Good morning. Respectfully, I sincerely want to know the answer to this! When Christ died on the cross, the thick veil in the Holy of Holies was torn in two, giving access to that Holy Place! To me, this says we can go to G-d ourselves, without the need for a priest to mediate for us. Jesus mediated our salvation and He intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father… I cannot yet reconcile the need to confess to a priest. I want to return to the CC, but this is a sticking point for me. Could you please help me understand?

If anyone thinks they can receive forgiveness from Jesus through their own prayers, ask them where in the Bible Jesus ever said they can do that.
