4:10-4:35 Yes… unfortunately, the moment you hear his voice, it’s gonna be living rent-free in your head ’till you die of old age; that’s how iconic Koyasu’s voice is, and the actor himself is legendary, to the point that he went out of his way to be Mordred in Eminence in Shadows as well. Literal living legend.
28:26-28:40 Well, considering what happened in the Royal Capital Arc, I’m not sure it’s excessive. It _is_ the calm before the storm that is episode 12-25. 30:30-30:48 About alcohol and Subaru, by the way. In the Novel of Arc 1, when he first respawned and was confused about what happened, and went to Rom’s place in confusion and guilt of not being able to protect Emilia who he knew at the time as Satella, Rom actually offered him some booze so that they can both ease up and discuss his search for Emilia, which he accepted, since he thought he wasn’t sure if this “Satella” he found and had a short but long life with in that one loop, wasn’t actually some delusional dream that he imagined. So he actually got smashed with Rom, and they did talk a lot more than in the Anime, and it was a lot of nice and chill dialogue, but since the Anime was rather fast-paced and surface-level in terms of dialogue in those first chapters (Not sure about the later ones. Gotta read more), they didn’t quite capture that moment of intimacy with Rom and Subaru, and the entire messed up situation of him having to see Rom die when he was talking to him so heart to heart. And ultimately, because he was drunk, and his first conscious encounter with Elsa was _that_ traumatic (considering how uncensored the source material is about violence and other adult stuff), he kinda decided to not drink alcohol again. Therein, this episode of Memory Snow where he refrains from drinking alcohol out of trauma. Also, 32:02-38:41 Peak Anime, by the way. Subaru probably regrets not drinking lol
21:23-21:33 I think you missed it, but the reason they brought up Tadataka as a reference was ’cause Puck and Roswaal terraformed the whole landscape to the point that actual cartographers would have to excruciatingly remap the whole thing. Yes, you heard that right, they had a casual duke-out where damages could reach continental scales of harm to the landscape.
14:42-14:54 Yes, but in the Re:Zero verse, the fire element doesn’t just increase temperature, it allows you to control the entire temperature spectrum all-together. So Puck can freeze _and_ burn; though he seems to prefer ice.
GG, my dude. Good reaction. The interesting thing about the end of this OVA, where Emilia was talking some stuff out with Puck, is that she was already getting stressed out about Subaru hurting himself to save her, so it became one of the reasons why their relationship combusted in episode 13, ’cause she didn’t like that he was hurting himself so much, since his reasoning seemed insane and reckless from the outside. And it didn’t help that he couldn’t explain himself properly, so we had that break-up moment in S1E13, as you can remember. Emilia wasn’t just hurt about being “treated differently,” which she views as discrimination and racism, so to say; she was hurt from having to make Subaru go through all that suffering just as much, if not more. God, this show can be sad… …Also, that last part about “The Witch Bit Him” by Puck, was a translation goof-up; it was supposed to be “the witchbeasts bit him,” so don’t think too much about it. But yeah, I hope to see you next time, my dude. Well done with the reaction 👍
4:52-5:08 Funny. Subaru mentioned in episode 1 of season 2 that she used to sneak up on him while he’s sleeping and just watch him, all obsessively. There’s even a side-story in the Light Novel where this is described in its entirety, with a lot of good slice of life scenes. Re:Zero has so much good side content books, to be honest, and majority of them aren’t translated.
7:02-7:09 Trust me; you would. Of course, I’m not gonna spoil, but if the anime were to ever adapt the EX Novels, which are basically spin-off series important to the main narrative, and you had the generosity of White Fox to adapt that volume and let you see grandma, you’d be wishing you knew about her earlier 😉
@@gravityhero2227 What does “two parts” mean? Do you mean cours? ’Cause if it’s 2 cours of both and they try to cram in Arc 5 and 6 into it, it’s gonna be a pure catastrophe.
Okay, so no spoilers from me, but in terms of story, Frozen Bonds is the most important OVA, but it’s chronologically taking place right after Memory Snow, which is what you have to decide, ’cause you’re gonna have to watch it before season 2’s second cour either way, or you’ll lack some good context as to what’s going on, since Frozen Bonds is like a preparatory prequel before the pre-prequel. It doesn’t spoil anything in season 2, it just gives you more backstory on Emilia before the biggest reveals. My point is, if you want the freshest memory, watch Frozen Bonds before S2E14, or if you care about chronology more, watch it after this one.
@@DefinitivelyZach Gotchu. I’m just hoping you’ll have enough brain juices left to remember it when it matters, ’cause even Novel readers find new mysteries in it. Though for season 2 specifically, I think remembering it on a basic level should be enough, honestly.
Well, to be honest, the studio that released Memory Snow, did kind of put themselves in an awkward situation (not sure if it’s WhiteFox or not), since they released it after season 1 ended (if I’m not mixing up the timelines, that is) instead of releasing it chronologically after the margraviate arc, which is like after season 1 episode 10 or 11, in between the margraviate’s mansion arc with the dogs and the royal selection arc in the capital. So this OVA was kind of supposed to be a calm before the storm for the royal selection arc. I do hope that you still enjoyed it, though. It’s been around 2 months since I watched seasonal Anime, so I haven’t checked your channel in a while. Hope you’re doing well.
2:03-3:09 That feeling when Subaru is proficient and eloquent in English, but his pronunciation is dogshit just ’cause he never had a chance to output English back in Japan with all the homogeneousness and shitty language ed he had to deal with in school… …I’m actually being serious, the guy is pretty good at English. In fact, and this is a small teaser for later, he was trying *too hard* to be good. That should be some nice food for thought for now.
😅You missed sooo much, tbf some of it were S2 spoilers, they are all kinda hard to catch, its all just foreshadowing and references Btw, they also animated the date itself, but you have to gamble on some japanese pachinko machines to see it, here it is /watch?v=CcfrahkdGmM
In the grand scheme of things, this OVA may be a majority filler, but it was so worth to see Emilia and Rem get drunk!

Techinically there is a recap movie of S1.
Where?
@danielantony1882 it's split into two parts also apparently it's a director cut.
