I’d love to see many more of these from more people. I often have a hard time comprehending how my spouse doesn’t see the same value I do and it’s fascinating to me, but more importantly helpful. Especially with such complete setups like yours where everything is pretty well up to community standards.

Nice video and well thought out.. Loved your reactions to your wife. It perfectly showed the thought differences between a tech enthusiast and 'normal' person.

Rachio - 1 star. Stopped working with HomeKit.
    Apple TV - 5 stars
    HomePods - 4 stars
Yale Nest locks - 4 stars, very reliable but need to use HA, Starling, etc to get into HomeKit
All Eve products - cameras, weather, outlets - 4 stars
Lennox, mysa and ecobee thermostats - 4 stars
Nest aware smoke, CM detector - 4 stars
    Logitech doorbell - 4 stars
    Logitech camera - 4 stars
Starling Home hub - 4 stars
    Aqara camera - 3 stars
Airversa air cleaner - 5 stars
Mya garage - 1 star - shut down API
Haiku by BAF - 2 stars, no API for HomeKit
    Homebridge - 3 stars

Thanks for sharing your list! My Rachio works with HomeKit without any issues. Would be curious to hear why you like the Airversa so much.

@@michaelsleen the airversa sits next to our new kittens litter box. It comes on automatically when it senses poor air and it works very well when litter is stirred up by our cat and can remove the orders rather well. The light on it adjusts for night time as well. The HomeKit is a bonus to up the fan speed for those special kitty uses and your in the room and when to clear up the odor quickly. It’s just a nice machine and I don’t have to use a separate app!

@@michaelsleen the Rachio just plan stopped working. Had to keep resetting it and Rachio support was useless. Then the device just died after about 2 years of ownership. Too expensive to fail after two years.

Nice video, it's always so interesting to know the opinion of one's partner in contrast to your own opinion of your devices and automations, haha. Like you might think one thing is the most useful thing since sliced bread, and conversely your partner says "nahhh, snooze-fest". Also, I had been wondering what the tag on your Ring Keypad was for ages! Good to finally know that it's an NFC tag for the robot vacuum, lol, my curiosity has been sated. I have to sometimes remember to ask my partner what they think of some new things I like to set up to see if they're as cool as I think or as useful as I think they are, only to sometimes find out that they're a bit of a nuisance (or what I can tweak on them to make them up to standard).

Sir! No smart shades! Switchbot and Sunsa make great retrofit options for smart blind tilts.

I know. Would love to have smart shades. We invested a lot into our current shades, and there is no retrofit option that I am aware of for honeycomb cellular top down bottom up shades. Can't justify spending money to replace them all. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the feedback. In my view (and my wife’s) they are quite different, but I can see how you may draw the connection. Appreciate you sharing watching and sharing.
