- F-15A in War Thunder is definitely a bumpy ride in the beginning. Stock F-15 handles poorly and gets only 2 9Ls. It was quite a struggle powering through research.
After researching everything necessary for air-to-air combat F-15 becomes an enjoyable jet. Great AOA capability, powerful engines, and famous Eagle nose.
Although those same powerful engines sometimes do like to be missile magnets even with periodic release of flares. I do recommend running reinforced flares on F-15.

I mean, at just a .3 difference in br, the f16A gets two 9j's stock, which can't even radar slave, let alone any of the all aspect shennangins

@@Somegoofballscrub how? The flankers never carried the Aphid (nato name for the r60). Only aircrafts that carried it were the:
Fitters, fencers, flagon, fishbed, foxbat/foxhound, frogfoot, flogger, flagon, freestyle,brewer, forger and fulcrum
Why aren't US mains talking about the best jet in this update which is the grippen. They can only cry of Russian bias
You weren't flaring properly for the first few matches. That didn't help.
And if you thought stock 12.3 was bad, imagine what grinding out a 11.3 like the F4J or Mig23 will be like for the foreseeable future. Some don't come with flares unlocked, in lobbies full of planes carrying 10 very lethal missiles. Oh, and if you ever do get flares and missiles unlocked, you only have enough flares to ward off 2-3 missiles, and all your missiles will be 1 flared.

yeah also the fact all PD got nerfed so by that all US planes got nerfed and all aim-7 are basically useless since they get chaffed so easily but ofc Russia gets to have the IOG and DL missiles so they dont need to worry about it
When did PD get nerfed?
There is no datalink missile in game other than the Phoenix. The R-27s are not modelled to be like they are IRL, so they do not have the ability to use datalink just yet.

BRO HOW DO YOU GET YOUR 7M'S TO WORK? I have been struggling so much with them tracking the target then flying right by them, or they will twirl off into nowhere without the lock being broken and explode. I have had 1 out of 10 hit there locked target firing at less than 10 miles with good angle.
To be honest I don’t know if I did anything different. Standard PD mode, prioritized shooting at high alt targets in head-on aspect. I had similar experience on F-16C when my 7Ms didn’t really feel like hitting at all.
F15 needs AMRAAM.
the early aim120 variants could totally work with the current meta, the ruskis get the ER wich is insanely fast, and the first 120 would be a good match

@@narcissus5970 you realize what a fox 3 is right? the amraam would let f-15 fire the best radar missile in the game and then go completely cold rendering all other radar missiles useless because you need to maintain lock, that would be stupid and overpowered

They do sometimes hit, but yes, they are unreliable.
