesn't feel like it was on quest 2. One of the pro beat saber players told me that on Pico 4 when playing PCVR he was able to get basically the same scores that he gets on valve index. Meanwhile that wasn't possible for him when he used quest 2 pcvr wirelessly. So there seem to be improvement on the headset side as well as the new GPUs helping a lot as well. That's all I can tell you. This was enough for me to decide to go back to wireless. Ive ordered Vive XR elite. unfortunately I may need to cancel it and wait for quest pro price drop on 15th. One of the user's who got XR elite claims the FOV is pretty bad. Based on calculations of resolution and ppd i was hoping for something at least slightly close to index but it doesn't seem to be the case. His Reddit thread is in r/virtualreality. He also mentions several other aspects.
performance consideration. wire isnt needed but will surely improve connection. Obviously even better is a connection from the headset to the PC as well as a connection from the router to the PC which can be achieved through 3rd party because the wire included is pretty short. USB-B TO C will be cheaper but you wont be able to play and stay charged. That's all. USB-C to C is way more expensive.
@@Beezwax99GB Thanks Liam! It seemed like a funny technical limitation. I've been running Q2 wirelessly on a 6e setup (PC also has 6e) without any issues, looking forward to seeing one of these in person!
Should be all good on 6e for sure. He even says 5 is fine and that’s what I’ll be going with. If that fails to perform I can always go for the wire anyway

XR elite will be my first VR set as well! I haven’t ordered it yet: but I’ve set the money aside to order it at the end of the month
I like the updated tutorial as well. Straightforward and has all the information needed.
Brilliant, thanks!
Looking forward to your review for this headset. Not seen anyone actually put one out yet.
Virtual Desktop is coming soon to the Vive XR Elite and Focus 3. Far, far superior.

Can you help me out? I really need to know if I can do this with the cable. Mine gets here tomorrow and I bought a cable.

I couldn't get my steamvr menu to open with in the headset. Done the uninstall reinstall, verify integrity.

How do I cast native vive xr elite video to a pc?
Can u verify if latency is better than virtual desktop for competitive gaming such as air link over vd as I'm very interested in this headset

@@chadef555 how noticeable is the wireless latency at this point?

Thanks for this - is the wired LAN connection for the host PC a technical requirement, or a performance consideration?
