Fun times on the Eastern Basin when they start hitting the jerkbait. I used to fish jerkbaits 80% of the time whenever I was chasing smallmouth then I got lazy. Glad I decided picked up the Lucky Craft Lighting Pointer 110 (Chartreuse Shad), super fun bite with several follows and a few hook ups.
The fun thing about jerkbaits in this gin clear water of Lake Ontario is even if the bass don’t hit it, they’ll follow it and show themselves. Then it’s just a matter of changing the cadence or color of your jerkbait, or tossing in a Ned or drop shot to get the followers to bite.
