These videos show how much it comes down to the talent of the person shooting, not the gun or the ammo or the camo. Good vid. Hey what does the slick kit on the Adler do? Assume it makes it cycle smoother? I did see an Aussie review that said the Adler was fairly clunky to cycle - does the kit help with that?
@@garyevans3421 Actually there are a few differences between the Hawkeye and the MK11. I own examples of both. The main differences are the trigger, and stock configuration.
@@RickNethery I remember when I first saw a stainless steel Ruger rifle. It was the then fairly new Mk2 that I at the time hadn’t looked over. I was shocked that it looked as shiny as Excalibur! It was coupled with the “boat paddle” stock that I thought was terrible looking! I now know that the stock is very popular in Alaska, so I guess it is durable, but I thought the mirror finish would frighten off any thing worth hunting. Later, when they introduced the Hawkeye All Weather, I really liked the looks. The finish was matte and I really wanted one. They were high everywhere I looked so I tried to be tight until I scraped up the scratch and finally ordered one in 308. Man, I just couldn’t get it to group and finally sent it down the road. The funny thing was, before I got the 308 scoped, I ran into a good deal on a new one in 223 as well. After my bad experience with the first, I got cold feet about the 223 and was afraid I would have a second nearly new rifle I would have to sell used, I sold it to a friend and had to learn second hand what a tack driver it turned out to be! 😂

@@HuntingwithStu I was just having fun Stu. I actually was referencing the bush hat you've worn in so many video. Classic Australian headgear! Everyone likes the Aussie bush hat.
Good one, Stu. I try and balance between not enough (too simple) and over the top (tacti-wanker). I do pick what fits and suits me, making sure I get value for money. I swap between centrefires Lee enfield #4 with a #5 barrel, Addeley Precision mount and Bushy 3 - 9X mildot, or a kitted out Remington 7615 with the bells and whistles and a Halo sight on QDs. The shotgun is a Boito Miura with 19" barrels (chose it for the ejectors and single trigger.) They go on the front of the quad (a new Yamaha 350 Grizzly) and I'm working on the rest of my kit as i write. With 90 acres to practice on, I'm having fun fine tuning the package, ready for when the coronahoax is over and the borders re-open. Might see you out there one day. ;-)
@@HuntingwithStu Its a el-cheapo Brazilian made U/O usually available with 28 - 30" or 20" barrels. Mine been customised from a 30" jobby, no chokes and a simple front bead, but I can hit a 1 gallon bottle at 50M with slugs. Short, light and easy to use.
Just out of curiosity...what is the shot size on the 12 gauge cartridges? Here in UK we would use anything from 30gram 4 shot up to 50gram BB for foxes depending on range
Don't know why you'd want one over there. Just buy a pump Action or semi auto. Adlers are cheap pieces of shit. Nothing but teething issues with them. I've got a straight pull version and it jambs ever 4th or 5th shot
Swipez touch wood, my mates and do have the lever A110s and they’ve never missed a beat 500-700 rounds in! Always thought the straight pulls would be problematic with all that hardware slamming down
The ones that I have seen were .410 imported by century arms. There are some Turkish reproduction versions in the states but not the same features as the Adler. You can however get them in Canada which is strange to me
Just got a Model 94 myself! Still have to take it out for a spin, giving this whole virus debacle is keeping everything up in the air. Great video mate keep it up!
“All the gear no idea” and “buy once cry once” all good advice Stu. I started out recently with a 3.7kg Lithgow .223 and finding it too heavy to lug round and hold up for a while. Accurate as hell though. Any suggestions? Cheers
I hav a lithgow la102 in 308 and also find it heavy but very accurate .. Went and got a Ruger predator in 233 and love it for a cheap gun.. Tikka t3 lite is a very nice light gun
Another vote here for the Tikka. Their bolt feels like it wants to slide back and forth on its own, and usually very accurate. One can always find a lemon in any brand, but the Tikka is a good bet!
Is that a 20inch barrel on the adler stu? Would you havr liked to get it longer? I cant decide a straight pull or lever. Lever seems more practical on target however... I also have a croc rifle sling. Was made a few weeks back for me. Your sling inspired me to find one up the top end 👍
I don’t see many lever action 12 ga. I noticed that the 12ga. Shells are labeled different from ours. I would assume that 27 pellets would be similar to our #4 buckshot .24 caliber diameter. Have a good one from west Tennessee
Is barrel life expectancy a problem with the passing down of generations and amount rounds you shoot since you hunt and shoot a ton specifically the mark ii ruger?, Thanks Stu
Good video Stu. Scotty is always telling me what a tight arse you are, so I'll have to reference the part where you say "spend good money on good gear" ;) You forgot to include your 'Rona mask in your kit though. Keep up the good work, Dig.
I had a Sako Finnbear in .270, accurate but a heavy brute. I chopped it in for a Sauer Mod 90 in 7x64 and my shooting a Euro piggies improved no end. If you see a Sauer on a rack somewhere at a price that's right don't pass it by as being a posh puff musket without giving it a heft.
I actually like the look of the Sauer 202 Elegance and got to check one out and I didn't like the feel of it. I was also handed a left handed Sako Hunter 30/06 at the same time and it was just beautiful and half the price.
@@HuntingwithStu I get where you're coming from. I'm not a fan of the modern Sauers. My 90 is a basic grade one and I wouldn't swap it for a modern Lux edition one. Are you guys permitted to buy solids and heavy buck loads on a shotgun licence? Solids are Firearms licence only job over here and a real pain in the ass to get approval for.
Quick question for anyone who knows!! The lever action shotgun shown in this video, do they sale them in the US? And if not is it possible to order one and have it sent to the US?

Might see you out there one day. ;-)
Good stuff mate. I like the sound of that shotty. Gonna google it now.
Mate those are some beautiful firearms
Thanks mate they do the job
Nice one Stu thanks mate, haha you've had the 30.30 since you were 15 ya only 25 now, that's not a long time haha. Seeya Rob
LOL yeah 25 ha.
Just out of curiosity...what is the shot size on the 12 gauge cartridges? Here in UK we would use anything from 30gram 4 shot up to 50gram BB for foxes depending on range
Heavier than BBs we call em SGs
Legendary old school guns. And yep you only need 3 guns to have fun.
Yes mate.
Hey Stu, anyway you can talk them into importing the Adler to the USA
I could hit Trump up I suppose. That is strange that you can't get them into the states.
You can get em here. I’ve seen .410, 20 and 12ga. Just google em.
You can however get them in Canada which is strange to me
Good to see you Stu!!!
Thanks mate I'm out actually hunting next weekend so stay tuned.
Nice set up mate dose the job that’s for sure
Yes mate they do ok.
Just got a Model 94 myself! Still have to take it out for a spin, giving this whole virus debacle is keeping everything up in the air. Great video mate keep it up!
Congrats mate thanks for the support.
Surprised there ain't a sporter. 303 in one of the wildcat configuration like .303 25 or .303 270
Love your vids mate, from NZ
Awesome, thank you!
“All the gear no idea” and “buy once cry once” all good advice Stu. I started out recently with a 3.7kg Lithgow .223 and finding it too heavy to lug round and hold up for a while. Accurate as hell though. Any suggestions? Cheers
I think Lithgow make a sporterised rifle which is nice and light mate.
I prefer the short barrel and lever action as well mate. That is great that you have a croc skin sling mate well done.
Haha.
Home of the shorts, T-shirt, and dont forget your rainbow flip-flops dove shoot..
That's how I roll.
Impressive mate!
Thanks a lot! Pleased you like the clip mate.
I don’t see many lever action 12 ga. I noticed that the 12ga. Shells are labeled different from ours. I would assume that 27 pellets would be similar to our #4 buckshot .24 caliber diameter. Have a good one from west Tennessee
Yes I think so mate
Is barrel life expectancy a problem with the passing down of generations and amount rounds you shoot since you hunt and shoot a ton specifically the mark ii ruger?, Thanks Stu
Same barrel since buying it in 1992 mate. I have fired many hundreds of rounds through it but it still shoots well.
Hunting with Stu awesome, thanks for the response Stu keep up the great videos🔥
Love that 30/30!
It is pretty cool hey mate
@@HuntingwithStu Oh yes, and that patina adds to your rifle's attractiveness.
Good video Stu.
Scotty is always telling me what a tight arse you are, so I'll have to reference the part where you say "spend good money on good gear" ;)
You forgot to include your 'Rona mask in your kit though.
Keep up the good work, Dig.
LOL yes mate I will spend it when I see the quality, ha. We need to do another Cape York trip mate.
@@HuntingwithStu if this bloody 'Rona ever pisses off we might get the chance!
Some of the best guns I've ever owned have been bought off the used rack.
Once loved are often the best.
You did a good job at not showing all the gear with crows feet on it!
Thanks for showing us more of your gear mate !! How do you spell the brand of that knife ?
No worries mate. Ruike is the knife.
Some information about shoes types will also be usefull.
Did you bring the ipana? Stu
Ha no mate
Quick question for anyone who knows!! The lever action shotgun shown in this video, do they sale them in the US? And if not is it possible to order one and have it sent to the US?
It is a Turkish made A110 Adler mate. You should be able to order one
Stu , you have everything you need for the pigs but what about the Zombie mate, lol . Good hunting and stay safe mate would hate for you to get bit by a Zombie.😁
Adler for the Zombies mate unless I see them on the plain then the 30/06
Hey Stu great setup mate, What rifle case is that mate looks perfect
Hi mate it is an old Winchester gun case mate. Had it so long I can't remember when I acquired it, ha.
Bloody good informative video Stu.. for a Boer ( Ha ha ) at least we understand you matey.. cheers... by the way, . are your Croc's left handed as well ?
LOL thanks mate, ha yes left handed crocs.
It’d be great to see that CAT Tourniquet staged ready for use. I shared the video below. Handy advice for hopefully that time that never comes
Add a chest seal and an Israeli type bandage and you’ll be set
Thanks mate
Great stuff!
Look out Pigs when the sun comes up Stu is coming for You running wont save you !!! Lol crack me up mate love the vids , waiting for a new hunting vid hopefully you release one soon .
LOL good stuff mate yes I'm heading out on a hunt next weekend.
You better be running 👊🏽
Can you do a review on your 1887 the good and the bad!
I don't have it anymore mate.
@@HuntingwithStu ya kidding. Thoughts on the gun? Im about to buy a lever shotgun...
