For 399 - bro its a steal! I gave my friends mine ml3 standard to play and they said its super nice and better than more expensive guitars like fender or Gibson:)
I was totally the same but all 3 of these guitars have been fantastic. I know I keep banging on about it but the necks are so good! Give one a try if you can mate! Cheers as always for checking the video out man 🤘
Yo Jack, hope you’re well Was curious as to what camera you’re using in the face to face stuff? I can tell it has a wide angle, but not too much and I kinda dig it
Hey dude! I’m great man cheers, hope you’re good too? I just changed lenses actually last video. It’s a Canon RF 16mm F2.8 on a Canon R6. I’m glad you like it man, that’s a relief 😅 always a bit scary testing new stuff haha Hope that helps, thanks for checking out the video too 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars yeah I’m good, dude. Busy with music, fixing guitars and trying to get my own channel off of the ground. Had a feeling it was a canon, but yeah the wide angle isn’t a obtuse as some: gives just enough feeling of space without heavy barrel distortion
I know the feeling mate! Work, the channel, and my 9 month old amongst other things is keeping me very busy 😂 At least you're on it though man! Yeah, it's a great camera. I used to be heavy into photography so I got something that I can still use to shoot decent photos when I get a moment. The 16mm is a good, affordable lens but it's got quite a lot of focus breathing and the distortion shows a lot at closer distances. For use on a static setup like mine it's doing a good job, I'd have liked it to be a f1.8 but can't be spending tons on lenses haha
Hi Jack! This was a great review and the guitar looks and sounds amazing. Was just wondering how you would compare this to the Harley benton fusion T with EMGs that you reviewed recently. Other than the difference in the guitar shape, which one would you say is more bang for the buck? Thanks!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it! So, I think the Fusion-T is a great guitar, definitely, but its level of polish is nowhere near as high as the Chapman. The way I think about guitars is the playability being the most important thing, like, if a guitar's comfortable and plays super well then that's most of the job done. In that regard, the Chapmans are miles ahead in my personal opinion. I hope that helps and thanks again! 🤘
Hey Jack! I just recently found your channel and I've been enjoying your reviews, you're always honest and straightforward without the fluff. I'm wondering if you could possibly review the Jackson X Series Soloist Arch Top SLAT7 Multi Scale (what a mouthful...) I'm torn between getting that or the Schecter Omen Elite 7 multiscale. Cheers mate, I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hey mate! That's awesome of you to say man, thank you. That made my day! I can definitely look into it bro. The channel is pretty much self funded so, unless I can get my hands on one as a loan or something, I dunno if I'll be able to. Let me look into it 😉 Thanks again dude!
How would you compare the chapman PU to the Seymour set Pegasus and sentient ? They have a ML1 standard limited run with those in, but I prefer the satin black finish of the series you holding here
I love the Pegasus & Sentient set personally, I think they’re dope. These Chapman pups are a different Duncan-esque vibe but still super capable, a little bit more mid heavy and not quite as bright but still awesome, I like them a lot! Cheers for checking out the video mate, I hope that helps🤘
I bought the ML3 but I might try one of these because i'm kinda struggling to feel comfortable with the tele shape / playing position as I tend to wear my guitar relatively high (it was my first tele). How would you compare the two yourself in terms of playing position and comfort?
Comfort wise dude, the ML1 is probably the more comfy of the two, particularly if you sit classically rather than over the thigh. I imagine the top of the body is poking you in the sternum a bit? Might be worth a try! Thanks for checking out the video man, I appreciate it 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars Yeah the sternum thing, exactly right haha. Bit of a shame because its such a pretty guitar! The ML1 looks good too but there's just something saucy about a metal tele haha. Thanks for the help. I'll probably give the ML1 a whirl 🤟🏽
I agree man, I'm a huge modern tele fan. My ML2 Pro is actually my most played guitar right now, I love that thing, but I do have an ML1 that I haven't shown here yet and it is definitely more comfortable. I hope you find something that works bro 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars I actually took delivery of an ML1 today and it's a much better fit for me. I might not have took the plunge without your help so thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. Much appreciated dude!
Big word pickup go brr ! 😂 nice one bro! It's brilliant that these guitars come with coil splitting ! Because that is an option that is often on more expensive guitars! I think Polyphia and Intervals tend to use coil splitting and to be honest I want to try it too. Hey Jack, I just got to watch this one. I'm one day late haha . Yay you've kept the outtakes 😆! "The neck has been designed to give better fretter 😂" I thoroughly enjoyed your solos and riffs ! One of my local guitar shops actually has Chapman guitars in stock , so even though they're probably not for me, I'm keen to try them out of curiosity. I don't think anything can beat the Strandberg or Ibanez quest for me but I did play Esp guitars exclusively for years so anything is possible !
Anyway I wanted to say I learnt something and really enjoyed your video as usual dude! Hope you're well? I haven't been able to play guitar as much as I would like, but I have been practising songs off Language by the Contortionist and the most hated by Polyphia which is a lot of variety! I love using single coils to play the leads on the Worst and Goose . I feel like I'm going from spanky noodly riffing to odd time jazzy chug proggy meditation music ( Contortionist use so many chords 😂! )
Thank you my dude and I'm glad you enjoyed the outtakes! Coil splits really aren't my deal but I'm glad it has it. And yeah, try one out if you get a chance man. They might not be your thing, I think possibly a bit too heavy, but it's worth having a play to see what the necks are like. I'm pretty well man. Hope you are too! Glad you're managing to get a bit of playing done. Take care my dude!
@JackTaylorGuitars I honestly get overwhelmed by the amount of choice with guitars that have 5 options for pick up selection. Like with the Ibanez quest there is so many choices 😅 and sometimes I get overwhelmed! But that's also a lot of fun to explore. Aw yeah it does look a bit heavy. I love the look of Jackson guitars too but they are way too bulky for me . Thanks so much, dude 🙏 . Music and guitar help a lot, and listening to fellow guitarists inspires me. I'm seeing an Australian prog metal band this week, and I can't wait to have my mind blown into another universe:) Also It's fantastic you're writing out your riffs and solos! That is an excellent resource and I am keen to try them! My guitar playing doesn't have as much influence from metalcore but I really enjoy your riffs and compositions ! 😀
Hi Jack, Dan here. Thanks for the vid and glad you like it. Interesting to hear your thoughts on how it differs to the ML2 and nice to know that the variety we have on offer is a decent mix. Thanks again! Awesome playing and great demo.
Hi I recently received a ml1 modern chapman guitar and i think there is a Problem: when i pull the pickup switch to the Position down the sound is massivly reduced and on clean channels barely noticeable. If i switch the pickups with the tone controle then it works fine. Is this normal? Can u hepl me out what i should do?
Hey dude! So, when you have the pickup selector in the bridge position you're not getting enough output? I'm not sure what you mean about switching pickups with the tone control tbh dude but, if you're not getting enough output on the bridge pickup with the volume and tone all the way up, and the pickups aren't split, then I'd contact who you bought it from. If you're splitting the pickups by pulling the tone nob up (away from the body) then you will get slightly reduced output because it's only using half the pickup. Though it should definitely not be super quiet. Hope that helps mate!
@@JackTaylorGuitars thanks for your answer! Yeah its exactly the opposite when i have the tone controle down the sound is massivly reduced and when i split them with lifting up the sound is massivly louder and more present. But only for the bridge Position 😅
"... born in the woods of Sweden a d raised by a pack of Strandbergs" ...😂 gold!
I’m glad you liked that dude 😂 cheers for checking out the video man 🤘

@@JackTaylorGuitars you should try Harley benton Amarok someday and make comparison:)) they are nice too
It's on the list bro 😉 Could be quite soon but we'll see!
