Thanks for the uploads Ian, they bring back a few memories, especially the crane at 3:46 to 4:30. I never got to travel like you did but, I did stumble across the "Rail Museum" in New Delhi in the mid 90's, I was killing time before flying back to Manchester. I remember it being rather 'Indian' at the time but looking at the website today, it does seem to be more 'looked after' now. Somewhere I still have a few photo's but one particular thing always stuck in my mind. There was a very basic attempt at an Armoured carriage and, the method of construction was all detailed on a board. As a Mech Engineer I always thought a layer of felt between two steel plate skins was a bit ambitious, a bit keep your head down and hope for the best. Memories🙂
Amazing compilation... Jalandhar was the last area to facilitate steam traction across Northern Railways network in India before all steam locos were scrapped once for all to give way for diesel traction where rail electrification wasn't present! 🙏
