    My two year old daughter requests 'shugreeee' anytime music comes on. So here we are for the millionth time, tiny toddler dancing in circles in the middle of the floor, smiles all around. Love you Jerry, youre the best.

    10/17/74 was my first Dead show. I love seeing these videos. Been a Deadhead since that night. Saw them a bunch a times through the 70's . LOv e' em.
    The wall of sound is so powerful, the sound so crisp n clear. Jerry was in perfect form, even smiling periodically. And the crowd was cool. And the air smelled sweet. :)

      You're right. I was a fanatical fan from '67 to late 70's. Saw them again around '90 and Jerry was definitely showing some wear. Last time I heard them was at Bill Graham Memorial in Golden Gate Park 1991. Was a great performance - they opened with "Hell in A Bucket" which Bobby carried brilliantly. The Dead were backing up many artists that day - John Fogerty's was particularly memorable with "Born on the Boyou". Jerry was gone a couple of years later. Hard to believe that was almost 25 years ago.

    • @elwoodblues9215
      @elwoodblues9215 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      clarkewi , i was at that show ! It was a good one for sure. I wish i could have seen them in 67. I love the early stuff. My dad was at all the fillmore and winterland shows. One of my first shows was the weekend at laguna saca race track. And that s when they made the touch of gray video.

      Kevin Donovan met an older guy today, said he used to see the stones in the 70s, but never got into the dead because of its following, damn shame. The Dead have one of the better fanatics, such sweet and loving people. Seems like an attracting point imo but to each his own I guess. Til next time

    This is the song that hooked me...1976..age 18. I came late to the game but saw the Dead live a few times (Chicago/Phoenix). Amusing anecdote: Early '80's concert at Compton Terrace/Phoenix...almost front row. Weir repeatedly screwed up the lyrics to Truckin' and Sugar Magnolia. Jerry peered over his glasses at Bobby with a sheepish grin mouthing the words "WTF?" Bobby did his hang dog Elvis bit look and recovered. Cool interaction no animosity..screwing up was part of the grateful dead concert experience. Jerry is always set apart but I heard it said by musical scholars that Phil Lesh is actually the most skilled and technically accomplished musician in the band. How true: take his base out and the songs lose their rhythmic flow. Underrated dude...
