Well done Martin, the video was delivered professionally and the content is as usual excellent. I love the way they turn out on the layout. I hope to aspire to your standards. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video.
Hi thank you for giving me ideas for making realistic trees. Also thanks for giving numbers and brands for items to make these trees and foilage as many other modellers have put in their comments.
Hello, Noch should be honored and very proud to have their products used and presented by such a great diorama artist. The static grass tree was stunning. Those could be the foreground. “ hero” trees. Thanks for another great tutorial. See ya next time.
WOW! My car as of many years ago on your title! This Renault R4 (without the read windows, yes!) Fourgonette served me well for many in the 70s. Thumbs up!
I had not heard of the Noch foliage before but I can see it has a realistic look to it. It would make good camouflage for 1/87 scale tanks so I will check this out. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi Martin, another great video, thanks. I love watching you making scenery and would love to see many more. How about placing one moving object in a country scene, just to catch the eye. For example a cyclist riding by, or a man disappearing down a man hole cover (and reappearing again). Or a random door opening and closing, or a boy climbing an apple tree....you get the idea. Something that no one else has really done and you could show us all how you made it! Cheers for now, Toby.
Servus. Das war wieder ein tolles Video, vielen Dank dafür. Gerade die Büsche gefallen mir so sehr gut. Muss ich mir gleich mal bestellen das produkt. LG Tino
Thank you Martin ! But these products are rather expensive and on a larger layout not economical. So I make my own foliage with Aquarium filter. Spray colored black & green and after spray gluing I apply home made colored latex flocks. (many tutorials here on YT). The result is the same...but just for the (pleasant) labor and time spend. Do you know you can cheaply make the foliage scatter by just grinding little pieces of color paper in an electric coffee mill ? Well, not all model railroaders are rich people... Cheers.
I wondered if a lot of the material used was given free for the advertising. If you figure the price per ounce a lot is like gold. But his results are amazing!!!
You can take foam out of an old chair cushion and grind it up in a blender or coffee grinder, dye it green, or whatever color you want, and have the ground foam just like the stuff that comes from woodland scenics in the plastic shaker canister. In spanish my name is "el cheapo." All types of tricks for cheaper modeling. The spider web sold at the dollar store for halloween can be spray painted and used in place of poly fiber for doing tree canopies and bushes. Improvise to maximize what you have. 👍
Hi Filip! One pack of Noch foliage is about $12 (€12). That will give you enough foliage for 3 trees and a lot of bushes. One pack of Aquarium filter watte is €5,90, then you need spray glue €10,50 and two spray colors; brown and dark green €10/ea. On top of that you need to either buy leaves, or turf, or make your own.. Anyway.. Let’s say the leaves are home made and free of charge, then the material cost for home made budget foliage sums up to €36,40 = 3 packs of Noch foliage. I would say that if you build a large model railroad and intend to make more than 200 bushes and 10 wire trees, it’s more economical to do it your way for sure! But, if you make one or two dioramas, or a gaming board for Warhammer, it’s not.
I understand from your comment that you have been watching a lot of my videos over a long time. Thank you for staying with the channel! Wood glue is good, but scenery glue is better. The choise is really between budget or optimal performance. I can see in the statistics for video views that the audience on TH-cam favor optimal performance, while people in the forums who build model railroads prefer the budget approach. Now I have been taking the budget approach in 154 videos, so I don’t think it is all wrong to also present the premium solutions as well.
I love your videos very much, you explain everything so well. I have a question, where do you buy your lovely people for your layout? They look very detailed. Did you paint them, or do they come ready painted?
Film tutoriel très intéressant. Bravo pour tous vos conseils. Very interesting tutorial movie. Congratulations for all your advice.I like. @hubert.pasc @Robertmonts
Jag brukar inte räkna, utan prova mig fram. Jag gör enkla modeller i papper eller frigolit och ändrar tills att jag får det perspektiv jag söker. I bland blir det skala 1:32 närmast och skala 1:160 längst bak.
@@Harrith-vy2co I attended a clinic last night at my railroad club. The presenter puts material in a ziplock bag with bug spray and leaves it for a while. Has natural material on his layout that is over a decade old without issue.

that second tree build was well worth your 2 hour investment! The draping of the plants is great for realism. Thanks!

I think you make the best looking trees! I will try the Noch products too
Very nice, thank you. Thanks for including the part numbers!

Wonder if it fits for N scale. Probably has to order some and try!
I like the trees made with static grass and Noch leaves. I can make specific trees found on my own property, for example.

can you tell me the title of the piano music, starting at 5:38? Thanks :)
What about modelling a location where trees are being harvested for a mill on a model train.
With k track conectors fail a Lot and dead areas apear. How do You solve that problem?

Do you need to do anything with the natural material before you can use it ?
I heard some people use vegetable glycerin to preserving the natural materials in their diorama
