I can tell you from personal experience that high levels of cortisol can kill you! I was so stressed from my job and family issues/illnesses/deaths that it shut me down. After losses, hospitalization and leaving job, it took 3+ years to get to feeling somewhat normal. Not quite there yet, but continue to focus on regaining my health. You are on it and handling your "situation" well. Just take care of yourself. Rest, nutrition, exercise are imperative! Wishing you all the best; you are an awesome woman! -- thoughts from an over 60 woman!
Awww, thank you. And I totally agree. I can tell the stress is killing me slowly. Time to dial back and feel like I have a schedule and some control over my life. I already know I’m in active burnout and some things had to give 💜
Good things are settling down a little bit for you 🤗, I rented a room from a retired couple briefly from an ad I saw in the newspaper when I was in college before I was able to move on campus, they were so nice and respected my privacy, I still have the quilt the old lady made for me, hope you have a great experience too☺️
That's one piece of advice from my mother I've always carried with me. 'You can always count on everything changing, even if you do nothing.' It is so true and has helped me my whole life. Being more Type A and thinking I need to control things, it relieves me of that pressure. But now i give up most everything to God. Besides, I think things turn out the way they're supposed to. Makes life so much easier lol.. I lived with that fight or flight after some relationship trauma and family loss and I believe it caused me to have auto immune issues. Find some way to relax and have peace. It's essential 💚
I’m in a similar situation Tracey. This is my first summer living in my van. I am working hard to make it my last lol. Too hot and uncomfortable and my energy level is zapped. So everything you said is what I’m experiencing too. Good luck to us both!
Lots of videos out there about waking up near lakes and waterfalls, not as many talk about the lack of sleep from loud mufflers and heat. Thanks for always keeping it real and good luck with the new job!
Exciting changes! Congrats on the new position! We'll keep our fingers crossed on the rental. I know parking lot van life first hand, and yes, exactly, a person can only take so much being woken up by all the noise. Sounds like you've got a lead on a great place!
Ur situation ..👀 our situation lol I’m so glad you’re getting things situated with your mom and your living arrangements. Yay, then you can relax. And enjoy ur mama and life .and take a brake from van life ❤ good job Tracie
Tracy, I wish you all the best in this next adventure. I have to say I have been binging a lot of van life and Rv life vids lately. Though I am not sure I could do can life long term, you have made me believe that if it comes down to it I could survive. I am mid fifties but all of you fabulous ladies have given me faith in myself.
Thank you for sharing! You seem excited! Having Joy somewhere you know she’s safe and not alone will take a load off of your mind. I just went thru it as well.
Yep! I'm in the middle of chaos right now. Can't see the 'end' from where I'm at... but I know I'll get through it, 'cause I always do. Thanks for the pep talk. I certainly needed this today. 🙏❤
I just found your channel, I'm a almost 50 year old woman in the UK, considering Van Life, thank you, for all that you have shared, your words of wisdom and loving personality is healing and inspirational, you're an Angel.
Definitely big difference between living in a van on the road and staying the same place. If you are staying in the same place it is more like, "I live in a van down by the river", rather than van life.
Oh My! I got the 666 like I've just found your chanel and you rock! Such a lovely person, going through this 50 something stuff I'm going through. I'm not 'vanlifing' but I am mid-lifing and me cortisol levels have been high for the past 10 years I'm sure 😂 I look forward to being with you on this next journey xx
Yes, it will be good to have a bit of a regular routine for a while. Even if that room doesn't work out, you can probably find something similar. Pilots and flight attendants often are good roommates because they are gone for days in a row.
I'm glad you are able to focus on what's best for you rather than worry about what other people might want from you. You'll be glad you did this for not only yourself but also your mom and your daughter. They are way more important than followers. Breathe. Relax. Enjoy.
Tracy, I totally understand what you are dealing with in your life…I am going through many of the same things as you are dealing with now! You are helping me try to slow down too! Life is full of surprises! My Mom just lost a kidney, deaf, confused, and other medical problems currently! I had congestive heart failure and now realize that stress can mess up your life! PLEASE take care of yourself! Love from Arizona! ( extra info. I was 38 when my heart problems began, stress level was the start of all of it…I just turned 60!
You have an amazing future! I feel it in my bones! I sense so much authenticity in you and that will take you far. You’re still a puppy!😉. You are a survivor. Survivors run the world!
I’ve been studying Stoicism philosophy for the past two years. What I’m learning and continue to diligently put into practice is ACCEPTING and EMBRACING, that life IS IN FACT and by nature a series of ups and downs (just as you said and demonstrated with your arms 😊). According to Stoic philosophers, it’s the challenges that present priceless opportunities for us to learn life lessons that we can then be applied when things are going well. For me the challenge is to be mindful of and receptive to what I can learn in the midst of the difficult times. I’m a Minnesota fan, who admires your tenacity ( you’re my kind of people), and I cheer you through your ups and downs. Take care!
I’m lucky to be able to park my van in my parent’s driveway in the suburbs when I’m not traveling. I just had to rush back there because of a dental emergency.
Wow thats a lot of jobs you've had and what a BIG difference all together, I get it though been there done it all also. Im glad you ended up back where you started ...not sure id want to manage people again at our age been there done that most of my jobs. Im glad you get to settle down. Im still moving to Mississippi from St Paul Minnesota RV living but in a campsite year round and my brother lives there. Being the baby girl he wants me there hes the oldest of 7. Im just so over the winters and 59 im ready to move on. I just got my uncle into assisted living on the first of this month. All he meeded was his belongings and tv no bed or dressers. Its a house in Eagan she rents to 6 elders. He loves it. Oh yeah I had a Hyundai the best way to remember how to say it the salesman said Hyundai rhymes with Sunday..the Y is silent.❤
My wife and I Rved for 6 years. Then we found our place in the Idaho mountains. We could sell our travel trailer. We are camping here 24/7, 365 in a nice mountain cabin by the creek.
I’m local so if you’re selling any of Joy’s art work I’m interested. I moved out of my van 18 months ago and still have nothing on my walls. I like her taste.
How long were you in the van? Do you like being stationary? And, yep, once I get everything settled I have all her artwork in storage and I’ll start moving it 😁
Congrats on new job! Life is crazy for sure, we found a house and an offer accepted so now the roller coaster will begin, plus a hard to deal with seller. Ugh! I loved that you mentioned “Caribou” a place I love, best coffee ever😀
Goooooood morning tracey, i came up with a new name ,seems to fit ,well call it tracsys roller coaster like you said changes in a flash im glad you are resilient enough tobounce from one thing to another so easily i get to bogged into a routine andhave a hard time changing that quick thats a good thing being able to roll with the flow! Wish you all the good luck with all of your endevores, hope they all pan out!! Cant wait to see how joy does with her new situation! Going fo miss your bike reviews but i understand you can only do so much and your cup runneth over!!! Take it easy tracey youll make it !❤❤
I know how you feel. The stress/cortisol is real and has affected me in levels I never imagined. I’ve followed you for quite some time because I do get it. I left a narcissist after 20 yrs of marriage. Of course, I got very little to nothing though we have 3 children. I’ve been working hard for years to get fully back on my feet. Left Florida to find lower living costs but not at huge savings. My job is mostly commissions and it’s been stressful. Rent @ $1500-1700 doesn’t help to get out of the hole. I know of great home buying programs but I still need to save some money. I live in the hope change is always around the corner. Thanks for your vulnerability and messages of hope! 🥂It will all be better soon! Congrats on all the good news!!
Minnesota has park and ride lots. I see people parked there for months some living out of vehicles. But the sign on the one near me says 14 days. I do see cops drive through sometimes

Hey Tracey I'm glad you're not selling your van !!! 👍 Eventually your channel will grow and you'll be able to make a living from it !!! Do is more clothing optional videos !!!! LOL 😉 Maybe load up Charlene with a bunch of solar panels get some lithium batteries enough to power a mini split and have one installed. that way you're in a temperature controlled environment while you travel !!! You could do it a little bit at a time because it would be pricey but what's your comfort worth.🤔 Being comfortable is the key to happy travels !!! ✌️♥️😎
There is no shame in taking anti anxiety meds if you need them. I’m 72 with a family that have all suffered with GAD. My whole life I tried everything to control my anxiety without meds. Recently I had a bout of uncontrolled high blood pressure, even with BP meds, and trembling, sweating, shortness of breath that was debilitating. After many tests that all came out normal, thank goodness, my doctor insisted I try a GAD med that is not an SSRI and is non addicting. It has changed my life. Wow!! I should’ve done it years ago. I hope if your stress level doesn’t improve you will consider medical intervention. I feel calm for maybe the first time in my life. Good luck. Love your channel. 💕
I’m so happy they figured it out for you! I know where my stress is coming from. It’s situational right now. Once Joy is moved and settled into assisted living things will be G. 😁💜
I said the same thing my whole life. I knew where my stress was coming from too. It would lessen sometimes when life calmed down a bit, but it was still always there right under the surface. Wishing you the best always.
Hello from the heart ❤️ of Illinois USA 🇺🇸 I'm happy for Joy! A room for rent is a great idea I think, temporarily. 👍 Hope the landlord is a good one. 🙏

I do a little dysport (the cheaper version of Botox) about every 6 months. I’m an esthetician so that may help 😁
I thought for a moment your sister came to her senses and gave y’all’s mother her money.
Nope. They are going through with it. My mom gets deposed in September 🫤
