    I bought my Hydroconquest almost 2 years ago in the 41mm Sunray Black Dial, and Bezel variant. I wear mine daily for work and going out. I work as a Diesel Mechanic and I have yet to scratch the Bezel or Crystal. I'm amazed at how this watch has held up to daily abuse in dirt, grease, and oil. Not to mention it keeps time very accurately. No issues so far, Automatic is the way to go 100% for a daily driver. I love my Logines and will be getting the black rubber strap for it soon, along with the Sunray Grey variant with both steel and grey rubber bracelet.

    Nice video as always. With electricity price and mortgage rates rising in Finland I have to postpone my chase for Cal 400 Aquis for bit longer. Still wearing my Formex Essence 39 and watching some Teddy videos keeps my "watch hobby" alive. Keep 'em coming!

    Great work, Teddy!
    The Hydro was the 1st watch i bought based off Teddys videos.

    My collection stands at 8 with 1 additional being on a waiting list.

      @@TeddyBaldassarre i received an email from AnOrdain about 2 weeks ago. Informing me that they were seemingly cutting off the waiting list and if you were receiving this email than you spot was saved and some time over the next handful of months ill get a follow-up email for a deposit on my watch. If i interpreted the email correctly, i wont be able to pick my specific watch until much closer to its build time and my selection will be based on available models/colors they offer at that time. So im really hopeful for a model 1. But i have no doubt ill be thrilled regardless what variation i ultimately end up with. Probably not until 2024, maybe even as late as 2026, according to the email.

    i own oris aquis green, and believe me its a tank. And it so suitable for every occasion although its a sport watch. And main advantage is that it is independent watch maker which makes it more prestigious. I also opted for hydroconquest when i was going to buy but that seems to me a little same design for many watches while oris aesthetics were something different. The built quality of oris is more durable and robust then longines hq. So for me oris is winner. Happy wearing your watch. amazing review teddy, lov your all video.

    I have both the hydroconquest ceramic in gray and the oris aquis 400 caliber in black. My hydroconquest keeps better time than my aquis. The aquis wears better though. Doesn’t feel like it’s 41.5 mm at all. The hydroconquest does feel maybe 42mm with the crown guards. The oris aquis has a better crown, lume, and clasp than the hydroconquest. It has a better power reserve with 5 days versus 72 hours of the hydroconquest. I think the hydroconquest is more legible especially on bright environments where the aquis is a little on the reflective side. Both bezels on my watches are fantastic and no issues with either. The hydroconquest is a bit thinner and sits closer to my wrist. Finally, I paid nearly double for my aquis then I did my hydroconquest. While I love both and they’re “keepers” for me, I think I slightly prefer the hydroconquest just due to the case shape. I’m a larger guy and my wrists are 7 inches but my forearms are very large and I think they both look perfectly fine on my wrist. Hopefully this helps someone from an owner perspective

    I’ve owned both watches, which I bought each for slightly over $1000. Definitely enjoyed the Hydroconquest more. I wore both on their rubber strap…since I disliked both their bracelets. The Hydroconquest kept perfect timing +1 or 0/daily rate, while the Aquis ran -5 to -10 secs/daily. I would buy the Hydroconquest again in a heartbeat, since I’ve owned three Longines and had no issues with any of them. The slow movement on the Aquis drove me a bit crazy.

    • @MyMarsham
      @MyMarsham ปีที่แล้ว

      I managed to get the Oris cherry dial (Sellita) a couple months ago. Out of the box it ran +20 a day, with 0.5 beat error. Luckily I have a Weishi and was able to dial the BE out and get it to +1 a day dial up. I’d always imagined a $3,000 AUD Swiss watch would come from the factory with much tighter tolerances, but fortunately, I was able to correct.

    • @P47RICKOG
      @P47RICKOG ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyMarsham I own a HydroConquest in green and also just bought an Aquis New York harbor limited edition. I really was hoping the Aquis (since it's not even two months old) would come with the new in-house movement, but the Sellita didn't dissapoint so far (with a noticeable +3 secs at MAX.). The bezel I prefer on the Aquis cuz it feels more reactive and I also like the satin steel with the green mother of pearl dial. The rubber strap feels a bit more well made on the Longines but I prefer the Oris' bracelet. The clasp' is pretty much the same on both pieces but when It comes to the crown I feel like the HydroConquest takes the cake cuz when u tighten the crown on the oris, you really just give yourself a hard time when loosening it up straight away. I would definitely say they are both great timepieces and I love both of them equally.

    A very good comparison of two great well matched Swiss watches Teddy. If I were to add another category it would be the different strap options that includes 3rd party availability and that for me would go to the HydroConquest that would make the score even. As for my choice? I have an Aquis and not the HydroConquest (yet) so I would agree with the outcome on personal preference. Why did I get the Aquis? Well the bracelet is incredibly comfortable and it just fits my wrist so I've no immediate desire to swap it out after over a year of ownership. Another is that the date is at the six position and just balances the symmetry. Finally I love how Oris finishes the dials, the sunburst models look fantastic (blue, green, cherry etc) and the upcycle is just something else that I also really like but as they are all unique it's best to see it in the flesh. This takes nothing away from the HydroConquest though as it is a great range from Longines. As a comparison between these two for me I would call it a draw.

    I have them both. Very comparable yet very different. Just picked up the green dial variant and it's outstanding. Nothing else quite like it. They will live happily side by side in my collection.

    Hi Teddy, love your channel. Is it possible for you to find a unicorn watch that uses a high end movement but offers great value for money perhaps around $1000 - $2000 range? e.g. a TISSOT Gentleman with perhaps a higher calibre movement!

    I owned two Oris Aquis years ago. I own a Hydroconquest now. Oris bracelets and rubber straps are much better. With that being said, the Hydroconquest is an absolutely beautiful watch. Imposible for me to select one over the other.

    I have always had an interest in Longines watches particularly the Heritage Military. I have to say that the Longines HydroConquest is an attractive watch. If I am not careful I'll find myself going out of my way to buy this timepiece. I have too many watches as it is and must learn to tell myself, no.

    • @TeddyBaldassarre
      @TeddyBaldassarre  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Agreed. Also, they do a nice job developing a design language that is exclusive to them. The Aquis is an excellent example of making a modern dive watch without pulling too much from any one area from the past.

      @@TeddyBaldassarre yeah mine has a dial made from plastic recovered from the sea. It's green but has a sort of texture to it, every one you buy is unique in the texture which is cool.

    Fantastic comparison! I have to agree disagree a little bit on the movements-I prefer the smoother sweep of the 4 Hz vs. the 3.5 Hz movement. Additional power reserve is always welcome, however.

    Two terrific brands.
    I prefer the HydroConquest as it’s a little more meat n’ taters, which is what I look for in a dive watch.
    I enjoy so many offerings from both brands.

    Can we see a comparison of the Mido Ocean Star 200c green dial vs the Longines Hydroquest on green dial as well?

  • @allanandrews7247
    @allanandrews7247 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have both of these watches. I like them both equally but the HC is let down by the cheap poor clasp. I have (and have had) numerous watches with bracelets but the quality and execution of the clasp on the HC is up there with the worst particularly for a watch that retails got £1500. Longines would elevate the HC considerably with a redesign that could be retrofitted onto existing models. Are there any aftermarket clasps that would fit the bracelet?

  • @barrelbarrel1803
    @barrelbarrel1803 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The bracelet on the Oris is so nice. I'm still looking to move into the "luxury" watch level, so I've been shopping around. I held both the Hydroconquest and the Aquis alongside a few other entry-level luxury watches, and the Oris still haunts my dreams. I don't love how round the faces on the Oris are, so I didn't really love the look, but the bracelet really is good at the price point.

    I was torn between these 2 half a year ago. After lots of consideration, i went for the one with value for money - the Hydroconquest. With the price, the movement and the option to change between bracelet and straps...that's an easy win for Longines. Happy 'til now with my decision.
