I used to play this game all the time! I especially enjoyed the tractor tipping mini games with Mater and The Radiator Springs racing Stages. Wasn’t really the best driver though. I was better at the Piston Cup Races but every time I had to make a sharp turn I would always hit a wall. But never the less I still enjoyed this game. Ah the memories 😏
I first played the PC version of this game a while after it first came out. I've had it for over twelve years now, and I also have the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions.
Way I see it, going around the map for Lightning is like taking a walk. Sarge basically puts him through boot camp when Lightning isnt designed for that.
This game had the actors from the movie playing their characters. Something that the other Cars games lack now. The only actor who plays his character in those other games was Larry The Cable Guy as Mater.
5:05 Shouldn't Doc Hudson be in his old racing colors in the game? He took them back when he served as Lightning McQueen's crew chief in the tiebreaker race at the end of the movie, and kept them.
Yes, I respect your opinion on that because that would've been cooler. However, I like Doc Hudson the way he is in the story, although you can still unlock his racing paint job manually and select it in Arcade mode.

It's a little weird that there's no music in the pre-race cutscenes, and that some of the cutscenes are at night when they should have been in the day. I know why that happened, though.
This was actually such an engaging story. Chick Hicks, the Road Hazards, Darrell Cartrip, Mia and Tia get more character development, we get new characters like Vincent, Fletcher, Count Spatula and El Guapo, and we get a nice sendoff for Doc Hudson before his death. Honestly, can we just say the story went Cars, Cars The Video Game, and Cars 3? Cars 2 never happened?
