Just stumbled across your channel, not sure why it showed up in my feed but I sure am glad it did. I am excited to try some of these techniques. I have already made cast sugar sugar cubes for Christmas and they are super cute. One question though, do you have any less advanced techniques that you could show. I have been watching your videos with my 3 year old and she is excited to get baking and decorating but the ones that I am going to try are a bit too advanced for a toddler. Thanks in advance
I love your videos and you have inspired me to more fun stuff with my cookies. You helped my mom improve her royal icing technique too. Will you ever have the 3-D transfer video you mentioned in this video?
Hi, Truida. I have two books - Cookie Swap and Ultimate Cookies. The first is more of a cookie party and general cookie recipe book; the latter is a beginner cookie decorating book. Both can be bought on my site in paperback form (juliausher.com/product-category/books/) or as e-books (see the "ebook" section under my site store). Thanks so much for your interest!
Julia M Usher The wonders of technology eh? Just like to say that your videos/tutorials are awesome. My pastry bags are nearly there (used a stapler lol). 😊
Felicidades por su maravilloso trabajo, me encantaria que pudieramos tener la oportunidad de tener toda esta informacion en español o subtitulados, donde puedo ver como prepara usted sra Julia M Usher el royal icing. su libro esta en español?
I've tried painting corn syrup onto pastillage figurines for shine. I've tried by diluting with 1) water and 2) alcohol, but months later (no kidding) it's still tacky to the touch. Perhaps it only works on royal icing? Thanks for your input.
What would you consider the maximum size of a royal icing transfer? There's an object about 4 inches long and one inch wide that I am considering making out of royal icing, but would it be too fragile to be practical?
Thanks! I have few ideas that might work. The nonskid idea is great! By the way, lol, was gonna splurge tonight and finally get your Ultimate Cookies book, but alas...it's now nearly $90! Congratulations on your book! Gonna keep trying.
Hi, Julia. How do you store royal icing transfers? What is the best temperature and location for storage? Where do you discuss this? Thanks in advance.
Thanks so much!! I worry a little about humidity, especially in the summer here, so I am thinking of getting Silica packets. I guess they are okay to put in the same container as the transfers as long as they aren't touching anything edible....?
Your stuff is so beyond what I can do but gives me great hope for the future, thank you!
Thank you - though with a little practice, I am sure you can do it!
I can't get over how cute the little glasses are!
Julia...I'm brazilian and thank you for video the transfer of glace. I loved ! Thank you so much...kisses

Julia, would you recommend doing royal icing transfers on cookies or just doing the design right on the cookie? for example, a owl?
Julia, I love the caramel color. What brand and color is it? Does it look gold?

Another Great tutorial. Thanks
Another awesome video, thanks for sharing your techniques. When you dry them over night do you just let set out on the counter top, or in the fridge?
Thanks again I am sorry for all the questions, but I am learning so much.
Where can. I buy your book. In. S. A. Thank you it's very interesting

If you rub a bit of vegetable shortening on the acetate prior to pipping, transfers peel of like magic when they are dry.
On the glasses for the caterpillar. You brush on corn syrup to give a shiny effect.
Julia M Usher Thank you for that. I'll try the liquid Glucose and let you know. 15:07 is the time stamp on your video😊

Hi Julia, can I use liquid glucose instead of corn syrup to make the cookies dry shiny?
thanks julia. yes i mean adding to the icing to make it shiny.. what would happen if i apply liquid glucose after the royal icing dries out?
That's a masterpiece.

susan powell I am having the same issue which is unusual because I usually find I have to turn down volume a little.
Amazing!
I notice you have extras. What would be the best way to store those miniature extras for later use?
Thank you! I was envisioning a ton a little decorations floating in a container getting broken!
Thanks! I have few ideas that might work. The nonskid idea is great! By the way, lol, was gonna splurge tonight and finally get your Ultimate Cookies book, but alas...it's now nearly $90! Congratulations on your book! Gonna keep trying.
