I just finished THE SHACK and I'm a different person. I'm so in love with God I can hardly stand to think about anything else. FINALLY someone has helped me understand Christianity without performance requirements. Now I can know that I am loved and wanted and not a big disappointment to God. Thank you Mr. Young. I'll be forever grateful.

There is nothingg so damaged, that God's love cannot heal. There is no one's heart that is too twisted, that God cannot unwind so that we may be free. Your book "The Shack", melted years of ice, and I am looking forward for this semester to end so that I may read your new book.

You are so correct, portwes, "that religion creates as much emotional and psychological disturbance as it does heal it." That is because "religion" is man's scheme (agenda) to change every other person into what they are (believe). I dare say that you were, for 43 years, entangled in the web of
"religion" and that is why you have "de-converted" (walked away from what you first believed). I too have walked away from "religion" but only after I found the One and only loving God.

I read Cross Roads, absolutely excellent for first few chapters then runs out of steam. It is predicable, has a few laughs, a little meaning but ultimately just one of those books you read and are eventually very disappointed by!

Wm Paul Young may attend any church, or subscribe to conventional evangelical theology, but he still seems to believe that human beings are all damaged goods, that humanity needs a God of some sort to redeem us from our sinful state.
Since de-converting after 43 years as an evangelical & missionary, I no longer believe that. Yes, there is a sickness of soul that many people suffer. But I really do believe that religion creates as much emotional and psychological disturbance as it does heal it.
