Hey David, as you are using this thing for 20 years, have you ever tried install it upside down (i.e. the main piezo element touches the bottom part of the bridge on the leg side, the spring is facing up = not at all as Fishman manual recommends)? I've just received mine second-hand V-100, put it on the bass side as you and was experimenting with this "position twist". The difference is like a night and day for me... with recommended Fishman position there is absurd amount of bow noise frequencies, while putting it upside down you get much more sound of the wood! (I was using it via Radial SB-4 D.I. for piezo pick-ups with 5MOhm impedance for its best performance and Fishman's recommended placement was nearly unusable even through this box)
I agree using mine for just as long, great review.
What's the difference in tone, if you wedge it on the G string side of the bridge vs the E string side?

Somehow my V-200 doesn't fit at the bridge as it is bit thick onto it. Do you normally carve out on the bridge to make it fit in this case?

Rosin dust will come on the pickup that can damage part of the pickup that is under the bridge

You are stating that you are using a 90 degrees cable, according to you "easier to use" and yet immediately after that you are shown using (after switching from the 90 degree) a 1/4" cable, very confusing to a newbee, by the way, what type-brand 1/4" cable are you using on your now you see it, now you don't switch?
Haha, yes, a 90 degrees makes it cleaner and less in the way for playing. I use the cable I have on hand and that what I did in the video. It’s a recommendation. I use Neutrik cables.

Im using Ableton and Logic, my interface is an apollo twin by uad. It all depend of your budget honestly. A scarlett with Reaper can do the job for less $.

Between the Barcus Berry and this, which would you say is better sound quality?
Its really a question of preference at that point. They are both good pickups with comparable sound quality. I found the fishman to be brighter than the barcus berry. Fishman is easier to install but the BB will move around less because you have to screwed it to your bridge.

listen, you convinced me to buy a Fishman V 200... as the sound/tone is ok... unfortunately, as is the noise of the bow feature and not to mention that you can't sing at a normal volume because exaggerated microphone
Hey there, fishman is a good jack of all trade pickup. It depends how you plugged it. If you plug into an amp the gain might be to loud but the best way is using a preamp like a paradi, a venue. You will be able to sing at the same time and control the bow noise

I don't know but it sounds so bass-y, you can hear the thumps of strings...
Yehonatan G yes, it can be bassy but have in mind there is no EQ. Adding a low cut would fix that easily. The goal of my gear reviews are to give an audition of the real true tone of the pickup. Most reviews would play mics or pickups through an amp and this is not a true tone to the piece of gear. Also, even if I put the pickup on the high string side, you wouldnt hear that much of a difference. With a microphone , you would a lot! Take it with a grain of salt, maybe its not the type of sound you want to work with. Check out my other reviews maybe some of it are more the tone you are looking for. Thanks for passing by. Cheers

Since you compared this to American Cheese, I thought you were giving this a really really bad review. If you'd called it domestic Cheddar or Jarlsberg I'd have assumed it's a recommended buy. I'm not the only American in the USA who'd feel this way!
Im a naturalized American but yeah I feel the same way. I would never associate American cheese to anything not third rate, tacky or simply poor in performance and taste.

Terrible Sound. Sounds Like a violin Synthesizer. The only pickup that can produce a NATURAL violin sound Is the Schertler STAT V PickUp
