Aizawa - "So listen, we want to fight the students hard enough to really challenge them, and make them push themselves to new heights in order to actually pass, but obviously we shouldn't automatically give these fights 110%, we're not trying to cripple them or anything." All Might - "Uh huh, uh huh. Got it." Also All Might - Kicks Bakugo into an apartment block and body slams Midorya into a bus by the spine.
But I feel like he clearly got the crying quirk from his mom too. I think her quirk was just misdiagnosed. She's just an esper with some mild telekinetic ability whose quirk is tear production. XD
I love how quickly they managed to transform lovable goofball dad All Might into an absolute, terrifying monster for this fight. The slight changes in how the shadows line up on his face, the greater intensity of his grin, it's such a great way to show just how much of a force of nature he can be. Can't imagine how much your average everyday villain probably shit themselves whenever they see this guy barreling at them like a freight train.
benjamin lammertz not really though, because the only people he's terrifying to are the people he catches breaking the law. a normal person walking down the street would be overjoyed to see all might, because it means you have the guarantee that everything within 100 meters is going to be safe from people running wild with their powers. how we see him normally, with the big goofy grin, being a dad to everyone, shyly asking midoriya if he wants to have lunch together, that's how most people see all might. but if you get in his way or harm the innocent, nothing in heaven or earth is going to stop him.
I've always been partial to 'Explosion Hero: Ground Zero', but I still have yet to see an official hero name for him anywhere. I think it would be a pretty neat way to close the circle on hero names if Deku calls out to him during a big fight as "Kacchan", which would in turn become his hero name, because it's what he was first known in the media during a serious fight and would be really difficult to change. And he will hate it. So in that way, Bakugo gave Midoriya his hero name, and this would make Midoriya give Bakugo his hero name, as well.
Love him or hate him, this is definitely a major defining moment for Bakugo. He sees how powerful All Might is, he's smart enough to recognize that they basically don't stand a chance whatsoever, and yet he STILL refuses to give up and STILL throws himself directly at that mountain of terror with a mad grin. It's tough not to admire that level of dedication at least a little bit. Also, in regards to the gauntlets, it's worth remembering that quirks are mutations of the body, so they can have components we don't necessarily see. In Bakugo's case, that could mean that the muscles in his shoulders and arms are just naturally thicker and stronger than in most people, to compensate for the kickback of his explosions (dude does have massive shoulders lol). Alternatively it could just mean he trained his explosions until he reached a point where the kickback hurt his shoulders, and then he just dedicated himself to improving his strength and resilience so that he could handle even the gauntlets without getting hurt.
Wolf6120 well I choose to love him at every opportunity I get, and I agree about him naturally having thicker skin or whatever for his body to accommodate his quirk
He has big shoulders currently, but they look normal-sized when he was a kid. My guess would be that he trained himself once his explosions started being too much for his arms/shoulders.
I hate him so much, his stubbornness and recklessness is something I hate in any character. But I fucking respect him 100%. He knows what he wants to be, he knows what he wants to achieve and he does everything in his power to achieve it without ever giving up. There's no way you can't respect him. A character doesn't have to be likable to be good and that's what I love about Bakugo
Step B. SW223000 Made me think he's actually used to being the villain. Back when he dethroned All for One, perhaps he was seen as one, taking everything All for one cared for away from him and smiling in triumph over their sacrifices
What also crazy is if you account for his power here, and compare it to what it would be at his prime, and it’s terrifying. All-Might is at 1/60 of his original power, has two weights on each limb, each weighing about half his body weight (so about 250 lbs). So that goes to about 2000 lbs, plus All-Might passed on One for All, thus weakening him even further, plus All-Might holding back. He still managed to destroy a city block with a single attack.
Bakugou has pushed himself to the point of self injury twice so far in the series. The most notable case is here when he fights All Might, but I feel like people forget the first time he did was against Ururaka.
They have a good reason to forget that...It was a tournament and bakugou wasn't going for the kill like he was against all might...If bakugou didn't care about injury he would have aimed that blast towards uraraka and probably killed her with half the power... Remember the reason uraraka was broken was because as she said he destroyed all her planning with 1 shot...It was a clear proof that bakugou had more than enough raw power to take her out at anytime
All Might DESTROYED Deku and Kachan. I imagine a scene like this back in the viewing room. *Denki and Mina come back from their loss against Principal Nezu and are real bummed out Denki: I can't believe we lost. We didn't even stand a chance. Mina: Ugggh! This is so unfair, having to face the teachers is too much of a jump from our current level. Denki: I know right? Anyway, let's see how the others are doing. *walks into viewing room, see's Bakugo get punched till he throws up, Deku get pinned down by a rail, Bakugo gets kneed in the chin by All might, he hits Bakugo with Deku, break Deku's back into a bus, and slams Bakugo into the ground by the face like twice. Denki and Mina: I think we're good.
They did it different in the manga, holding them all at the same time and flashing back and forth from their fight to everyone elses, with a longer section for Yaoyarozu and Todoroki vs Eraserhead. Deku and Bakugo won fairly early in the time limit and Deku was only able to watch the ones who hadn’t finished yet. Kaminari and Ashido took the entire time limit, so they were the last ones done
The “origin” episodes appear to be the episodes where the named hero solidified themselves as a hero. Bakugo’s drive to become a hero is almost unshakable. His biggest risk was the way Midoriya makes him feel (the strong being helped by the weak conflicts with his view that the best hero never loses and never needs help), and he almost succumbed to it. Now that he has faced it once and overcome it once (with help from Midoriya no less), he will probably never waiver from the path of hero. I liked Midoriya’s growth too. His two biggest heroes are All Might and Bakugo and he has trouble going up against both because he worships then both so much. Bakugo is Midoriya’s model of the path to being a hero. When Bakugo threaten to give up his core drive, it finally drove Midoriya to hit him. When Bakugo was threatened with personal defeat by All Might, it finally drove Midoriya to hit All Might. Midoriya tends to never defend himself, but he always, always defends others, even to the detriment of himself.
I like to see origins episodes like the real beginning of those heroes. Like those episodes will always stay in their heart even in the hardest times. Cause Shouto had his origin when he won over Deku because that's where he started to think differently. Same for Deku and Yaorozou
I feel like the episode is aptly named. Not only do we get glimpses into Bakugo’s past that made him what he is, but this was also a major step towards becoming a hero. He smiled in the face of defeat, he was willing (after a while) to rely somewhat on Midoriya, and also his absolute resolve to do whatever it takes to win regardless of the consequences. [s3 spoilers] I was never worried that he would become a villain when he was captured by Shigaraki, even though he might appear villainous, his resolve to become the greatest hero rivals that of Midoriya.
My understanding of the lightning around Deku is that his body is simply not strong/big enough to fully contain the power of One for All, even at the lower percentage of Full Cowling, and the lightning is just excess energy. There's an instance later in the series that i feel is best explained by that but ultimately it's just speculation.
Brandon Thomas lmao how is that a spoiler? Didn't say when he showed that lightning is not even that relevant smh it's not like saying *** it's *** grandson now that's a spoiler kiddo
did you guys ever realize that if midoriya and kastuki were actually fighting against a villain, katsuki sacrificed himself to save midoriya so midoriya could get out safely/ get help? this shows that kastuki truly has a heart of a hero. : , )
All Might may have been holding back, but you can't tell me that punch to the gut wasn't some form of catharsis. Like, he's been waiting to do that since they met. Lmao
The origin the title refers to is the origin of the desire to be hero. If you look @ what inspired Deku, it was All Might selflessly saving people in that TH-cam video, but Bakugo is inspired by an entirely different aspect of All Might's heroism. Really it's the origin of their viewpoints of what it means to be a hero.
On tournament arc midoriya vs todoroki, bakugou mention on "quirks are physical ability theirs a limit your body can take" thats where he also mention how he explain his costume design. Thats the answer on their argument about bakugou hurting himself
Jcfrosty Cheesebugga I feel like Kachan saves Deku too. Kachan inspired him the first time and he tried to send Deku to the exit whilst fighting All Might to hold him off. Kachan is just not over emotional like Deku. Even in other episodes Kachan shows he cares about the other students even though he insults them. It’s just the way he is. Definitely my favourite character
Jcfrosty Cheesebugga Remember, Deku wants to be just like All Might whilst Bakugo wants to surpass All Might. He's definitely more passionate to become a Hero atm.
Not sure if you guys were told already but theres a cool fan theory that Bokugos childhood friend with the wings was the guy that was turned into that winged nomu. Just thought it was interesting
Midoriya's Origin was meeting All Might and being told he could become a hero in addition to running in and saving Bakugou from the sludge villain; Todoroki's Origin was fighting against Midoriya and accepting his fire side in battle and going to see his mother for the first time in 10 years; and Bakugou's Origin was his fight against All Might here and working with Midoriya in order to win, which was a big moment of growth for him. Each of these moment basically redefined what it meant to be a hero for them, and it is so well done. Also with OFA it's an increase of power base, which means that their original quirk gets more powerful in addition to the increased power which helps with strength and speed. Bakugou was right when he basically said that All Might isn't powerful, he is Power. Great discussion, I can't wait to see your reaction to the season finale.
I love that people think All Might isn’t going REALLY easy on them. He could easily have ripped Bakugo’s head right off his body when he was holding them and could have impaled Deku with the fence post. He’s toying with them the whole entire time 100%. He’s trying to make it a learning experience. He’s pushing them right to their limit and still leaving a way to win. All the teachers have been going easy the whole time. They all left a way to win despite playing against the students’ strengths. Aizawa knew what he was doing in all the matchups. It’s true that he didn’t pair Deku and Bakugo explicitly on powers (he went with relationships), but Deku and Bakugo’s powers would only be so completely eclipsed by All Might. The only one who can just flatten their powers is Aizawa, and he really needed to be saved for Shoto. Deku and Bakugo utilize their quirks well (especially Bakugo), but they’re much more technical than Shoto. None of the teachers went all-in. Not even close. All Might is wayyyy faster than them, and he’s wearing well over 250 pounds of extra weights and is at a mere fraction of his peak strength. Bakugo only begins to recognize this when he says “he’s not just powerful... he IS power.”
I've been rewatching a lot of HxH and now i wanna see them react to that damn anime. I know it might take about 3 years but still it would be a pretty great reacting series.
What I find funny is that you would think Aizawa would be the one to go hard on his students and All Might to go easy on his, but it was the reverse! Aizawa was the softie, and All Might was a complete savage lol. My favorite moment has got to be when he used Deku as a fly swatter to hit Bakugo xD
A lot of the :Origin episodes are the big changing points for heros to where they start on their path to becoming the great heros they will be in the future
why people always come out with theories that All Might already has a quirk before receiving One for All when he already and clearly said it during tournament arc that he was quirkless? i mean, what else prove you guys need when the truth already being said by the man himself??
It comes from the belief Toshinori’s “buff” form isn’t tied to One for All since he’s still able to temporarily use it even after One for All is completely used up. Leading people to think that his “real quirk” is making himself appear buff since Deku has used One for All for a while now and he never gets that shredded. Nana was also never shown like that but she was barely shown at all anyway. Toshinori telling Deku that he was quirkless was a lie he had to tell
Kevin Barragan Except for the part where he literally explains that it's an extension from OfA, which he likened to puffing your chest up with air to look big. Deku creates odd green lightning while he uses One For All properly like All Might, but that's obviously not a different quirk. Why should buffing up be his?
Kevin Barragan i think people tend to forget one simple thing, the so called "buff" form is his actual form, its something he became after years of training, it just simply him putting up a muscle while the "skinny" form that he use now is just his true form AFTER he receive injuries from All for One
Deku should be able to maneuver in the air as well, little smashes in the air should be enough to push himself in different directions just like how All Might's "New Hampshire Smash" pushed him back into Deku.
Lmao! The ass slap segment was hilarious! Brings a whole new meaning to the Plus Ultra motto!😂 This is a great episode! Really delves into the strained relationship between Deku and Bakugo. It is kinda satisfying to see Bakugo get his ass kicked. All Might did not hold back on them when acting as the villain! Jesus! Still gives me chills when Deku punches All Might with a smile on his face and he runs the same way he did in the second episode of Season 1. A really awesome episode! :)
One theory I like for All Might is that he had a quirk that is normally completely useless and its that it allows him to return his muscle mass to the point is at its strongest at the cost of his own stamina. So its not until he lost his stomach and became incredibly malnourished that it was useful and the only reason he even has the stamina to do it is because he is drawing on the power reserve of One For All.
With that scene where Deku comes to save Bakugo it always makes me a bit bitter, everyone praises Deku for being so selfless and going after Bakugo to save him where he could just run and pass the exam, but Bakugo was ready to do the same thing. He jumped in front of Deku and told him to run but he doesn’t get the same praise.
I think the main difference here is that Bakugo’s sacrifices tend to be self-serving, whereas Deku’s tend to be more selfless. Yes, Bakugo jumped in front and told Deku to run, but only because he wanted to pass the exam. It wasn’t out of any particular concern for Deku’s safety. In contrast, Deku was home free and could have gotten out of the gate, but turned back when he saw Bakugo getting wrecked by All Might. In doing so, Deku could have been captured or incapacitated and caused them both to fail (which is pretty stupid since All Might is obviously not going to kill Bakugo). Deku couldn’t stand to watch Bakugo get hurt when he could do something about it, and risked his own failure to protect someone he admires. The praise he gets is because it’s not a conscious decision on his part, he always, without any thought, will go out of his way and risk himself to save someone else.
@@chinyereugwu9431 Think you need a dictionary on the word selfish. Bakugou's pride bascically came up with that plan. Bet you liked when he punched deku in the face as well. He ran to save bakugou because even though bakugou treats him like shit he still think of him as his friend. Popularity polls must like bad boys i guess. Based on that hes better by a mile? Pls. Such word vomit with so much misinformation of what exactly happened. You contradict yourself from the first line. Hes not selfless because he benefits from the saving. Then you say hes an ass because he came back to save bakugou and ignored the feelings and plans of the person who gets wrecked. So does he benefit or not? Also remember what all might said about being a true hero? Meddling when you dont need to. Deku may be a nervous crybaby and far from perfect but neither is lord explosion murder. He is a dick and he improves a lot in the time to come, personality wise, but not here. Thats bakugous only problem his personality. Combat ability wise i think hes the best in the class.
The point of the origin story episodes is that the episodes themselves are where the characters will look back and see as their origin story. At least, that’s how I always understood it.
I think All Might's "normal" state is the one you see him in when he trains with Gran Torino. The injury he got from AFO just made him really slender but his OFA "buff" state is being big with the hair back and different shadows.
Hey, hey, just curious, are you caught up in with the manga? If not, don't click the read more button👍 How do you feel about the parallels of this fight and what's happening currently with the fight bakugo's in?

Then uses Midoriya as a literal bat and bashes Bakugo over the head with him😂
I held back
Wolf6120 He’s never been the best at teaching 😂
Wolf6120 they both should've been dead tbh
But we already know what Deku's hidden quirk is. He can shoot insane quantities of water out of his eyes.
Also he can break every bone in his body multiple times over and over again
actually his quirk is a mixture of his mom's ability to attract object and his dad's heat. he can attract HOT girls to him ;)
But I feel like he clearly got the crying quirk from his mom too. I think her quirk was just misdiagnosed. She's just an esper with some mild telekinetic ability whose quirk is tear production. XD
I mean if you were an Esper in the MHA world would you even know it, or just assume that your abilities were from a quirk?
(All) Might you be a Nux Taku fan by any chance?
Can we talk about how the Symbol of Peace, used one of his students, to slam into another student to the ground?
All Might: THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!
Even worse, both those students are kids XD

It's the difference from him having your back, and being in his way.
fun fact and also maybe a spoiler:
all for one mentions having nightmares about all might's attack. he's scary, regardless of your power level.
So, basically, Allmight is Doomguy. Very much on the side of good, but still fucking terrifying.
To be fair, that was All Might going full power with his intestines hanging out of his stomach.
benjamin lammertz not really though, because the only people he's terrifying to are the people he catches breaking the law. a normal person walking down the street would be overjoyed to see all might, because it means you have the guarantee that everything within 100 meters is going to be safe from people running wild with their powers.

The stories titled "So and so: Origin" is where we see a given character's realization of what being a hero means to themselves.
What also crazy is if you account for his power here, and compare it to what it would be at his prime, and it’s terrifying.

Holy. Fucking. Christ.
To be fair the weights aren't really a help since his quirk is basically super strength
In his prime, All Might was a God.
the weights add up to half their body weight, not each individual one. If that were the case, none of the other teachers would even be able to move.
Putting those weights on him to restrain him was about as effective as a kitchen sponge against a flood.

All Might may have been holding back, but you can't tell me that punch to the gut wasn't some form of catharsis. Like, he's been waiting to do that since they met. Lmao
The Anafront
Oh definitely. Remember when bakugo talked back to him when he said he was their opponent?
"HaHaHa! This will be fun"
Everybody wanted to do that and All Might did our wish, lmao.
Lmao y'all are such dorks, I love you guys so much😂😂
The slap bet has evolved.
grabs a good student to hit the bad or super aggressive one All Mights way to be a true teacher
Bakugou has some serious Vegeta energy in this.
Izuku Midorya-
Quirk: One for all and projectile tears.
He has the power of one for all and can shoot powerful jets of tears from his eyes!
That animation of Deku hitting the bus and bouncing off is so oddly brutal
If you think about it deku only threw one punch and used kachans gauntlet while Kachan did literally everything else
On tournament arc midoriya vs todoroki, bakugou mention on "quirks are physical ability theirs a limit your body can take" thats where he also mention how he explain his costume design. Thats the answer on their argument about bakugou hurting himself
Bakugo is passionate maybe even more than deku tbh
Jcfrosty Cheesebugga I feel like Kachan saves Deku too. Kachan inspired him the first time and he tried to send Deku to the exit whilst fighting All Might to hold him off. Kachan is just not over emotional like Deku. Even in other episodes Kachan shows he cares about the other students even though he insults them. It’s just the way he is. Definitely my favourite character
Bakugou's passionate about being a hero and winning, Deku is passionate about being a hero and rescuing
Zub 41r he is over emotional, just aggressive, rather than overly empathetic
Jcfrosty Cheesebugga Man if Bakugo, Deku, and Todoroki worked together and got along they would be unstoppable!
Jcfrosty Cheesebugga Remember, Deku wants to be just like All Might whilst Bakugo wants to surpass All Might. He's definitely more passionate to become a Hero atm.
Seeing Bakugo get punch twice made me happy
I have been WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!
Those slaps were amazing, I laughed so hard
Not sure if you guys were told already but theres a cool fan theory that Bokugos childhood friend with the wings was the guy that was turned into that winged nomu. Just thought it was interesting
I think it was a spiderman at stark expo situation. A fan asked Horikoshi about it, and he just went with the idea. ^_^
Matthew Nash yeah the creator confirmed this theory lol
Eric has already mentioned it to the others a few eps back.
Sojtus do you remember what episode it was?
Illuminati Confirmed i think its the episode where the nomus appear and attack the city
This show’s reaction needs to happen more. I love your guys’ reactions
11:36 Calvin is already feeling the pain.
last one was blocked. Never saw it. Hope they don't block this one too.
They got to put that spank in the 2018 funny moments lol
*Midoriya says nice to bakugo*
Bakugo: Damn Nerd!
looks like All Might served our protagonists a big old fashioned helping of humble pie this episode.
This is the episode that really put into perspective how great All Might is
14:30 what did i walk into.....
LMAO
For some reason everytime All Might's on screen, I'm on the verge of crying tears of happiness.
I've been rewatching a lot of HxH and now i wanna see them react to that damn anime. I know it might take about 3 years but still it would be a pretty great reacting series.
Them bringing up the lightning......foreshadowing :D
no matter how many times Bakugo denies it, he is still Midoria's friend.
Every time Bakugou is without his grenades Eric's like, "Yes! Finally they are gone!" Poor Eric. They will never truly be gone.
great reaction guys :) also I always thought that the lightning coming off deku was the excess 95% of the power he wasn't using or something
That hype over slapping calvin's left cheek is amazing xD
Any way we could get episode 23 posted to the blind wave site with a different video player like the attack on titan reactions since 23 is blocked?
I really love how into this show they are to the point that they are joking around with it while smacking each other’s ass’s
“Needless to say… I'll be a hero that surpasses even you!” ...
A lot of the :Origin episodes are the big changing points for heros to where they start on their path to becoming the great heros they will be in the future
The mindspace thing is One for All being passed from one user to the next changing as it goes.
I love your guy's reactions: so I hope this doesn't get blocked and taken down like the last episode.
LORD THE HYPE ON YALLS FACES! You guys will love s3 :D
Easily my favorite episode of the series so far.
Waiting for the next episode feels like an eternity..... :'-(
Bakugou holding All Might back with explosions reminds me a lot of Mustang vs Envy
4:29 that was such an intense transition.
I had to give you guys a thumbs up after that hilarious paddling.
When Deku smiles after remembering all mights words, that might be my favorite moment in the show
why people always come out with theories that All Might already has a quirk before receiving One for All when he already and clearly said it during tournament arc that he was quirkless? i mean, what else prove you guys need when the truth already being said by the man himself??
It comes from the belief Toshinori’s “buff” form isn’t tied to One for All since he’s still able to temporarily use it even after One for All is completely used up. Leading people to think that his “real quirk” is making himself appear buff since Deku has used One for All for a while now and he never gets that shredded. Nana was also never shown like that but she was barely shown at all anyway. Toshinori telling Deku that he was quirkless was a lie he had to tell
Well, so was all for ones Brother
Kevin Barragan Except for the part where he literally explains that it's an extension from OfA, which he likened to puffing your chest up with air to look big. Deku creates odd green lightning while he uses One For All properly like All Might, but that's obviously not a different quirk. Why should buffing up be his?
Kevin Barragan i think people tend to forget one simple thing, the so called "buff" form is his actual form, its something he became after years of training, it just simply him putting up a muscle while the "skinny" form that he use now is just his true form AFTER he receive injuries from All for One
dinliner08 So after years of training he became 7 foot 2 and 500 and something pounds? I find that hard to believe.
People fail to realize that he wasn’t saving bakugo but bakugo’s pride at the end
Deku should be able to maneuver in the air as well, little smashes in the air should be enough to push himself in different directions just like how All Might's "New Hampshire Smash" pushed him back into Deku.
I would like them to rewatch the ball test episode and see why it was more reasonable for Bakugo to threw Deku
All Might is like Superman, a great hero that makes a very intimidating villain when he wants to!
Can't wait for them to get into S3, now that they've almost caught up. Although, I do kinda want them to skip ep1, given that it's partially a recap.
LukaBlight69 I'd be ok with them skipping the first one, but I feel they won't
LukaBlight69 they NEVER skip an episode
Eating Intestines Like Spaghetti if they've watched the Beach from Avatar then this one would be mild
Niamh Butler people are blinded about their perspective on Bakugo and Deku
@@MythicalMutt unless his feelings of "I have to beat you" overpowers his feelings of "I have to save you"
@@chinyereugwu9431 Think you need a dictionary on the word selfish.
15:03 - Plus Ultra!!!
this costum todoroki pop it's amazing! i'm in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FIVE EPISODES TO GO
The reason the vomit is always glowing is because it might make others throw up
Almight manhandling them was the best of this episode.
Oh man our two boys, back then and now.
Im so glad u guys exist
I hate how much this show praises bakugo without giving actual punishment
Hey, hey, just curious, are you caught up in with the manga? If not, don't click the read more button👍
How do you feel about the parallels of this fight and what's happening currently with the fight bakugo's in?
Please make more of these bets. I couldn't stop laughing
Wait where's the 23rd episode you guys? I can't find a reaction of you guys watching the 23rd one.
SlyWintaNinja it was blocked for copyright
