You have some fascinating retro content! Going to sub after this video and go through and make a playlist of what I want to see. I am surprised you don't have more subs.
The color vectrex used what is called a penetron tube. A type of color CRT primarily used in military systems where the limited colors were outweighed by it's simplicity and ruggedness and it's higher resolution (because it had no shadow mask). Color was controlled by modulating the intensity of the beam to penetrate to the phosphor layer you wanted.
As a kid I can recall playing the Microvision at a store and of course I wanted one but never got one. Right before Covid though I did score a Vectrex and it may sound silly, but it is one of my prized posesions. Thanks for the video.
Arcade Jason is an American who produces Vectrex multicarts in the states. I have one I ordered and had imported myself. You can find him and many other Vectrex fans and owners on the Vectrex fans unite! group on Facebook.
What a cool idea the Vectrex was, great console! Amusing to see these ridiculous old press and TV ads and the wide-eyed expressions, the Jackie Stewart one is a surprise. Very nice video.

Welcome aboard and thanks for your kind words!
I’m rewatching lots of your videos today because they are so well done on subjects most other content creators rarely touch on.
Vectrex is my childhood and my life. ❤
That prototype looks so much better than the actual retail version.
Right? Man, that thing is beautiful. The picture is also beautiful on it.
Old consoles fascinate me. Such a dif variety from country to country

My Vectrex is definitely one of my most prized possessions so I'm with you there!
Easily one of my favourite consoles, a colour version or a handheld would have been awesome

I know of him, I keep meaning to join that group actually.
@@TheLairdsLair - I highly recommend it. They’re a good bunch and a wealth of information.
Your video was really informative by the way.

Glad you enjoyed it!
The Mini one even has the Vectrex Buzz.
