I just found your channel today. I wish I had known about it sooner. Love the mountains and trains, so it’s a perfect mix. My dad’s family is from Asheville with most of my family still up there. It hurts my heart to think that WNC may not have any trains coming through anymore.

Another casualty of the times. Such a shame so many people will be out of work. I didn`t know it was such a large complex. Thanks for showing it.

Change is the only constant but it's especially melancholy when something goes away that has had such a major impact on an entire region and on generations of it's people. The downstream effects on Canton will be painful. I can only wish the folks there well. And thank you for the video work you've done on this interesting rail line.

Truly a shame to see such a big complex close especially when it's the town's backbone. Unless somebody else steps in that downtown will be a ghost town within two years. Sadly we've had three major mills in Wisconsin closed in the last five years. Thank you for the sad but well photographed finale

I was hoping someone would be there with a live broadcast. Thanks for being there. Didn't have enough advance warning to make plans to be there myself (Evergreen hasn't exactly been generous with schedules) but am planning to drive down for one last look the afternoon of the Big Train Show at ETSU. This place was the only paper mill you could drive around on public streets and see the inside without being arrested. Feeling for these folks and hoping they all find work, including the BLU workforce who I understand is losing 80% of their business.

The Canton news Facebook page had a live broadcast I think, but yes, BLU will probably really suffer from this, aswell as the many families affected.

Terrible, in my opinion. It will affect the people who work there, and the workers at the BLU who are out of canton, and us, railfans! My classmate's dad is a track inspector at the BLU, and he might be jobless.
